  1. Morning All, No first night horrors. Took him for his first walk yesterday and because of his show training, he doesn't understand a relaxing, sniff and look walk, I don't think. He is very good at looking pretty. He has rather interesting fear of the plasma tv ( it is 52 inch,) and loves mirrors....hehe..other then that everything is going fine... Debbie
  2. And how freaky is this I just putting his paper away....his mother name was Bindii.....my old dog name....who had to be pts.....Bindii......
  3. Do I need a drum roll... Bichon Frise Home, well and the poodle is getting to know him....already been to see my mum's poodle as well.... Currently doing laps around the house..... Pics when I can.....
  4. 1 We did not buy him on whim. We have been researching for a while, we knew our old dog was sick. We have been researching breeds for months now. We have NOT replaced our old dog, and purposely STAYED away from her X breed. She was a one in million dog and can never be replaced. 2. When we arrived at the show, we were asked by a lady on the gate, what breeds were interested, we explained where we live, SHE ruled out hounds and gun dogs, it was her group of dogs. Because of our fences, whilst secure, we have farm fencing, so it also ruled out working breeds and because of the snakes ( tigers mainly) this also ruled out terriers. Until we are suburbanized, we can't re-fence, this will happen in the next few years. I did not want big dog. In this street alone, our neighbours have staffy, a siberan husky, a maltese, a poodle, a cav, boarder collie and red cattle dog. We have poodle. The dog is from a REG breeder, the dog is REG. But you are all still not happy? And you wonder why people go to pet shops. 3 We have been happily married for the 17 years, we own our own house, we have only ever owned two pets, the old dog, who was PTS at 16 and half, on 22/08/08, and our old horse, who was a meat work rescue, who was also PTS at the ripe old of 28, 20 years AFTER falling of the back of the meat truck into our float. My tax file number is........ 4. We never buy anything on whim, not the least bit interested in showing or breeding. I cook my dog's dinner, she is walked EVERY day. I am stay at home mum and don't work, I don't need to work my hubby works FIFO. My dog sleeps inside. And our circumstances won't be changing in the future. My hubby made his mind to buy another dog, no pressure from me, yes I wanted another dog, but until he came around to my way I thinking, that was all it was ' a want'. It took him close to 12 months to research a car we brought and two years for a caravan. Five years to design a house. He does not buy on a whim, no matter what I do to I try and turn him....he just get more stubborn, his Italian, you see. Deb
  5. Morning Everyone, We went to a pet show on Sunday, we had all the kids. Hubby had his mind set on one breed. Then we stumbled upon my son's girlfriends Aunt, who showed us her breed ( amstaff), while they were really nice dogs....I have to walk, look after it and having a small pony wondering around the house....well yes they are really nice looking dogs, but not for us. And we take our dogs caravaning...the amstaff would take up the whole damn caravan. We were given some ideas, like don't have hounds ( we live in a rural area), one sniff, and they are off, don't have gun dogs, we live opp a pond with lots of ducks and a river. It would spend more time in the river and the pond then inside. Besides I like have the ducks visiting morning and night. Hubby like the bulldogs, but they snore louder then he does...so being that he wanted to be top dog so to speak...really nice dogs...but not for us. Anyway cut a long story short we went with a toy breed, much to hubby ( joking) disgust, hubby has colour, fluff and height issues, he went there not wanting white, fluffy or small hehe....I think it really funny, at least he got half of his way it has not got oodle in it's name. And before anyone starts, I had no idea until yesterday that hubby had been in contact with the breeder ( she reg) ALL day. So now I have to get ready to bring him home. Being that I have 3 and 1/2 year old female, this other is 4 and 1/2 month old male Should I buy him some toys? Do I leave the toys, new bed and stuff around for the older dog to get used to, or wait till we bring the puppy home? I am going to go to Better Pets today to have look, buy him a lead. By some wool for mum to crochet his blanket ( mum does this for all the new dogs in the extended family) The older dog lost her mate a three weeks ago, her mate was 16 years old female He is being desexed, clipped and chipped on Wednesday.
