  1. I would LOVE to go to the trial great prep for us so Nina gets used to the grounds :( I will try and convince my mum to take me :D

Maybe we could do another meet up thing w/ Vickie like last year?

Nina's A-Frame has defiantly improved she touches the contact now YAAAY!! XD

So I hope I can come to ur trial i'd love to meet you and ur dogs :)

hahahaha nice lol! everyone has their own methods!! lol Agilityoodle you should so come to April's Deerbush even if ur not trialing just come down watch and walk the courses and have a fun time lol! The target training lol I did that a fair bit with Jock but I got over teaching it and jock got over learning it lol! so we're working as we go now I'm retraining his dog walks. But Jockjs always been a good dog at running doen the whole dogwalk and not jumping off but now I'm getting slwer and he's getting faster its heaps harder so teaching him is helping lol i'm teaching stop two on two off lol the Aframe is a slide down to the bottom lol its probably different for u guys ahving larger dogs lol!!

As for the weaving well at my club we used netted weaves but we progressed right up to open weave lol All I have to practise is a clean entry from another obstical lol! so far its stop wait okay weave :o!! But its coming so much better hahahahahahaha!!

  2. OMG GOOD LUCK AT UR TRIAL!!! I hope you do reeeally well :D i'd love for you to take picturesof our trial do you think you'll be at our first trial at Deer Bush Dog Trg. Club on the 13th of July?

Answer: The weird thing w/ Nina's weaves is i din't use ANY of the fancy methods, (she has slowed down slightly but i'll try and fix that :)) I just used a toy to lure her in and out and eventully she got it :) sooo proud of my girlie  and w/ the contacts I used a target plate with a peice of food on the top and she eventully learnt to touch the target when I told her to once she learnt that I put it on the end of the dog-walk / A-Frame and it worked yipee :o

YEPPP I GOT MY DOGS NSW STUFF BACK HOORAYYYYYYY!!! I want to register for the trial butit's a tad too early oh weeelll

but yeah i'll talk to you soonish :) GOOD LUCK for ur trial :)

thanks. Um I may be on msn sumtime in the next little while but I'm working hard on a few other things lol and i'm working 2nite so I won't be on at all! but I will get on sumtime soon lol I'm typing this during bio class :D Jock and I are heading off to Deerbush trial on April 20th so that should be fun as he's doing so well and I'm really proud of him.

Question: how did you teach Nina to weave?? and Contact?? I'm using the guided weave method and the two on two off for contacts, The A-frame is hard to teach a little dog how to touch on lol so I just make sure he slides right to the bottom of the frame!!

Have you got all your registry paper work back yet?? I hope so lol and I'll take fotos of Nina If I'm at that trial I plan on being there!! lol I'm no where near as a good at photography as vickie but I do have a newish camera so we'll see what I can do lol!!

Email me if you want I'm happy to talk!

Well lets see whats happening, last week jock did about 3 hrs of training and he's coming along so well, he's finally begining to hit his contacts which has taken alot of work and his weaving is going really well but he doesn't do it perfect everytime! :cooldance: so we will work on it! His listening toi me is getting better to probably cos my handeling is getting so much better as I learn more lol!

  4. I have the Agility In a Bag and I think it's really great!

It's easy to carry around so I can easily take it up to a school oval and practise. The weave poles do fall apart (but thats normally cos i rushed to put them up

But we love it Nina gets wonderful excircise!

    Hope this Helps

  5. Agilityoodle, I haven't forgotton, we have been out and I haven't gotton around to doing so yet, so I'm sorry

I do take awhile to do things, cause I never remember to do it when I'm on then when I get off I go, "oh right, oops :scold: " sorry

    hey there

    don't worry bout it :)

have u asked ur mum bout the MSN thing?

  6. Hi,

I don't do any sport with my dog, but hopefully will do agility when we move (in about 2 - 5 months) and would love to find out how easy it is, to do it? I am going to use either my IG or my mums Whippet (my CC is too scared to do sport with and I don't want to make him really scared)

    Thanks :)

Hi there, dog sports are great fun and it depends on your dog and your handling and training skills.

For me training Nina in agility was easy because she was bold and had alot of drive.

