Pet Cafe sell Vet's All Natural mixed with roo meat and call it "Meal for Pets". They sell a 1kg pack for just over $6 - I buy bulk and pay around $62 for 11 packs. I feed 3 cavaliers on one packet and have also fed BARF patties and calculated that it costs the same amount of money each day to feed the 3 dogs. I don't have any opinion on whether VAN is better than BARF, but my brother spent many hours researching dog food and concluded that VAN is an excellent product (not sure if he compared it to BARF though).

My dogs do brilliantly on it and I've been feeding it to them for many years now. I credit the food with a lot of good things, regarding health issues, that have happened with the dogs. I won't outline them here because I know someone will come on and say it's not the food and just good luck or something.

Benny, the 13 year old (who looks and acts like a 5 year old I was told the other day by a fellow Cavvy owner) absolutely thrives on the food, he's so full of beans.

I think you should give it a try, I really do swear by the stuff :-)

I have another question seeing you were so helpful with the other one, how long does it take for the blade to get too hot to use on the dog? I used them on the weekend and they seemed to heat up really quickly and I seemed to be all the time stopping and having to rest them. Now I can change blades I can use the second one I have, but I still think they are heating up too quickly.....

The blades need to be kept well lubricated, so a drop of clipper oil on the running track doovie of the blades every 20 minutes or so whilst clipping, or you can use products like Cool Lube spray.

Only clip clean coats, dirty hair will blunt your blades fast, dull blades heat up.

The blades are brand new and they heat up within 5-10 mins. I was oiling them regularly too :-( I didn't think it seemed right because I thought how do professional clippers get on if the blades can only be used for 10 minute stints.

Hi everyone

I can't for the life of me get the blade off my new Wahl KM2 clippers. I read the instructions and it basically says to push the grey buttony thing forwards and then take the blade off. I even looked on the internet for more detailed instructions and I tried doing what they said and it still didn't work. Do you think it's possibly stuck? Or are they difficult to get off for the first time? I don't think it should be this hard :-(

My dog, who's 13 this year has had two bouts of geriatric vestibular disease. Both times he has recovered back to normal within only a few hours, no ill effects whatsoever. I understand that this is not always the case and the affected dog will have some lasting reminder of the disease or a recovery period, as others have pointed out.

It's a massive scare though when it happens!! I had never heard of it before and I actually thought he was dying the first time it happened because his eyes were rolling back in his head and he couldn't stand up. He hasn't had it happen to him for quite a while now, so hopefully he won't get it anymore.... the bouts were 6-12 months apart.
