  3. Awwwww! Sugar & Spice your pup is just unreal! The markings are fabulous! ;)
  4. I hope that gives you some closure. She looked like a very beautiful and much loved old girl. You will always have the memories RIP Lucy :D
  5. Awwww! By the look of that pic, she seems to be settling in just fine Now for the training
  6. Hi Lovebug, You really need to nip this behaviour in the bud now. A part of assisting your new staffy to "settle in" is by training, this will allow you to reinforce that you are the alpha dog. It concerns me that she jumps on your 3 year old face! Even if the staffy hasn't been vacinated you don't have to take her to obedience classes for training. You can commence training now in the home environment. Good luck!
  7. I have to agree with Peresphone (again :D ) They do need more structured exercise and not just games. Walking on a leash teaches them discipline and allows them to explore new surroundings and smells, thus mentally stimulating as well. In addition, buried treats, kongs, raw meaty bones and other like objects will keep them amused during the many hours that they don't have human interraction. Are you, or can you take them to obedience and agility training? I think they will benefit greatly from it, if it's a possibility!
  8. I'm so sorry Kaffy! I followed the original thread hoping for some good news. He was a beautiful boy and I'm sure your life was much richer having him! Run free little man :D
  9. So sorry Warley, Houndee has his wings
  10. 13 is a very good innings, I'm so sorry for your loss, no more sufferring Jessie, you now have earned your eternal wings.
  11. I am! Just give me a few weeks notice so that I can organise to drive drown from Geraldton. Thanks!!!
  12. If he is only 8 weeks old, he wouldn't have had all his vaccinations, are you sure that it is safe for him to attend puppy preschool? I've always waited until the final vaccination before I attend puppy preschool, but please anyone correct me if I’m wrong.... Congratulations with the perseverance with house training!
  13. I too would expect a refund as the breeder is at fault in allowing you to purchase a pup with two very young kids. I am sure the breeder will very easily be able to resell the dog so if you didn't get the refund this would be a double dip for the breeder, thus encouraging them to make the same mistake again! I'm glad that you have made the choice to return the pup, and it only shows that you are a responsible dog owner. Don't be hard on yourself for admitting defeat, you not superwoman.
  14. I'm very surprised that the breeder sold you a pup aswell :D I don't know anyone that has the ability to raise two young children and train and give a pup enough attention at the same time! Best of luck again, and make sure you take some time out to pamper yourself!
  15. Well said CavNrott. :D In effect you now have two babies and one toddler. The timing just isn't right for a pup. I can't begin to imagine what you are going through these last 5 days! I suspect you have to get up serval times during the night to feed your daughter let alone, be woken up by a cry pup. I know this must be difficult for you and you are that stressed and exhausted it can't be good for your own health and the wellbeing of the family. You have admitted that your husband works long hours which means this has become your problem so you need to make the decision for your own health. I suggest to speak with the breeder and have the pup rehomed, reconsider getting a another pup or even an adult dog (the house training is already done!) when the timing is right. Best of luck !
  16. I agree Alison, you have a very cute puppy! Byron is just adorable and I'm sure you don't have any problems with human socialization! I agree with Jillybean, I can't see any problems in making playdates if you can ensure that all dogs that Byron is in contact with have been fully vaccinated.
  17. Hehehehe, cheeky little fur baby! I'm sure you were not impressed considering the distance you had to travel to get it. I'm sure she will find renewed interest in it soon.
  18. I tried the recipe persephone, and you get two thumbs up from a very happy Lab! Not a morsel remained when I got home and it's so easy to make, I think I'm going to have to clean out my freezer to make more room for the iceblocks this summer! Thanks again
  19. Persephone, that sounds like a big doggy YUM recipe! With 38 forcast tomorrow, I'm going to be trying that recipe tonight. I will let you know what the verdict is tomorrow
  20. HA! That's nothing like my Lab. He doesn't even notice when the goodies fall out of it, he is a big slow eh?
