  1. I will only use it when we go out. He doesn't do his business when he is inside the house.
  2. I'll try it and see how it goes. Thank you for your advice.
  3. My problem is his hair is long enough to get wet but not long enough to be plaited.
  4. I have a 16 months old full male Affie and he is my first male dog (I didn't think about this problem). His hair around the skirt is growing longer and longer. Can someone please tell me where I can buy a "trousers" for him so his skirt hair won't get wet and matted? Or is there any other way I can achieve the same result? Thank you in advance.
  5. Thank you for everyone's advice . I think I'll give it a go
  6. I have been biking with my 2 Affies almost everyday. Biking outdoor always have different kind of limitation - weather, time of the day (I can only do it at night during hot summer time - I live in Beijing) and my own schedule (social and work). I think I can keep up a very consistent schedule if I use a treamill on them and I will still do some short ride with them for fun (for me and the dogs). Besdies, I think treadmill will stress their joints less than running on the road, though most of our usual route are on grass. Any thoughts? Any advice are welcome.
  7. just a reminder, 1) Touch the ground to feel the temperature to see if it is too hot 2) Check their pads wear regularly and give them time to grow between runs if you observe excessive wear
  8. Got it, pen has been increased to 1Mx3M and I have set up a toilet area for 1mx1m for him. The plan is to take him out every 1.5 hr and let's see waht happen next. Thank you everyone for your advice.
  9. I am sorry that I think confused you guys. He had been staying in a 1mX2m pen but he sometime wees inside the pen in the non-bedding area. I am thinking he is now 6 months and should be able to hold so that I recently reduced the pen to 1mx1m so that he can learn not to wee in his own pen. We take him out every 2 hours during the day time for walks and he has learned to do his business outside with a cue "pot". He also socializes with other people and dogs in the dog park within our complex. From after dinner to bed time, he and my other 2 dogs (another 2 years old Affie and 3 years old Yorkshire Terrier) can play and roam in the back yard. I will also do a late night walk for all 3 of them at about 22:30. This is pretty much his routine.
  10. I have a 6 months old Affie that I got him when he was 15 weeks. I keep him in a 1mx2m pen with a bed about 1mx1m. Although we take him out every 2 hours he from time to time will wee in the pen but not his bed. Since he is 6 months old now and I think I can be more stringent on him so I reduce the pen area to 1Mx1M, it means the bed occupies the whole pen. He ends up wetting his bed and firstly I thought he could not hold it but today he wees right in front of me on his bed when he entered to the pen from a walk!!!! What should I do? Any advice are welcome.
  11. Sometime I am confused with the pack order with such an interesting combination, sex, age and sizes. I am wondering how this will evolve when Amani is grown, he is very dominating.
  12. I have 3 dogs - Momo a 3 yrs old Yorkshire Terrier dog neutered, Sandy a 19mths old Affie bitch spayed and Amani a 5mths old Affie puppy dog full. Amani was crated when this incidence happened. A friend of mine visited our house for the first time and as usual Momo is very firendly towards anyone and Sandy is always nervous in the beginning but usually is ok after a while. I was sitting next to my friend and Sandy was relaxing and lying on the floor about 5m away from us. Momo picked up a ball to me and invited me to play retrieve (Momo loves it). After several round of fetch, my friend got interested and he threw the ball then Sandy barked at him from afar (5m) then when my friend was trying to throw again, Sandy jumped up growled and charged to my friend and ready to bite, it was very close but I managed to call her off. We stopped the game and Sandy was relaxed again. Sandy always ignores the ball and I've given up training her for that for a long time so I can rule out resources guarding. Does anyone has the similar experience or be able to explain what happened? I am opened to any opinion that may help and I just want to make sure it won't happen again as it was quite scary. It is the first time I saw Sandy showing aggressiveness.
  13. my worry is dragging her for 5-6 feet may hurt her paws. I will try MonElite's advice to give her a toilet break every 15 minutes and see how she goes. Thank you for your advice (including ME's of course:)).
