  1. When we enter a show we are asking for the judges opinion on that day. The judge has to sign a challenge/BOB certificate that says " I am clearly of the opinion that this exhibit is of such outstanding merit as to be worthy to qualify for the title "Champion". So the judge on that day must have thought, in their opinion, that on the day the three bitches were not worthy of gaining points to become a Champion. The important thing here is though 'on the day'. If the judge spoke to the exhibitors, then they would know what the judges reasoning was, which is good, because I have seen some judges non award challenges without any reason given to the exhibitors. You say that two of these bitches have won consistently at Class group level, but that is competing against their own age group, no points given for a title and the judge is not signing a certifcate. But just because other judges have awarded them before, doesn't mean the next judge will, it is their opinion on the day that we pay for, thats the nature of dog showing :)
  2. On OZ Show last night, the clubs Secretary Rod Bennets, said that all groups will be judged inside on Saturday. They will wait and see what the weather will be for Sunday and will let people know Saturday night and they will put it on OZ Show on Saturday arvo/evening too.
  3. The shows are open to the public so you are more than welcome to come and have a look. The show on Saturday starts at 4pm and the show on Sunday starts at 10am. So anytime around these are a good time to get there. Have fun!
  4. The schedule says that the show will be held inside :)
  5. We had to show our bench slip to get past security and up to the drop off point. I'm an RAS member and they scanned my pass but the person in front of me just seemed to wander in with dogs in tow and didn't have to hand anything over. Apparently you can buy admission at the gate without the transport, you just can't buy it online or anywhere except at the gates. There is nowhere to buy a ticket at the dog entrance. If they make you have an extra ticket then you would have to walk all the way round to where there is a ticket office. Hope this helps... Thankyou Havasneeze. Much appreciated :)
  6. I hope someone can help me please I am sorry if this has been answere already, i am in a bit of a flap Do I need to purchase more admission tickets?? There are 3 of us that will be attending. I have 2 admission tickets and a bench slip? If I do need to buy more tickets, does anyone know where I can purschse these apart from online and can you buy just admission without the transport? Thanks in advance
  7. Jo Kramars Whippet Grand Ch Arjai Almost Criminal won Dogs Vic Dog of the Year Stephanie Rickards Papillion Ch Basilika Lady Portland won Dogs Vic puppy of the year. Congratulations to the winners and to all the competitors and their beautiful dogs. It was a great night with a lot of lovely dogs out there. The handlers all scrubbed up well too
  8. I agree the rules need to be enforced. It is becoming a joke especially when you make the effort of getting there as the gates open to see spots have been saved for their friends and the friends don't turn up until just before judging starts. if they want to save spots for their friends who are coming later don't go across rindside go back. Make it fair for the people that do get up early. I also thought there was a rule about leaving walkways, but that rule seems to have been forgotten about too. Setting up a 'village' makes it hard for people who set up behind to get through. Thinking of others not just yourself doesn't hurt! I don't believe it is up to the committee 'volunteers' to do. They have enough to do. It shouldn't be left for exhibitors to 'dob' in fellow exhibitors either. Perhaps EF's idea is the way to go.
  9. That's what I find interesting, it's a conflict yet they are advertising that this is what they will be doing. I thought the Dogs Vic policy was only for shows held at Bulla and Kcc Park. But saying that there are alot of people that set up the night before the shows at these venues!
  10. will be interesting to see if the actual figures will get posted anywhere (and the results...) Did we ever find out the actual absentee % ?? There must have been more than 50% attending because dogs have been awarded the full points on the pointscore.
  11. Black Sat was 48 at KCC park (from my car therm which I wouldn't take as totally accurate) at 9am when I finished running dogs. By midday here it was 68 deg in the shade - you literally could not move if you went outside. So if it was this hot on Black Saturdaywhy did you put your dogs in a car to take them to KCC PArk for a run. Surely it would have been too hot for this too??
  12. Some clubs are working on raising the funds for the lights, rumored to cost approx $130,000. Yes I know Sway and congrats to the many volunteers that are doing something about it and making the effort to raise the money. But my point is the VCA could put the lights in using the money already raised and maybe get some funds from the shows in the future to help pay the lights off.
  13. Probably better off to email the VCA office when it reopens.
  14. Great Poll Sway! I think it is about time that the VCA put the lights on the front lawn area at KCC Park to allow more room for all exhibitors and to enable more air flow. I love twilight shows, I think they have more atmosphere.

  17. I wonder why there have been a few shows moved from their original grounds to Bulla? I know the Yarrawonga show coming up was also moved to Bulla.

  19. Have used Gillmans and they have lovely sashes and rosettes and are great to work with http://www.stewartgillman.com.au/pages/rosettes.html Love a nice Rosette and I think Gillmans are great:)
  20. I have sent Estelle an email, she was kind enough to call me back and we have it all sorted now. One in Aust bred and one in Open. What a lovely lady. Estelle is a lovely lady. Glad you were able to work it out
  21. I wonder if they would put one in Aust bred for you now that entries are still being taken? Maybe it is worth a try.
  22. For a start my dogs will not show to their best with another handler, I also like to show my own dogs. If it was not for the dogs I would not be a member of a club there for also on a committee. There for a catch 22 no show no committee, their for club suffers. Agree, without a hard working committee, the show can't go on! So no one would be showing!! I think the rules about committee showing/ handling at shows doubts the integrity of the judge. JMHO
