Doing things to our house, hanging out with friends, and sending time with my beautiful pooch Miss Lizzy
  1. Wish i did live in Victoria so i could take her to him. We live in Newcastle 2 hours south of Sydney!
  2. I have taken her to them numerous times and for 2nd opinions and they say they want to perform exploratory surgery on her. I'm scared to death of this and i do not want to put her through that! She is only a small thing and it is major major surgery!! I just thought perhaps someone has experienced similar things
  3. Anyone out there experienced a simialr thing? or have any ideas. My girls health has been on going for a couple of years now and i really need some answers or advice?
  4. My dog has pancreatitias. But i have been noticing lately she sighs and grunts and moves around uncomfortable in the belly sometimes. I really do not think it is her pancreatitias as her symptons for that used to be not wanting to eat and sometimes vomiting. She still want's to eat, her food. She has a great appetite which she never used to have when her pancreas was flaring. The only other things i notice are that she eats grass a fair bit and her eyes look glassy. I thought perhaps it is Colic or IBD or something. Does anyone elses dog have similar sypmtons or can advise me what it may be? Cheers Kris & Lizzy
  5. Kelly that is EXCELLENT WONDERFUL news. Yay for Chloe and you!!! We never give up on our girls and i think it is our constant love and support that makes them pull through their illnesses. Wow i'm genuinely so happy for you!! that has put a smile on my face. Yes she is such a dear beautiful looking girl. Shes doen't even look all that old to me. She looks very healthy! So what happens now once you up the medication. When do you take her back for checkups? Ha ha my vets know me too. I'm actually taking a drive down to Syndey tomorrow with Lizzy to see Barbara from all natural vet care in russel lea. I've had a few phone consults with her but we both agreed it would probably be beneficial for her to actually see and examine her. Hopefully she can pick something else up by going over her as she still has her bad days! My poor babe it is so cruel. She always tries to act so happy and masked that she is not 100% Like you i love her sooooooooooooooo very much and will do anything for her. I cannot imagine the day she is not with me! But back onto a better note. to chloe and give her lots of pooch smoochies and cuddles from Miss Lizzy and her mumma x x x
  6. Sending well wishes to Chloe and you!!!! Let us know the results. I'm happy she handled the vet stay alot better this time.
  7. i too have a poo eater. When she was a puppy she used to eat her own. The sicko! But now she eats our neighbours cats poo. We had alot of dirt areas and the cats would always poo in it. But now we have layed rock over the dirt ares and it has stopped them from poopong in our yard!!!! thankgod!
  8. How is your puppy today? Did you work out what it was?
  9. Yes i thought that but i have her on enzyplex enzymes that she has been on for a year now. So that would stop that from happening i would think? The thing is i had her on Royal Canin low fat digestive food. When she showed she was in pain i decided to change her diet as i felt that the food just was not working for her so she is only on fish and sweet potato at the moment. The abnormal poop started after being on the new diet. I think besides the poop having the slime on it every now and again she appears to be ok. (her natural vet Barbara from all antural vet care recommended trying her on fish and potato, i have phone consulations with her.)
  10. Just took a sample to the vet. It is being sent to the lab.... going to cost me $245. I hope i get some kind of answer. I have spent thousands and thousands on this dog! think they only check for parasites and bacteria so i still might not get an answer of what the muccous stuff is!
  11. I just wanted to say that your pooches are adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry i have nothing useful to say besides that!
  12. Sorry to chat about a yucky topic but my girl has pancreatitas. I have recently changed her diet to fish and sweet potato to see if it stops her flare ups. But lately i have noticed a yellow sludge possibly thick mucous stuff on and sometimes in her poop. What would it be? I'm thinking about taking a sample to the vet as i have noticed it on and off for 1 week now. So i was wondering what do they check for? what tests do the run on it? Also does anyone know a rough price? I've spent thousands on her so i'm hoping it is not very expensive.
  13. Iam in tears and balling. Iam so very very very sorry. This is not fair!!!! RIP peace Fraser. I'm sure he is looking down on you guys!!!!!!
  14. Oh iam terribly sorry to hear this news. I hope he picks up very very soon and you get him under control!. My baby Lizzy suffers from pancreatitas. She has had multiple multiple attacks and she is only 3. First started for her at around 1.5 years. (after being fed a treat from china) Poor baby. I understand you not wanting to say goodbye to him. I'm the same with my girl i always thought i would have her for 17 years now the future is so uncertain. I just hope you have so much more luck with controlling and keeping him controlled than the luck i have. I love my girl more than anything. I cry myself to sleep most nights worried about her. I'm in the middle of debating whether to put her in for invasive surgery for biopsies to see if we can find something else causing her attacks. You are lucky you have insurance. I do not and have already spent many thousands. If i put her in for the surgery it will cost another $1500.00. But i will do anything to try and help her. I'm just worried that something may go wrong. She had an attack a couple of days ago and she is so not well at the moment. I have started her on a new diet to see if that helps but she is not picking up as yet unfortunately. Again i'm so so so sorry. This is something i would not wish on my worst enemies dog it is a cruel and pathetic disease. I hope you he picks up very soon and you never have to go through it ever again. Kris and the gorgeous miss Lizzy.
