  1. I have found a fantastic lady who does Bowen & Reiki on Dugan. She is mobile too which is awesome. http://www.unleashedmuscles.com
  2. Fantastic news Cassie, so glad to hear he is home safe & sound. Your relief must be out of this world!
  3. Oh Cassie , sending healing thoughts to Hudson and hoping for some better news today. Bloat is such a scary thing , big hugs to you, your ex and your big big boofer
  4. Wow Katie is growing so fast!!! What a doll
  5. There is the Doggie Paddle at Ocean Reef Vets, you can take your dogs for a swim there. I used to take Dugan for Hydrotherapy but you could just book the pool without a therapist for an hour. You need to ring a book a session time though, details are below http://www.oceanreefvet.com.au
  6. Can totally relate to this one....Had a friend who used to bring her dog univited all the time - full of fleas & jumped all over the furniture & got hand fed from the table!!!!. Apparently because he was a small breed couldn't do much harm My old dog used to get so put out it wasn't fair. He was such a well behaved boy but I never assumed he would automatically be invited anywhere if we were. Eventually I had to have words with her & it contributed to the end of the friendship. Even my daughter always asks if the dogs can come before she just lets them romp in....its all about good manners I say Edited for spelling
  7. Hi all, My baby seems to have some water in his ear after swimming at the beach. He is shaking his head like it is really annoying him - but not constantly, just every now and again. I'm off to the vet as soon as they open tomorrow, but just wondering if there is anything I can do for him meanwhile? I have some of the epi-optic used for cleaning ears but not sure wether this will help or make it worse...Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Jodie
  8. No advice to give sorry but just found this post & wanted to send healing hugs to your girl.
  9. Hi Zacpud, Sorry to hear about Oscar - I had a Golden Retiriever with diabetes that we lost early this year at 12.5yrs . We had him on the Hills Prescription diet so can't offer any help with the fresh food ideas. As for the syringes I used to purchase Bensons online as it was much cheaper than the vet from http://vetnpetdirect.com.au/product.php?productid=16926 Good luck with your boy - as others have said it does get easier over time to give the injections, give him big cuddles from me
  10. Sorry to hear the boys aren't well...sounds like they have found something in the yard of the new house to eat maybe? Sorry not much help....
  11. I started by feeding Dugan Advance giant puppy he got sick of that after a couple months & we switched to Eukanuba. He loves it but it makes him fart constantly so now changing to Orijen.. Have ordered it a couple of days ago & can't wait to give that a go - really like the idea of grain free.
  12. I have tried lots of different treatments for Scoota and spent big $. For us I have had the most success with accupuncture and have found a wonderful vet who operates from her back yard in Shelley (the same one ArtyFarty goes to). She will not only do accupuncture on the kids but also do usual vet things for cost price, and the best part is as you leave she give you a big hug Thanks ArtyFarty & Ptolomy - she sounds great too! I've read lots of great things regarding acupuncture for spinal trauma. Can I ask what condition she treated Scoota for with acupuncture Ptolomy? Also Dugan is only 6.5 months old and full of beans - I don't quite know how he's gonna go sitting still for the treatment! - Does it take long & is there any pain associated with the procedure?
  13. Thanks Rusky & june.andovas I remember coming accross her website ages ago when I was looking for alt therapy for my old diabetic GR, unfortunately he passed away before we got to see her:( and I had lost her details.
  14. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can recommend some alternative therapists in Perth who could assist in the recovery of my boys spinal trauma? We are currently doing Hydrotherapy twice a week which is doing wonders for him - however he is still on prednisone daily and each time we try to reduce the dose he seems to have a bit of a relapse & start limping again. Back to the vets we go & up the dose again slightly for a couple of weeks then try & reduce again. He improves almost instantly when he is on the higher dose. Would really love to get him off the pred asap & thought that maybe acupuncture, bowen or even chiro might assist his recovery. Has anyone had success with alternative therapy for a similar type of injury?