But once you get there and feel that excitment rush through you it worth it! :o

OK, I will need to have alot of practise  especially for Dante (9 month old Iggy) he has no self control, whatsoever :)

Storm (whippet) should be easier, just show him the ball ;) plus (I make, makeshift jumps) he loves to jump, I taught him when he was young, now he jumps on the benches :(:) apparently its my fault

    :( (sorry OT :p )

Storm is pretty responsive though  I need a garden to practise though :p we only have a balcony, pretty big mind you...

ETA: I would take him to agilty training, but we live half an hour - 45min away, and the only class is at 7.30pm, so a bit far for my mum to take me :(

thats a shame it's so far where abouts are you?

i have a small backyard too and before I got some equipment i used brooms and stuff too (ah good times.. lol) If you have a park or something nearby then i suggest you get this Agility in A Bag thing from AfforableAgility.com thats what i have and it doesn't take up alot of room, it does cost a bit of money but if u can't train at a club then it's great practise

If ur not too far maybe we could train together idk my MSN is [email protected] if ur interested :)

but thats up to ur parents. :p

  7. Hi, this is Chloe, using my Mum's login. I am 9 and I love doing agility. I would like to enter trials but I am not old enough yet and I don't have my own dog.

Here is a video my Mum just took of me running her Trim. Mum does not let me run her very much so it was exciting. I love Trim very much, sometimes she sleeps on my bed.

    Hope you like it.

    from Chloe

    Wow Trim is fast!!!!

And you were really good at handling her, I hope you get an agility dog soon because agility is just so much fun

and you have alot of potential :o

  8. We had fun! Next time it definitely has to be on a Sunday, so that we can be a bigger group.

I put a few pics in the photo forum.

I just want to say a huge well done to Sam (SnoopyJocks). There was a vast improvement in both her dogs by the end of the day.

At the beginning of the day, Snoopy started off weaving by relying on Sam to guide him in & out with her hand. By his last run, not only had he cut around a second off his time, but didn't need her hand signals anymore.

She also managed to get some real enthusiasm out of Jock, it was hot & he wasn't too keen early up, but was bouncing around like a maniac when we finished.

Also a big thank you to Cedar, who worked so happily for 4 different handlers throughout the morning.

A great day, I'm looking forward to the next one! Thanks guys.

    Hey there

sounds like you had alot of fun. Can you organise another one for this year, i'd love to come and meet fellow dol agilities :)

  9. LOL, I was wondering where this came from, then I realised that all but the last post were Jan LAST year.

Agilityoodle, where are you located, we might be able to recommend a club that would suit you.

woops lol i just got so excited  i forgot to check to dates. I live in the sutherland shire area in sydney. let me know asap if ur going to have another one of these :)

  10. I've just spent a very enjoyable half an hour looking at all your clips on Youtube.

You are one very talented young lady, both as a trainer, handler and videographer (is that a word?).

Well done to you & Nina :) You are a great team! Where do you train?

My daughter is 9 & would love to do agility but I won't let her run my dogs (what a mean Mum I am  ) Not really, it's just that the older 2 are retired, one is trialling & one is just starting training, so it's all a bit hard.

Here she is at 6YO running Trim in the backyard:

I better not introduce her to you...she will drive me crazy!

Thank you very much and thank you for watching my videos

I train at my local oval in the Sutherland shire and at the Sutherland Shire Dog Training Club. Maybe she could trial the one your training, beacause i think every kid she do agility, it's such a wonderful sport :mad:rofl:

lol i wouldn't mind meeting your daughter, i drive people crazy too  If she wants to she can talk to me on MSN [email protected] but thats up to you as a parent

  11. hi

i'm 13 and i have a 10 yr old staffy called kennex royal princess.

a few years ago she had a big problem with separation anxiety and she ran away. More than once she ended up at the police station. This one time she was jumping up so high she was nearly strangling her self on the top of a 8ft high cage. I took her home and decided i would try agility and she still loves it. I get tired before she does. she often trys to jump our 6ft fence but my dad always catches her.

    x

Wow sounds like an amazing agility dog, have you started trialling yet? Maybe we'll see you at a trial sometime (We start trialling in July)
