  1. Congrats on your Rally :) When you do decide to enter another obedience ring, try and take that fun and enjoyment to obedience. Yes it is structured but you can still have a spring in your step. I see a lot of people suddenly start moving slower and more cautiously. Have a nice quick normal pass, long slow step for slow pace and a little jog for fast. Your voice can be fun, your movement energetic and good clear hand control. I get nervious( I stopped counting the amount of times I went to the toilet at trials lol but I now go out to have fun. Make the obedience ring as exciting as the rally. you can't pat them but your body can say lets go, can you keep up. I have to say I love the rally :) It is lovely to hear someone say they walked away from the wrong type of training for their dog and understands that young dogs need time. Look forward to seeing more rally qual's
  2. Thank you so much Sheena , I did google the book but this site didn't come up. The postage from USA was the price of a second book. I have saved money and I don't have to wait 6-8 weeks for my book. Have ordered book :)
  3. I hope this is the right place to post this. Does anyone have for sale or know there I can buy "the focused puppy' book in AU.
  4. Hi RR I have Pm you about the cards in reply to the Pm you sent me :D Thank you for the PM murve, I am eager to start practicing for rally-o so any info or resources on it would be great. I am currently reading the style of rally obedience and I would like to try some of the example course.
  5. Does anyone know if the rally-o course cards in America are the same as Australia, I am wanting to get a copy of the cards for home use. I know we use less cards here but wasn't sure if the cards are the same. Cam anyone tell me where I can get them in Austraila. Really enjoyed watching the trial at St Ives last weekend.
  6. Thank you to all who answered my question, I always have my dogs harnessed or crated as 40+kg of rottie could be very dangerous in a accident. I am not sure I can secure the soft crate to the floor, so have some thinking to do before our trip. Sorry for the late responce lost my boy and was finding it hard to come on line. RIP my beautiful Zac. Only one beautiful rottie will be making the trip.
  7. Hi, We are moving to williamtown at the end of the year. I beleive all dogs need to be harnessed in the car in NSW. I have a honda CRV and my dog is in a soft crate in the back, will this meet the NSW requirements?
  8. Not sure of the nutritional value but I have been giving my dogs carrots since they were pups, great cold to chew on when teething and not as fattening as bones, didn't want an over weight puppy. Also good as a treat and keeps the weight of a working dog. My new puppy loves them too. Too true about the orange poo, can always tell whenthe have had carrots.
  9. I know it has been a while since your passing but I was not a member during this time. I shared your loss with your loved ones and I know that Precious was waiting for you at the end of the rainbow. I am sure you are hanging out together and remember all the training and fun we had together. I am so pround of your mum for being so brave at the end and being true to you by being by your side. It isn't easy and our hearts break but we know it is for you that we did it that way. You didn't need a nurse, vet or stranger by your side just your loved ones. We thank the vet for letting us do it this way and for helping you to find peace by going to sleep. We think of you often and remember all the good times we had. I send my love to the Rainbow Bridge and hope it finds you. Precious Mum
