My issue is the 'supposed' research into getting this particular crossbreed, when only a very short time ago the OP was emailing Labrador breeders. Not once, in any thread the OP started about wanting to get a new dog, were these crossbreeds mentioned. Sounds like an impulse buy to me!! edit to say: research? yeah right! just because i didnt post about wanting an american bulldog or aussie bulldog doesnt mean anything do you want to know what i had 4 breakfast? i did alot of research on both breeds and couldnt decide which i wanted, so when i saw these advertised i thought about it, took me 3weeks to decide, call it implulse if u like. back to topic?

this is totally off topic once again, but being the sucker i am i'll bite back. ppl who cross breed big bull breeds usually dont get much 4 there dogs in the first place so if it were money ur concerned about ide be abusing the ppl who cross lil cute dogs, also it is my personal chioce to go out and buy a mutt whom i bought after alot of consideration, when have you seen an american bulldog acting like it has an uneven temp? yes they are a handful but i knew that b4 i got him, like someone else said you being a board member yourself should know better than to slag of breeds, i once saw a dog whomm was supposedly an american pit bull nearly maul a puppy to death but ill be the first to stand up for the breed. maybe you shouldnt be so judgemental, he is crossed with an aussie bulldog which you didnt seem to be able to remember. its true that their may be a dog from that litter that ends up biting/mauling someone but i'll bet my bottom dollar it aint the dogs fault. aussie x american was the dog i wanted. if you have anything to add which might be on topic and helpful feel free.

What happened to a dog is what you make it? Your a member too and you should know not to classify certain breeds as having uneven temprements, you own an Amm Staff correct, well a lot of people say things about them as a breed aswell...please dont classify certain breeds as having uneven temps its not a fair statement at all The fact that is a cross breed has no baring on this issue either... Lets get back on topic or close the thread thank you!

but they are pretty good indicators of how well the person will cope and the level of maturity they will bring to the issue. So far Ash you have only appreciated those who defend, support or agree with you. That's natural I guess, but at least as far as I am concerned, what I posted was out of concern, not a desire to belittle or criticise. When I was 19, I was in diabolical difficulties on various fronts. The misjudgements of our youth often create the hardships that frame our character as adults. Good luck with the pup, the kids and the course. [ Its not a good indicator at all, you cant judge a book by its cover, therefore you can not judge a person by their age..... Just because you experience certain things in your life does not mean its the same for everyone else that age... Who cares if she has made mistakes in her past, that is her business and not anyones on here, personal circumstances should never have been brought into it, I would get defensive too if people had a go at me for my life decisions, especially when I came on here for some advice on dog behaviour! She is the only one that knows if she can handle two kids and two dogs, by the sounds of it she gets good help from family, she sounds like she is doing right by this dog and will continue to do right by this dog... However a puppy growling and nipping at that age is not on and I would definatly speak to someone professional about this, try ADT they come out and do home visits for around $80....well worth it to nip it in the butt now! thank you. 80 bucks sounds pretty cheap. thank you for the helpful response

[ i have taken the bad with the good, but do you have any idea what it is like when ur whole life is critized? i am a single mum because i fell in love at 16 to the wrong guy not because im a hooker who stands on the corner, my biggest life desitions so far have been to love a man older than me, move out, keep my pregnancy and become a mum at 17 and then 19 and in between them leave the father whom was abusing me, and along the way get 2 dogs! think of me what you will, and you are right i do have a strong willed character which means i will do what i put my mind to which inclueds doing all i can to make a good dog out of my pup conan, my lab had problems when i got her at 12weeks now she is very well rounded individual, age and a persons personal situation isnt a very good indication of much at all in my experiance but that is my opinion. all this is off topic anyway, all i wanted to know was how to disapline him so i didnt make things worse.

thank you so very much. like i said i have now found help else where, really appreciate your kind words. I am happy that the puppy has settled in and stopped growling . I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but this forum has really good moderators. The forum rules are listed near the top of the page. For future reference, if someone posts something like a personal attack that breaks the rules, go to the bottom on the post and hit the Report button. It is much better to do this than to respond to nasty comments. Troy will read the topic and remove offending responses and/or warn the posters. Good luck with your pup BP thank you i think he will be fine as i said im going to do obedience and agility with him, keep him socialised and exercised! yes i think ill do that if it happens again. kind regards ash.

omg! ok if i admitte to being a delinquinte child with no idea what im doing will that make you all feel better? the fact is i was young and stupid thought i loved someone who turned out to be a junky so i left him instead of making my kids grow up like scum, i rebelled like most teenages that was at age 13-14, i am now a family minded woman who has 2 kids and 2 dogs and is going back to school/uni and becoming a midwife, and wtf? my less than ideal situation? my kids are well looked after loved and adored by a whole family of ppl they dont go without, and throw me down and beat me for needing welfare, maybe i should of had an abortion and killed them instead of putting them thro the horrible life of having a teen mum and never knowing their bio dad? seems to me im more mature and less petty than most of u, if i wanted your opinion on how to live my life i would of asked. as for the dog do any of you actually know the breed? look it up. thanks for all the wonderful help.

first of all i do not own 3 dogs conan is my second dog the other dogs i talked about are my parents if u all need to know, and i put alot of thought into getting him i saved the money to buy him just like any of you would and i feed them better than most ppl feed thier dogs, worm ect. and i dont see why my age is a factor???im nearly 20 not 2, or the fact that i am a single stay at home mum? im sorry i do not have a man to look after me and still want to be a mother to my kids, as for the time i prob have more time for my animals than most of you, and im not getting a show lab because i dont have the means to travel around to all the shows, i thought personal attacks was high school crap, excuse me for asking, ide only had the pup for half a day when i posted the original post if any of you are interested he hasnt growled and is getting used to the other dogs i think he was nervous, as for the kids they are his favourite. i am so fuming now and doubt i will bother with this forum anymore i wanted help not a personal attack. edited to say this post is mostly for alanglen who seems to know so much about my personal life.

hi blacklabrador, yes i was waiting on a lab puppy but i want to show them and im not in the position to do that, ive been looking at bulldogs for a while, aussie bulldog is a new breed of bulldog (since 1980's) they arent reconised as a pure bred yet apparenty, from memory they are mostly british bulldogs with english staffy, boxer, bullmastiff, and now been breeding aussie to aussie for many generations, their a great dog.

i posted pics of him in the puppy pics post, honestly i think they just thought hmmm they will make nice puppies lets do it! all the pups were american bulldog looking personally i recon you wouldnt be able to tell their mum is aussie, he is a really nice pup apart from the growling he hasnt growled at the kids was playing with them this morning (under my very close and watchful eyes) he was fine, i think it may be a dominate thing.

thank you all, i will look at the sites, i am a pretty experianced dog owner and have done dog obediance with my other dogs, i kno the american bulldog is a very dominant breed i did my home work way b4 i got him, mum was there she is the aussie bulldog and was a lovely girl, sweet natured easy going, dad wasnt there, it was a planned mating, both dogs are apparently well bred, mum looked very healthy. i know it is not normal puppy behavour, planning on going to vets tomoz going to try puppy classes see if i can socialise it out of him.
