My theory is hat it goes deeper than just the show scene. Across the country, there is a general lack of care or pride these days in pedigree dog ownership. It used to be a "badge of honour" to own an animal with a fine pedigree as a family pet, these days the dubious honour seems to belong to who can pay the most money for a generic looking mongrel puppy with a stupid made up game.
Dog showing is a fairly negative experience........it's not very friendly, there's not much excitement or appreciation from spectators, it's pretty bitchy and then there's face judging.............but I doubt any of that has changed in recent years, I expect it's always been like that.
Look closely at the pedigree dog world in general........the limit register, the purchases of puppies all wrapped and bound with red rape and legalese, the influx of designer dogs foisted on the public..........and these puppies ARE taking places in homes that would formerly have been occupied by pedigree dogs...........and you might see why dog shows aren't as popular as they used to be.
All the above. Big ticks to Paragraph 1 & 3

I've been using it here at shows in SA all year with no problems.
Thank you. I will pass it on :D
the program has been around for over 10 years, I guess there is a possibility eventually it won't work with new operating systems.

a great win for your friend and your breed !
all the best and lets hope they do well with this dog, he sounds really promising.

yes, Trish and Ian used to live in Tassie, I believe they moved to Melbourne so that Trish could have the best possible treatment available to her.
Ian was very devoted and caring for Trish who was a treasure.
-
That is very sad to hear, my sympathies to Ian and family. RIP Trish.

(Flame suit on)
I was really shocked previously to read that people ventured out in this terrible weather to attend a dog show. And now given the devastation of an inland Tsunami less than 24 hours later very close by, those that did must be feeling very lucky to get home safely. I'm sure reports will occur of many that have lost their treasured pets in the flooding.

Too easy, I'd definitely choose a DOB of 1.1.11

People thinking others in a public forum will be able to keep a topic such as this "light hearted"
No way....

It was a great day and my friends and I had a ball. I loved all the extras - marquees at ring side, stalls, food (strawberry pancakes - yum!) and extra competitions - esp. Fashions on the Field. I had a sore face from laughing and smiling and the judge made that event so much fun too. Owner/Breeder/Handler Sweepstakes/ junior handlers such big classes, all great to watch.

I hope you find your mobile Angelsun.
So proud of my Ziggy for winning BIG even though I accidently kicked up some mud near his face.
My babies also did quite well for their very first show and in horrible conditions.
The grounds were absolutly horrible by 2pm.
We arrrived 9:15am and group four was up to Whippets.
The walk way infront of the two rings were horrible.
I hope everyone got out of the parking lot ok, I know several cars had to pulled out by tractor.

I don't believe you can accelerate hair growth.
You can:
Improve the condition of the coat that is growing back with both nutritional and externally applied products
Use grooming products that make the coat appear thicker
