No one on here with any results to share?
-
For a dog 12 - 20 kg Minimum $6000 EXCLUDING the cost of the dog which of course is entirely a negotiation between you and the owner.
ETA. The size of the dog could see that cost much higher or slightly lower.

I wanted to share that the outfits worn by the group/BIS winners at the Sydney Royal were LOVELY! I suggest that anyone wanting ideas to check out those photos because it really DOES matter what you wear in the ring. Dress for Success!

Looking back over this thread, I guess might lead you to believe otherwise, but there are a lot of people who make an effort to wear suitable clothes and look the part, at all of our shows, no matter where they are held. And you will often hear of people talking about their new suit purchased for the big shows, it's all part of the fun.

Have you girls with the 'sore feet after a weekend of showing' problems tried the skechers shoes?
Yes Skechers do look great, but don't have anywhere enough support for me.
Also remember in Victoria, we have an indoor pavillion and the floor is CONCRETE, we are NOT running on grass when the show is held inside.
-
And it wasn't even close to 17 degrees....
-
Thank goodness it was inside, the wise decision ;) It would have been terrible outside. Thanks to the committee.
-
Excellent, won't be going if it's raining - I have a promise to myself and I simply don't do dog shows that are held in the rain anymore....
-
I haven't been showing much for a few years....this venue the Albury/Wodonga Equestrian Centre is new to me...... has a dog show been held there before???
Is the show pavillion undercover?
-
no, probably because tomorrow is the 10th, not the 17th....
-
What is the outcome for the dog in question.....?

When the tips of a coat change colour it's usually because the coat is going through a change and it is the "dead/dry" coat ends. You could use a rubber brush to help this hair come out quicker. Sometimes the diet can influence the depth of colours in your coat, so you could try something else and see if after about 6 weeks it makes a difference. The catch there though is that in that time the new coat could have come through so it will be hard to know if the food was the cause until the next time the coat changes.
Black dogs often get a red cast to their hair with old coat. I had it happen once, changed food and it never happened again.

I spoke with the people in the Purina VIP stand today as they had a TV set up and had the BOB pics on a slideshow. You can buy a CD with the pics of your breed on it for $50. My friend's OES got puppy of breed and she was told she could have her pics on a flash drive on the spot for $50.
$50 - EXPENSIVE!!

Just look at the title of the article - that alone says how much the person writing it actually knows.....
Fears grow for the dog? Why on earth would there be fears for the dog! Geez

Definitely Sas. Surely the supplier/manufacturer will sort this out for you. Why don't you just send them the photo and then give them a phone call to talk about it?
LOL AT ELLZ
-
My last bottle of Urine Off was a great product. I wonder why would they change the ingredients?
-
Baby in Show was the Samoyed puppy's first show also - maybe we have some new people now with the showing bug - what a great start!!

I would simply view entries to cancelled shows as a donation to my hobby. Afterall, at the end of the day I spend much more money getting to a show, food, petrol etc etc. The entry fee is minimal. And the poor show secretary who has probably done more work than anyone, doesn't end up with anything except everyones gripes.

I don't understand why the temp issue? Why do we all pay out so much money for Cool Coats, Cool Mats, Fans with ice blocks attached to them for the front of our trollies and etc?
The issue is that not everyone does the right thing, nor makes the right decisions.
People notice those people, not the ones that do all the things you mentioned in your post. Inevitably all get tarnished with the same brush. Then rules like this have to be made to protect the potential innocent and helpless victims of others possible foolishness. I don't begrudge any such rules, it doesn't hurt any one.
-
I would have just contacted the makers lol
http://laserlites.com.au/ - has a phone number, generally they are very helpful.
This was the first thing I did. They apparently dont give advice on using their products any more :D

My OH is happy I have what he calls "a healthy past time". He feels that my having Dogs and Horses is still cheaper than what some women spend on say,
HAIR
ACRYLIC NAILS
CLOTHES
EATING OUT
CIGARETTES
ALCOHOL
THE LATEST DECOR
ART CLASSES
BALLET LESSON FOR THE KIDS
PRIVATE SCHOOLS
BOTOX
GEE I'M GLAD MY SISTER DOESN'T READ DOL ;)
I watched ACA a few weeks back when they had friends grouping together to buy tan machines and hair removal machines. A few of them mentioned that, before they pooled expenses together, their monthly cost on beauty treatments was around $300-400. I nearly had a heart attack
:D There is no way I spend that on the dogs.
Oops forgot I was just buying a trailer. ;)
are you forgetting the people who do all that AND show dogs?
-
everyone else too scared to comment??? Surely someone else has an opinion on this.....

If you would like the option of wearing different types of footwear (I guess you wear runners all the time and not just at dog shows due to the shin splints?) maybe custom orthodics would give you some freedom? Also, there are many brands of footwear that have stylish selections and are made with foot/shin/leg/back issues in mind. If you are interested in learning more about them, let me know and I will be happy to share some brands.
Thanks, that would be great to know your suggestions. I have Rockports which are great but have only ever found lace up shoes that give me the support in the soles that I require. And I wear runners that are professionally fitted and cost a lot.
I don't wear runners all the time as I manage ok wearing regular shoes when I don't have to run in them . Only find I get sore when I am required to jog/run or if I'm walking a long way.

Dont understand..................why would you kick yourself for not entering?????????????
Judges Handling Dogs
in General Dog Discussion

Can any one please direct me to the regulations regarding showing under a judge that has handled your dog and similar situations? I've looked and just can't find the relevant rules/regulations page.
