  1. I'm not sure about Boarding Kennels but we are happy with our Vet. The Parade Norwood, Veterinary Clinic 27 The Parade (Cnr Eastry St), Norwood, SA 5067 p: (08) 83635323 Norwood is not too far from Hyde Park
  2. Welcome to Adelaide!! :p We buy our fresh meat loaf from Pet's Pantry too! The pups love it! Corner Diagonal Rd and Ormonde St. Your right PH the shop does look a little dodgy but the home-made meat loaf is great :D Our dogs Aubrey and Thomas (I'm Schnauzer Boy's OH) go to Dog City Daycare once a week on Tuesday's - they love it! The staff there are fantastic and the dogs have a wonderful time. There is a viewing area where you can pop in a take a look if you want to check it out. We buy our dry food from Pet Stock on Main North Rd at Prospect - they don't sell pups or kittens. Hyde Park is a lovely area - I think you'll like it there. The DOL meets are on Main Street Glen Osmond so not far from you - it's a nice little off-lead fully fenced park.

What a terrible loss - I am so sorry Just reading Gherkin's name always put a smile on my face - it is clear she was loved by many and will not be forgotten. Big Hugs to you Dotty and your other babies
  6. Happy Birthday my gorgeous Baroness Von Munchy! You are truly one of a kind and we love you to bits!! Kel xxx
  7. I have been really impressed. Thomas and Aubrey are going at lunch-time today for a 5 hour session. There is going to be another Schnauzer there too so am excited about that. During March there is a 10% off offer. I think for residents that live in the area or people who work in the area it's 20% off in March. My two went for 5 hours last week and it cost around $30 (I got the 20% discount as I work across the road) which I thought was very good
  8. Hi fellow Adelaide DOLer's Just wanted to let you know that I have discovered a fantastic Doggie Daycare facility in Adelaide! Dogcity Daycare is located at 24 King William Street, Kent Town. I actually work in a building just down the road so have been popping across regularly for a visit just to watch the dogs playing and having fun. Aubrey and Thomas (our 2 mini schnauzer's) had their first session last Tuesday and absolutely loved it! They had a 1/2 day 5 hour session and when I picked them up after work they were both completely zonked. The staff are so friendly and of course are huge dog lovers! Aubs and Thom are booked in for another session tomorrow Here is a link to the Dogcity website if anyone wants more info http://www.dogcity.com.au/ Kel

  13. Both of my dogs adore carrots and red capsicum!
  14. Well said Poodlefan. If you want a well socialised, toilet trained dog that is obedient, and a pure joy to have around, it is up to you and your family - his life and future are in your hands. If you would like help, pm me and I will put you in touch with someone in Canberra experienced with the breed. I agree whole-heartedly with these responses. The Mini Schnauzer is an indoor dog who loves being close to the family. Please don't lock him in the outside shed. We went through toilet training with Aubrey which involved getting up every 3 hours to take her outside to the toilet and give her lots of praise and cuddles when she went. This contiued for about 3 weeks and then went down to once a night taking her out. They are very intelligent dogs and Aubrey was house-trainied within 5 - 6 weeks. As they get older they can also 'hold it' a lot longer. Our two rarely get up in the night to go to the toilet and have been known to sleep in until 10am! Please take the great advice from people on this forum - the toilet training really doesn't take that long and you will have a much happier little pup at night
  15. What a gorgeous little pup! Love her little tongue. Meg is such a cute name too. Have fun with her.
  16. He is adorable!!! Congratulations!! :nahnah: Can't wait to meet him at one of the meets - yahhh
  17. We have a session booked with Mark Singer on Saturday. Will let you know how we get on. :p
  18. What you want and what may be possible could be different. Until you get professional help I urge you keep Aubrey away from young children, in your home or elsewhere. That's for her benefit as well as the kids. That's why we are getting some professional help for her and why we asked that our friend not bring their child over to our house. The friend actually took offence to this which has been quite distressing also. If she can not be helped then yes, she may have to be segragated when kids come over - just hope it doesn't come this this.
  19. Thanks for all of the advice guys! For those that don't know I am SchnauzerBoy's OH. We are going to seek a consult with Mark Singer for Aubrey. Aubrey came to us at 13 weeks of age. She came from what we now think is a BYB. We bought Aubrey before we found DOL and were educated about BYB. We know that the owner where Aubrey was born has a least one small child an we think that she may have received some trauma of some kind there. The first day I took Aubrey out after her immunisation we encountered a small child in the park. Aubrey immediately started to bark and the child began shrieking which only made matter worse - the child's grandparent said that the child was afraid of all dogs...so this was not a good beginning. We do not crate train so locking Aubrey away in a crate when kids come to our place is not an option, plus we don't want to have to lock her away - it is her house. We want Aubrey to be able to interact in an appropriate manner with kids in our home. Hopefully Mark will be able to offer us some help and get this problem sorted out. I will let you know how we get on. Thanks again
