  1. Maddie is very cute and i am sure you will have lots of fun with her. I too live in Canberra and we got our Boxer puppy (Carter) about this time 2 years ago and i too thought it was to cold to have him out side during the day. He lived in the laundry during the day and my husband and i used to make a trip home each each day to feed him, let himout to the loo and stretch his legs.......Although at that age all they want to do is eat and sleep. I also did this for safety when he was small, then we put in a dog door in and since then he comes and goes as he pleases.....hard to imagine now that he was once little ! However if the day is sunny and you have a protected area with a kennel and blankets i am sure she would be fine outside during the day. Best of luck with your new addition
  2. Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, I love it.....another great work of art. Cheers Mel. I am such a "GUMPY".....i can not work out how to add this as my signature, please dont fall off your chair laughing..... : :D

  4. Hi Harminee, I have been watching this thread for a while and you have done some incredible signatures, so i was wondering if you had time to create another master piece for my clan. Many Thanks Mel. Carter Cleo Zelda (RIP) Muffin Carter + Cleo
  5. I agree with the pineapple in their food. My Boxer was also a poo eater and I started adding crushed pineapple to her dinner (Raw chicken mince + vegies) which she loved and it stopped her eating her poo. You are luck if yours own eats it while outside, Cleo started to bring it in the house as snacks.....lol Glad you got your baby back. Good Luck
  6. Can i ask where you get the 5kg buckets from as this is a great price. Cheers
  7. I run with my Boxer who also when we started wanted to gallop, but with some patience and a lot of running I have managed to teach him to run at the pace that i am running. I did this by teaching him that HALT meant slow down which means i dont have to pull on the lead and rip my shoulder out of its socket. Everytime his pace picks up i say halt and he knows to slow down. I started training him just walking at first as you have more control and if he did not slow down i would stop, he soon got the hang of it. Good luck, but it is well worth it as there is nothing like going for a run with your dog for mind and body for both of you.
  8. Hope it works as well for your Boxer as it did for Carter.
  9. We had the same problem with our Boxer, he used to try and drink to contents of the water bowl in gulp..lol). So we made the water bowl smaller so he could not take such big gulps of water at a time. We use the K9 water bowl which you can get from Maadii pets (www.maadiipets.com.au) since only small amounts of water fill the drinking hole he can not gulp large amounts and it has stopped his water belly issue....it also stops him trying to sit in the water bowl....lol Good luck Mel.
