  1. Has she seen a dermatologist? My girl had a bad ear infection and it was cleared up by the dermatologist.
  2. My girl had her spleen removed. At the time they thought it was cancer but when it was removed and tested it need up being an overwhelming Bacterial infection. She was fine and lived to be 13 a great age for a GSD.
  3. My boy loves the vets. He thinks every time he goes there it's for sex! He has had his sperm frozen a couple of times and also done a couple of AI's so he is very eager to go to the vets.
  4. I have pugs and a GSD. My Buffy has grown up with the Pugs and is now 14. I had her mother and Grandmother. All had beautiful temperaments. All were completely trustworthy around the pugs. However I was always mindful of giving the big dogs some breathing room. My Buffy has a special love of puppies. She always knows when there are pups in the house and will sit outside the window of the room they are in "guarding" them. When they are old enough they are allowed to play with her and never once did she display any signs of aggression. She would reprimand them if they got too rough . I have two 12 week old girls here. They babies love to follow her and grab her tail and be general little pills but given her age I limit the time they spend with her. I always supervise and when she's had enough then they are separated.
  5. Try Robert McDowell's Herbal Medications as a way of supplementing. You can call them and they will advise you. I am using Mast Cell Remedy and Maratime Bark for my boy who had a low end Grade 2 MCT Tumour removed last November. Clear Margins
  6. My boy had a MCT removed from his font leg in Now last year. They literally cut the tumour out with clean margins. Being the front leg there was no skin ect to use for stitching up the wound so it was left to heal on its own by secondary intention. No chemo or radiation was needed. All healed completely by 6 weeks post op. I have him on Robert McDowell Mast cell tumour remedy and Maratime Pine. He is bursting out of his skin.
  7. Contact me at [email protected] and I'll send you a breeders list.
  8. Love her to bits and keep doing what you're doing. Any doubts take her to the vet straight away. And love her even more.
  9. PMMe Van I should be able to tell you if this person is legit.
  10. Or you cam PM or contact me at [email protected] I am the secretary of the Pug Club of Victoria and would be very interested to find out if it is one of our members doing the wrong thing.
  11. My boy had a bad sample that the vet said was due to an enlarged prostate. Put him on antibiotics. Prostate went down. Then he had mast cell tumour removed from his leg Had a sperm sample take a few months later and all was good. My girls are back in season so will try to freeze again now. Fingers crossed.
  12. Just to clarify, so people don't go racing out pouring bleach over their dogs. The beach bath/ rise was 1 part in 20/21 so I used 500mls bleach to 10/11 litres of water. Not on her head though. It stayed on for 2-3 minutes and was thoroughly rinsed off.
  13. I havae a girl who ha a very bad skin problem on her back legs. She had big hairless patches that looked like mange. Nothing on repeated skin scrapings. Treated with Advocate just in case. No improvement. Treated with AB's some improvement but reoccurred. Legs devoid of hair and resembling elephant skin. Dermatologist appointment. Very bad ear infections despite no symptoms. Bacterial and fungal infections on legs. Treated with medicated shampoo, ant Biotics and ant fungal. Reoccurrence. Treated again, partially cleared up. Suspected multi drug resistant bacterial infection. More test, and cultures of the bacteria to find out what it was resistant to. Specific anti Biotics prescribed, twice weekly baths in Phyohex and bleach rinses for a month for her and another elderly dog. And weekly bleach baths for the other dogs. Problem fixed. She went 5 months and has just had another minor reoccurrence which we treated again as above. Stopped in tracks. We suspect that when she walks in wet grass and then sits on her legs it creates an environment that encourages bacterial growth. Although the dermatologist visits were expensive we probably would not have gotten to where we are now.
  14. I am really sorry to hear this. Pugs are so special. They truly become your life. I know the pain you are feeling so well. God Speed Little Man Sweet Dreams
