  1. We went to a dermatologist in Sydney so I cant help with Brisbane names but the cost was $300 this included multiple skin scapes and a long consult (an hour plus). It was definately worth it as it resolved our problem(we had been to 2 vets and the second one suggested the specialist)It was probably cheaper than having multiple local vet visits.Good luck.
  2. Sounds like you have done the best for her.Seems a long time since original mange episode for it to reoccur.Allergies seem particularly bad this year maybe its the humidity.I hope all Ruby's problems are soon under control and wish you all the best.
  3. Sorry to hear your dog is unwell .We have had some experience with mange and it can be very hard to eliminate. How long since she had it last?Is it possible it was never completey gone and the mites have increased again to a level that you have noticed the baldness? We ended up seeing a specialist who said it can need intense treatment over a long time to get on top of it.Was she retested at the end of her treatment to ensure they were all gone?and this can also be repeated again a few weeks later just to make sure.I hope things get better for you soon.
  4. Hope she is feeling better, haven't got any advise but lots of hugs and you know she will recover quickly and all will be forgotten.
  5. I too just saw this thread and felt sick at the thought (we lost a wei to this) Sounds like you were very lucky your mum was savvy.Sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  6. I have recently changed to raw diet, one of my dogs looks really well on it ,shiny coat neat waist but it has not cured him of allergy issues (which are seasonal and seem bad this year) the other dog is also looking well .I agree it can be a lot of work and time consuming getting a variety of meats, veges etc.and the quantities seem huge as I buy in bulk. Both are large dogs. One funny thing we had happen is although we thought they would eat ANYTHING this does't include ox kidney or tripe.
  7. After going down this path for the past 3 months the best advise i could give if the vet is stumped is get a referal to a dermatologist. These people deal with allergies all the time and even though expensive can save you money in the long run
