  1. 2 year old high energy Collie with EPI she is on Grain free Pure Elements (not the fishy one) been on it for about a month now and is starting to regain weight slowly. Grain free dry foods are hard to find. She cleans her bowl and no problem at the other end (touch wood) shine back on her coat and a twinkle in her eye.

  3. Does anyone have any info or feedback on the petsafe outdoor bark control? (looks like a bird feeder). we have just moved into a nice "quiet" area & my 2 dogs are barking at anything and everything that goes past! havent had any complaints yet but want to solve problem before i do. There are also little dogs across the road that bark which starts my 2 off. unfortunately my dogs are louder! any feedback would be great thanks

We have one, works well for some of our dogs, but I have one girl who stands and barks at it when it is turned on LOL

  4. Rosettes are our favourites especially when they are donated and come from O/S :>))

Comets look nice and could be a change for a speciality show for placings or cc's

Sashes are good too so long as they don't fall apart as you walk out of the ring LOL

Our sashes are hung over a display cabinet door for the current year then unfortunately at the moment under the spare bed! Rosettes are pinned onto to wall hangings.

I have both gold medals and Black and Gold Handler Rosettes :>))

Agree about the trophies and increase the value of the sashes or go totally to cash - but thats another topic

  5. Wash your mouth out !!

Love the "cat" I look at other breeds, pedigree names, learn about what breeds are in other groups, look to see if dogs I like are entered, see who is breeding what.

I buy one every show and all the tightarses come to view it, Shits me when they walk off with it. Or worse when you come back to your crate and you find someone you don't know looking at your catalogue, they then walk off without saying thank you.

Ditto all Sway said. Love the 'Cat'

  6. I think you should test for EPI, please have a look at this site for more information- www.epi4dogs.com

Your dogs symptoms sound very familar to EPI and not all dogs with EPI have dramatic weight loss, you dog might have more of an SIBO problem and mild EPI but it needs to diagnosed first- TLI test as well as for Folate and Cobalamin which can indicate SIBO.

Hope your GSD gets better soon.

Hi, will note on the SIBO issue as well. If it doesn't resolve we will test for EPI. It's just so expensive the test so we are trying to see if it's food intolerance first, if we can't narrow it down we will head off for the test. We usually would just go ahead with a test as we care for our pets greatly and expense isn't a prob but unfortunately we have hit a very bad patch of bills.

Also spoke to breeder and they haven't had an EPI dog that they are aware of so far....but in saying that this girl's father is a recent german import.

If it is a mild EPI case what is the usual procedure to control, diet only, or supplements/meds. I do know from vet the meds are limited at the moment and quite efty in price. Have also taken a look at www.epidogs.com

Lots of trying this n that will also proof expensive! We had never had EPI till the first one either! EPI is ongoing treatment is a mixture of enzyme replacement and low fat foods. Our case proved a non responsive to all treatments and we lost him 6 months after diagnosis.

Shock tactics YES test the dog.

  7. trailer cam, so I can see what the beasties are up to :)

Umbrella holders near the birth doors so Umbrellas can be put up to shade said beasties. Or a roll out awning on each side and economically priced as well!

    Internal drainage holes for hygenie

    PS Good Luck

  8. Just looking for some thoughts really.

We are looking at replacing our dog trailer towards the end of the year and I am really just thinking aloud. What are peoples thoughts for a six berth with wardrobe - would you go for tandem or single wheels ? pro's and con's please.

    Cheers Kate

  9. Thanks everyone for your help. Very interested in anything that will deal with the grass as it is too large an area to dig out

I would try the Lime option too, not garden lime though, it needs to be builders lime, the ground well watered both before and after. The dogs will need to be kept off it as well as the lime will burn there feet.

    Cheers Kate
