  1. I would be getting a second opinion before having TPO surgery, it is not something I would be putting a dog of mine through without having a second or even third opinion. Your dog is 7 months old, TPO is done on a dog under 12 months, you have 2 - 3 months up your sleeve, go to another vet. Monash I can recommend Dr Bob Cavey, he is very good with Frenchies, as for a specialist, I have seen Wing Tip Wong in the past but that was years ago with a Bullmastiff for a second opinion and he was very good, there may be somebody more up with the play now though. A VIC Bulldog person may be able to recommend a good Bulldog vet.
  2. Clean the areas daily with Kojo Eye Conditioner.
  3. :D What a find, finally you can have pups, they were made to go together. Nice bone and lovely colours. Good open nares and check out the nose roll :p One looks quite undershot, but thankfully doesn't show teeth. 2 fine examples of the breed. Want a breeding partner? I reckon you could get $4000 a pup easy, and if they run around the yard all day they wont need any further health testing.
  4. I dont like wooden or plastic dog sheds/kennels. The best kennels I have found are the K-9 Homes ones. Fully insulated for Winter/Summer and easy to keep clean. K 9 Homes 119 McEwan Rd, Heidelberg Heights. PH: (03) 94552277
  5. Beautiful, I love liver Pointers. Great name as well.
  6. Oh I would have put that pied baby in my bag. Beautiful photos.
  7. I either pop the tablet down the throat or smear it with Nutrigel, never had a dog not take a tablet out of my hand if it is covered in Nutrigel
  8. So the reason for glueing the ears.......... If they are not button then why glue? Is it like how the Bullmastiff ears can go off as pups and are taped?
  9. Good article. Is there a breed score for hips at all? What is the ratio in an average litter for button/rose ears?
  10. A good vet will never do a palate just in case and the vets I have discussed this with prefer not to do them under 12 months of age unless they are severe. Has the vet picked up problems to mention doing your pups? Have you noticed any problems?
  11. I have a few questions: Ears, is it common practice to glue pups ears if they are not rose or do breeders only keep pups with the correct rose ear? My guess is it would be best to grow them slow, so is it best to keep puppies on the leaner side while they are growing? From what I have seen there appear to be 2 different types of nose roll, one that is broken and the other that goes over the nose, is one more correct than the other or is it personal preference?
  12. Another one who uses Joint Guard, had better results with it than Sasha's Blend. Also Cartrophen injections if need be and you can go monthly if you have to, depending on the problem.
  13. I have used Bundoora Veterinary Clinic and Hopsital ( 17 - 19 Plenty Rd, Bundoora ), but at the moment I can't think of the vets name but I found him very good. My vet also referred me to them as an after hours emergency vet a couple of times when I lived up North. The after hours staff were fantastic. Edit for spelling...
  14. I can't stand Bonnie or Supercoat. If they were mine I would be switching them over to RC Adult. I only feed puppy food up until around 8 - 12 weeks of age anyway, that's with both Bullmastiff pups and Frenchies.
  15. Thanks, will pass it on, would prefer a vet that did most things on site and one that doesn't have a constant stream of locums like the one they already use. Doesn't have to be in Coburg, can be the suburbs around. Sorry I don't like Lort Smith.
  16. Can anyone recommend a good vet in/around/near Coburg area that I can pass on please.
  17. As Puggy said, no jumping, remove excess weight. Massage/accupuncture can help. I prefer Joint Guard to Sashas Blend after trying both, but each dog is diffferent. Also Cartrophen injections, you can do these monthly if the dog is very bad. I found Previcox wonderful on one Bullie but didn't do much on another, again each dog is different. The side effects of Previcox are not as bad as with the Metacam/Rimadyl etc...
  18. And another here I would be going to him for a second opinion before anything else was done.
