  1. For The Boy Who Helped Mend My Heart

Rest in peace Zedley - you were one of those very lucky dogs who was loved and cherished his whole life. Run free lovely boy. Lorraine, keeping you in my thoughts. I'm not that far from you so if you need anything at all, please just let me know. - Amanda

Hi everyone, Gretel I hope you're feeling better soon. Great pic of Vienna and Jersey - they must be great friends. Sunnyflower, huge congrats on your beautiful baby girl. :champagne: Hope you and Audrey will soon be settled in at home.

Sunnyflower, your new pup is absolutely gorgeous! I hope he finds a special place in your heart soon but I think it's only natural after losing Oscar so recently, for you to feel a little detatched. HugUrPup, that's a very cute pic of Miley in her jumper - her ears are awesome!

Kiwibum, Lacey is a little cutie and I love that red collar. Thank you Liebhunde - It means a lot to know how much everyone cares! Surprisingly I am actually in really good spirits, I think because despite being there with him and Marcus & I both burying him it still doesn't feel real. I am sure reality will hit but I think I am so busy keeping myself busy I am not allowing it to hit! I actually don't think that makes any sense. I'm glad you're in good spirits Sunnyflower, I think whatever works for you is good.

Lol, well amazingly, Leah was quite accepting of me also as I stuck a little shallow lid under her bottom just as she started to squat this morning. It was dark and wet and windy but I was determined lol - she got quite a suprise to find me behind her so suddenly but she kept on piddling for me. :D Love Lily and her muppet mouth. I also have a little laugh when my two get up from a nap with wonky mouths that haven't fallen back into position yet. The pic with her chewing on your slipper is too cute - I remember when my toes/socks/slippers always seemed to be in Charlie's mouth!

Thanks Gretel, I'll have to look through the cupboards. I don't have a meat tray but I'll try to find something rectangular and shallow perhaps. I might put her on lead first thing and try my luck. Lol at Bree being on your arm, you're a softie like me.

Ohhhhhh Lily is adorable! Congrats Bindi~Boo. So glad she's getting on so well with Georgea. I took Leah to the vets this afternoon because she has a bit of a leakage problem which I've suspected for a long time but never actually seen it happen until yesterday. They are going to put her on hormone tablets but said that they wanted to rule out urinary infection first which unfortunately involves me trying to get a sample. I can't see how I'm supposed to get a bowl under her when she wee's, she always squats so low to the ground that she literally touches it. Anyone got any ideas?

Rest in peace Oscar, you beautiful boy. I'm so sad for you and your mum and dad that your time on this earth was way too short but I'm happy that you all packed a lot of loving into your short life. Run free and keep looking for golf balls. xxx

Biggest hugs for you Sunnyflower. Oscar was a beautiful pup and the middle picture looks so much like my Charlie. The last one with the wind in his face and ears blowing back is great, a picture to treasure, seeing him doing what he really loves. Sending you strength and some gentle hugs for your gorgeous boy. xx

Tombrisbane, what a lovely pic of Harley and Jacqui! They look as though they'll be great company for each other. Monteba, big congrats to you all, I'm sure you're loving being a grandmother. Well done Koda!! Having lots of fun here keeping the dogs away from Lottie the new guinea pig. I've certainly made a lot of extra work for myself - I don't mind cleaning out the hutch every day but alternating who's got access to the garden (dogs vs guinea pig) and trying to convince Leah that spending half her day in my bedroom watching the hutch out the window is a bit of a waste of time, is all a bit exhausting, lol.

OMG...this is exactly what D'Artagnan does. He runs the fence line and across the garden in an almost rehearsed pattern (like a crazy OCD kinda way) sniffing the ground like a bloodhound. He then makes this noise at birds which he does with nothing else...it's too high to be a bark, almost a scream. People stare at us in public like we're murdering him - it is that bad. BUT, he's fine - when we walk him away and he's calmed down. Its like he loves the birds so much, he just has to tell them. We got him at 12 months and I do honestly think he's a little special in the head. My husband and I laugh about it because we love him no matter what, but when he's having one of his "special" moments, we do look at each other and quote a line from Harry Potter "Do you see the nargles" There are other things he does as well which are very OCD. Whenever I come home, and I am in the lounge, he will run right past me, go to the front door, touch it with his nose and run back. It's the same pattern every day! There are loads of quirks but the garden, birds and front door are the most prolific  How funny that is! Charlie has little OCD things that make no sense at all - one which comes to mind is that every time I collapse the ironing board to put it away he jumps up and races to get a toy out of his toy box. He's done it for years now and I iron nearly every day so it's very ingrained, lol. Ooooh congrats, hope it's going well. Awww too cute! And Gretel, you had a blenheim!!!! Congrats Liebhunde, how exciting! Your new grandson shares a birthday with my son - he's 18 today (and he was nearly a month early too!)

I hope she does get it to the vet, I would have thought there would likely be puncture wounds too? Still, if it's eating, that's a good sign. I tried to warn my neighbours months ago about cats getting to their guinea pig but they didn't make any changes to their set-up so in the end I just had to offer to take it myself and thankfully they agreed. I'm currently trying to find a rabbit hutch which will go out on our balcony in a sheltered area and it will be away from the dogs but ideally I'd also like to give it time out on the grass in a run as well but I'll have to get Leah past the "OMG, RAT RAT RAT!!!!" stage. It's so hard to know Sunnyflower but my thinking would be that as long he still finds pleasure in his day, he's still eating well, still enjoying cuddles, lying in the sun etc. then I would say it's not time yet. If everything he does is painful and the vets have no answer and he has little quality of life, then it's definitely time.
