Yep if she can do that just ask for an assessment, they are very good! :)

Agility is great, it's taught in modules. Each module is four weeks and the instructors trust you know your dog and how they work best :)

Agree with julesp, croydon is fantastic. I know I always give dogs with a yellow bandana a very very wide berth and it seems most other ppl do too (will always be the occasional person who doesn't get it!)

We are encouraged from day one to use both treats and toys :) only dogs that have passed basic two are allowed offlead during agility and the occasional obed exercise :)

Tollers owned, I started at croydon with an already somewhat trained dog. If you go into basic two, the exercises you have to do to pass to do agility include:

Heeling/weaving

Sit stay one minute

Down stay two minutes

Stand stay 30 seconds

Stand for examination

Distance signals (3 change of position I think?)

Recall

Food refusal

Sooooo if your dog can do those exercises you would be fine :) You can also ask for an assessment by an instructor and they can say if they think you can go straight to agility :)

It really is a fantastic club for the most part and I'm very happy to be there :)

I almost put one on Leo so he would learn not to try greet every dog that came near him but he improved out of sight before I did :)

Dont be worried if you dont pass the first time, many people dont!

maybe talk to the assessors about the mat exercise?? If you can show you can examine him standing they may be happy with that?

I would advise getting an appointment with a specialist.. Rebanne is right, this could have a huge impact on his life later down the track (or possibly even now) in terms of pain/arthritis/etc.

Nope they shouldn't, it's a schedule 4 drug (prescription only).

He could save more animals if he practiced to higher standards.

Being in the outback doesn't mean you can't use gloves/sterile techniques.

I'm also sure they don't show us the things that go wrong from his incompetence :)

If its the vet I am thinking of, he is terrible. Practices poor quality medicine in regards to best practice and sterility.

Just a quick note....

Just because you see a couple fleas doesnt mean the product isnt working.

They could be emergent adult fleas which have jumped onto your dog from the environment, and havent yet been killed.

If you have feral cats/possums through your backyard, you may never get to completely flea free environment as they will constantly drop flea eggs throughout your property.

If you go to the park/walk/someone elses house, they can pick up fleas.

Most people also know that if the pet has had a bath, the product cant be applied until the coat is 100% dry (I usually tell general public 48hrs to be safe!!)

Just wanting to put this out there, because alot of people seem to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to fleas and never ever seeing any.

Bit more info. It is much easier to understand perhaps why it may appear some flea products dont work if you understand everything about fleas/cycles/infestations.

Leo n I passed our foundation agility today Very happy with my boy!

He normally gets a bit lacklustre towards the end of class and doesn't tug as well, but right at the end doing start line stays he wowed me and went the tug fantastically :D

I highly recommend croydon dog obedience :) they are fantastic :)

I could do 17th after training (would get there about 12) :)

Do people think I should go out and buy a ladder to practice with?? We were shown how to do the exercise to increase awareness...if it really does help alot I will go buy one to practice with at home :)

I had my first agility lesson at dog club today :) We went pretty well, got introduced to a few new exercises which we have to practice.

Very excited to finally be doing agility with my boy :D He loves it!

I know the rate of infection in foxes is very high... From memory around 25%??

The potential is there for transmission, i don't do sr12 tho, only monthly chews.

Allergies are expensive to treat unfortunately. Atopica (cyclosporin) DOES work wonders though when used correctly! :)

am very new to obed/agility. Leo is my first dog.

Today we passed basic obedience at dog club :) now we get to learn how to do agility properly

Very excited!!

Favourite: Staffordshire Bull Terrier, nothing else compares!

Least Favourite: Poodle, mainly standard but not a fan of most Poodles.
