  1. I know someone recently who was charged $275. The dog was owned by someone overseas and escaped the care it was in and it took a while to locate it and sort everything out.
  2. Woo-hoo, I can't think of anyone more deserving. You are so committed to rescue and put so much time into not only the foster dogs, but mentoring carers, pound liaison, equipment manager etc, etc, etc and you always remain happy and friendly. Oh and I should ad that you have been doing it forever (well ARFs forever anyway). We need more clones of you in rescue! Congrats Lyn!
  3. Amazing makeovers! It is incredible what a bit to TLC does for the dogs. Well done.
  4. I don't think they come more unique than Jess :)
  5. Let me know if you didn't get anything, I might have something here.
  6. Almost 4 years ago we saved Amelie (now Jess) from Hawkesbury with help from the amazing volunteers there. After a cleft pallet operation, she took her crazy blue eyes with estagmis into a new loving home. She was post 100 here http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/188756-ex-hawkesbury-poundies/page__st__98 She was at the Million Paws Walk today and it was so wonderful to see her so happy and healthy, she has never looked better :) Best day seeing her :) This one is for Kidspirit, Juice and Nic. Isn't she still beautiful :)
  7. Have passed on AWDRI details - fingers crossed :) thanks everyone
  8. Hi all Is there a Queensland Rescue out there that can help an 11yo kelpie in the Brisbane area. I understand that he is good natured, has a bit of arthritis and sadly his owners are moving into an aged care facility. A vet nurse from here recently moved up that way and contacted us as they hadn't had any luck with RSPCA and another large shelter. If you might be able to help, let me know and I can put you in touch with the vet nurse who is trying to help. Thanks Raelene
  9. Me too LOLAFOLATA. I have a very large one that isn't collapsible if that is handy. I'm not using it at the moment. Hope dear Daisy Mae heals quickly :)
  10. Can't say thank you enough to the amazing Heather at Adelaide All Breed Dog Rescue. No wonder you have a MDBA award :) Appreciate you picking up the pieces and saving a life. R
  11. If we cannot locate the owner, rescuer of this girl, is there any rescues in South Australia that might be able to help her out? She is apparently very friendly and well-loved (portly around the middle). Approx 7 yrs old.
  12. Here is a picture of the girl. Please contact me ASAP if you think that you may have rehomed this girl and I can pass on pound details.
  13. I now have a pic which I will post later when I get home. Very friendly Staffy x, red with white chest. I'm pretty sure she came from Qbyn Pound as is on NSW Companion Animals Register.
  14. Hi I have just been contacted today to be advised that a red female Staffy type dog born 2006 is being transferred to the Council Pound in Two Wells in SA. She was found in the Main Street of Two Wells. It is likely that she has been expounded from Queanbeyan Pound NSW or DAS Canberra and her microchip has not been updated as she is still in my name. Can all rescuers that have rehoused dogs to that area please check records as this dog is now in a precarious position in the pound.
  15. They have been deemed not suitable through GRR as the dog will sleep outside the door in a kennel in their covered pergola area. The dog will be allowed to be inside with family but will sleep outside. I can vouch that it is a loving home. I've known them for well over 20 years and they adore their pets, they have the best of care, and have never rehoused one.
  16. Thanks everyone for your replies. Apologies I was offline over the weekend. Have been in contact with local Goldy rescue. Loreley ex-breeders dog is ok if suitable. Located ACT.
  17. Sorry I was unable to find get the "move to old" button to come up. I have a good friend who wants to adopt a golden retriever. It is a great semi-retired home with a loving family. Looking for a good natured, easy going dog which is good with young children (close family with lots of grand kids) and cats (there is a resident dog friendly cat). Would need to be dog friendly but will be an only dog. They recently lost their rescue BC who lived happily to old age. They were treated a little unthought fully through rescue so I thought I would check out what else might be around to help them out.
  18. Hi Kobi'sDaisy We hope you enjoy your move to Canberra :) There is no specific greyhound rescue around here, however there are all breed rescues who take Greyhounds. I foster with ARF (www.fosterdogs.org) and we currently have two greyhounds available for adoption. I was minding Hudson for a bit and he is LOVELY. Hope that helps? Regards Raelene
  19. Oh phooey, didn't realise I started this in the general area. Have put into urgent rescue...
  20. Kelpie Male approx 1 year This is a lovely young man. He is friendly with other dogs and often gets out to run with the other male kelpie in the pound and has been friendly with the three pups. He allowed a whole body check and though excited he really leaned in for a good schmooze. He will be an active boy but wasn't totally nuts when testing. He really likes the ranger and LOVES his food so should be very easy to train. Gorgeous boy.
  21. There are two kelpies at a regional pound nearby to Canberra and DUE NOW. If a rescue group can assist either of these two Mr Nice Guys, please contact me via PM asap. Kelpie Male approx 5 years This is a sweet man who is a little more laid back than the other boy. He is still keen and alert but really loves a cuddle and is a little more shy. He has been a home with the person who found him and loves him but unfortunately can't keep him. He gets on well with other dogs and is generally quite well behaved and seems to have good recall. He needs a good bath and brush but overall seems in good condition. A lovely boy!
