  1. Thankyou both. That makes me feel better, I was so worried about the poor little thing.
  2. I brought my puppy home yesterday, he is 8 weeks old and a Japanese Spitz. When I brought him home he passed a firm normal looking poo. I gave him some puppy milk and dried biscuits, which he had had before. Since then he has had the runs. This morning he also vomited so I took him to the vet who said he had an inflamed bowl most likely from the stress of leaving his mum and that puppy milk is the worst think I could of given him. He also told me to give him only water and a water and glucose mix (5mill every 4 hours) for the next 24 hours (until Tuesday PM) and then I have to give him a chicken, rice, bran and potato stew for a minimum of 7 days. Since then he has only had the runs twice once at mid day and once at 5 pm. The vet tried to make it seem like that is all I could feed him for ever and that I wouldn’t be able to move him on to dry food and that anything else would be really bad for him, like he was trying to scare me away from even giving him normal dry food. I don’t want to hurt my puppy and want what is best for him. Does anyone have any advice? And if his tummy is sensitive how can I give him heartworm tablets and things like that he needs? Also he told me I couldn’t use any products like advantage until the puppy is 12 weeks old. Is this true?
