  1. Ours both sleep on the dog bed, they have one each but usually curl up together on the bigger bed. If the OH is away, then I let them both sleep on the bed with me, and they are allowed up for cuddles if invited. I quite like having them sleep on the bed with me, but a queensize bed doesn't comfortably fit 2 adults, a Husky, and a Great Dane (Especially since I'm already a bed hog)!

  2. Very timely topic. I have been way too accommodating of accepting other poorly behaved dogs, who insist on lunging, barking & staring down my dog. It is getting beyond ridiculous & today & rang the council to complain.

I asked one lady politely, if she could please keep her dog on a short lead whilst we passed, only to be told “there’s nothing I can do” – delivered with a filthy glare! She has no problem (thinks its cute & funny I’m sure) with her small breed rushing at me & my dog aggressively, as she lets the lead extend fully. I am on a bicycle with my male rottie jogging beside me.

This has been every day for past 2 weeks & my dog is also starting to lose patience. I think I need to deal with the dog before he does.

Can anyone suggest appropriate action for me? I am a dog lover & do not want to cause the dog any harm & realise it is not the dogs fault. I am also pretty easy going, but it is getting too much.

Can you 'accidentally' run over the dogs paw or tail with the bike?

  3. I've never owned a beagle, but I've heard about their penchant to eat anything. Would it help to deter him if you sprayed the poo with something foul tasting, such as woundgard, so he learns it tastes bad? (Although I would have already thought it would taste bad)

  4. Like everyone else said, eyes aren't something to mess around with. Good to hear you got them checked, and it's good that it wasn't anything serious.

If the staining remains, I know there are products available to healp clean it up (Such as pretty eyes), but I believe they're designed for SWF so I'm not sure if they'd work on other dogs?

  5. My Dane started pulling washin off the line while I was at work, because it looked interesting flapping in the breeze >.<

I now hang my washing on clothes horses inside, and both dogs leave it alone. One will occasionally pick up a sock and walk around with it but then they get bored with it and spit it out.

  6. We have 2 dogs, an 11 month old Great Dane and a 7 month old Husky. They both come in after work (Anywhere between 4-6) and snooze most of the afternoon and evening (With a few bouts of playing, followed by more sleeping). They then go to bed at the same time as us, and Elektra, the Husky, wants out at around 8ish and Keeley, the Dane, wants out around 9:30am

  7. Both our dogs are fed on the RC food, the husky is on Medium Junior and the Dane is on Giant Junior. I've found that Keeley (The dane) has done best on the RC, although she has been on both Euk and Advance as well at different stages. Our dogs are fed mostly kibble only with an occasional treat of some meat or canned food to make things interesting

Also Mudget, not sure if it has done so in Victoria as well but over here in SA the Advance frequent buyers has been increased to 10 bags before the free one as well

  8. I have an 8 1/2 month old great dane pup, who loves to chew on toys. I just need to know how to stop her munching away at them, as she lays down with one and chews away until it's destroyed, then moves on to the next one.

Any ideas how to stop her?
