  1. Sam&Saki - Yeah love him too much lol. He's like a son to me. persephone - Yep sure, I'll try to get photos before he charges at the camera lol
  2. Yeah that's what I meant, with a bit of cold wind. Sorry. 28 degrees tommorrow! I guess he'll be alright. Thanks guys
  3. Hey guys, My lab loves the rain, he just bolts around the yard jumping around and all that lol, sometimes he would even just sit out in the rain with a big silly grin on his face. When I see him out in the rain, I always get him back inside so that he doesn't get too wet and get sick. The problem is, there's no one home during the day to take him inside since my dad went overseas for a bit and I'm just worried since it's going to be raining for the next few days, he'll be out in the rain all day and possibly get sick? I read that labs have a waterproof coat but I don't think that's good enough to prevent him from getting sick due to being soaked. He has access to sheltered areas but we can't keep him inside alone. Does anyone have a solution? Cheers!
  4. Ye I noticed he only goes for the un-fenced off plants. Maybe I should tell dad to fence off the ones he cares about. He's an 8 month old labrador by the way, hard to stop once he gets ahold of something lol. And yeh I have a Kong for him to play with. After it's empty he's not interested anymore haha.
  5. I have the same problem, except he eats dad's plants and as you would expect, dad's not quite pleased with that. When ever I try to stop him, he runs off with the plants and bolts around the yard like a nutjob lol. When I yell at him (louder than normal) he drops the plant and gets all sad. He knows it's wrong but he keeps doing it! How do I stop him from doing it?
  6. thanks for the replies guys, there's only tiny bits of blood, sand grain sized specks, minimal amount. We've got chicken breast and chicken carcus but the chicken carcus is frozen right now, shall I take it out and let it thaw out and feed him later than usual? And the wood is from an old cricket stump, I didn't think he'd chew threw it but damn, never underestimate a pup aye? EDIT: Yep he's wormed regularly, ordered Sentinel Spectrum last week, hopefully it'll arrive by the coming Wednesday.
  7. Chicken, rice and supercoat. I just found woodshards and specks of blood in his poo, maybe it punctured his intestines??!!
  8. Hey guys and girls, My 9.5 week old Labrador pup is doing mucousy poops, it's solid with a coating of mucous. He's still very active, no loss of appetite, no vomiting, no diarrhoea. He seems very normal and healthy. He's wormed and vaccinated as well. Anyone know what could be causing it?
  9. Thanks guys! I wasn't sure because some doggy products list the weight range as the adult weight even if you're using it on a puppy of the same breed. Can I buy the 10-25kg range and only use half a tablet?
  10. Hey guys, are the weight ranges for the grown dog or current weight of the dog/puppy. I've got a labrador pup and he's around 5kgs, do I buy the small dog version or the large dog version? Cheers
  11. Hey guys, I just used snail bait a few days ago and it's all in the garden, I'm getting a lab pup tomorrow and I'm scared he might eat the snail bait. Should I clean it all up(including the dead snails)? Also, we've got alot of ants in the backyard and we plan on using some type of ant bait, is there a dog safe ant killer?
  12. Is it ok to feed a puppy Great Barko or Uncle Albers?
  13. Hmmm, I might just get the metal crate. Zebette, what size crate did you get when he was a pup? Kelpie_pup, If I do get him a soft bed later on, I will probably keep it in the laundry or queensland room so that he doesn't mess up the house at night.
  14. Thanks for the replies guys! I was thinking maybe getting the small one for toilet training and after he's toilet trained and has grown too big for it, I can sell it. How long does it usually take to toilet train the dog? I could just buy a normal soft bed for him after he's toilet trained right?
  15. Hey guys and gals, I'm planning to get a Labrador pup soon and I need some advice on the type and size of crate that should be used to crate train him. I found two types of crates on ebay, one is a metal cage (collapsible) and the other is a soft travel kennel. - metal cage - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SMALL-24-Collapsibl...%3A1|240%3A1318 - soft one - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Portable-pet-dog-ca...1742.m153.l1262 Which one is better for crate training and is the small size good enough? I heard that you shouldn't give it too much room because it might decide to sleep on one half of the crate and wee on the other? I'm leaning more towards the soft crate because I could use it to take the pup to vet and parks while it's still small. Thanks in advance Macca
