  1. Black male greyhound urgently needs help. Harry was recently retired from racing and now only has till this Friday to find a home or Harry will be sent to the RSPCA. I am able to assist with transportation if there is anyone who can help him. Please contact me for the owners details. They have been trying for weeks to rehome him but people say they will come and dont turn up. Harry is currently living in the Wollongong / Dapto area.
  2. I have a couple if someone can tell me where to post them. Thanks Karen
  3. That looks like the woody I had at home. Will contact them re microchip details. I am still happy to temp care and transport (especially by favourite greys) but I would like a more 'switched on' council. They left it from June last year and then send me another letter. I don't get it. Thanks for all the help. Karen
  4. I transported and looked after (for a few days) a male, brindle greyhound for a rescue in Victoria. The dogs name was woody and he went to Vic by gte transport about 12-18 months ago. My local council are giving me grief as woody is microchipped in my name. After stat decs were accepted in June last year they are now on my case again. If the rescue could pm me with their details I will have it changed over. Thanks Karen
  5. I have 3 small fleece dog rugs to give to a rescue or pound. Please let me know if anyone can us them.
  6. And to the mums and dads who have helped. My mum and dad have helped me by picking up dogs from the pound for me when I was fostering them. Dad for building a whelping box in 2 hours when a desperate greyhound in the pound was already whelping and needed urgent help. Or mum for taking a dog to the airport and putting it in the crate whilst shedding tears for the dog she had only know for a few weeks. Again thanks to mum who gives the evil eye to those surrendering their dog to the pound for a stupid reason and finally thanks from the poor little dog at the pound that was being hosed at the back of the kennel because it was too small to jump onto the bed out of the way, that kennel girl sure was told the right way to hose a kennel out. The unsung heros of rescue, transporting and fostering.

  8. I am trying to track down a book on training 'search and rescue dogs and the DVD 'What is your dog saying'. Have only found them in USA stores but was hoping that someone maybe able to suggest where I can buy them in Australia.
  9. I would love the details if you could send them to me. Thanks for your help Karen
  10. Sorry my description was a bit off. Private lessons are fine. I just didn't want to go to a session where there were many dogs and you only have a short session of work.
  11. Does anyone know of any courses that cover 'scent detection' in NSW. Would prefer one on one training course.
  12. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase some secondhand agility equipment. I'm after a couple of jumps, tunnel, A frame, weaving poles and a see-saw. . Yes basically the whole set. Would be for a medium size dog They would need to be located in NSW. Thanks Karen
  13. I don't do any obedience or agility trialling but I love to watch Hungarian Puli's doing agility - please don't take offence but they look like a flying mop when they launch over the jumps.
