The costs of running a clinic are huge. If we did not have medicare and the PBS in Australia maybe more people would understand that diagnostic tests, surgery, medicines, lab work are hugely expensive in the human or animal field The goverment and private insurance pays for a large part of the human services. We dont have medicare for animals so what are vets to do run at a loss?
