3 red girls and 2 red boys for us born 20th April
-
good luck to you to murmarstaffs :)
She's in early labour now .... So only a little early
-
I was sticking with my gut instinct that the calcium before hand was a big no no, but when they are being advised from their vet what can you do
-
Thank you for that information and I will look up the whelping pause
-
Hi everyone, it's been a while since we've been on.
In discussion with a fellow breeder about bitches stopping contracting during labour, resulting in cesarean for the bitch. They have been advised by their vet to supplement calcium at least 2 weeks before whelping to help with the contracting.
Now everything I've looked up has said the opposite and saying it will increase the risk of eclampsia except for a greyhound forum that is for it but the post was 5 years ago.
Any advice would be appreciated so I can pass it on.

We are expecting on the 23rd. It's been almost 3 years

all gaining weight.... too cute
-
my bella cycles every 5 months sometimes even 4. But she ovulates early too which makes it difficult with breeding her too. I would highly suggest skipping this season and get her prog tested and then her next heat try to mate her

Murmarstaffs Bella whelped 2 Blk Brindle Boys & 4 Blk Brindle girls yesterday.
Saldly one of the girls was stillborn and has gone to rainbow bridge.
Mum and remaining 5 pups are doing great
-
excuse my ignorance but i'm intrigued, can you explain the dual-sired litter and how that works?
2 sires (fresh) and all pups have to be dna tested.
This is bellas last litter and I would love something from each to follow on with.
Its not 100% that i will get something from both
-
We can be added... Due about 19th Oct.
It is also a dual sired litter so we are all a bit excited :)
-

Crystal had her puppy today at 4:30pm. Breach delivery, one bitch, weighs 206g. All good so far... still busy. :D
Also, prog test was 2.
"Not today" - famous last words indeed.
(Reweighed, not on carpet, at 206g)
woooohoooooo gratz on your little gem
-
gratz weiz, they are just beautiful
-
how cute are the paws
-
Hes the 4th pup born and the biggest of them all, lil porka
Out of curiosity how much did each of yours weigh?
I have started bottle feeding one of the boys he dropped of weight big time and got dehydrated, so doing what I can!
my smallest boy was 260g (we nearly lost him over night, hes on nutrigel and 30min feeds on bella) and my big fatty boy was 345.
This litter is smaller than my 4 boys as they were all just under 400gms

Woohoo they finally arrived
Congratulations Murmarstaffs - all looking very healthy
Thank - you they are doing well
-
Awwww...puppies!
Bet Bella is greatly relieved now....looks like she's got plenty in the "Milk Bar" too!
Are they milk drips I see on the light coloured bub?
Her boobs have been that size since a week ago, the drips are water slobbers from bella having a drink (hand fed mind you lol)
