  1. For anyone on DOL that had wanted to meet the breed face to face here is your chance....

    Sunday 10th July 2011 - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Location is - The Dandenong Police Paddocks Reserve, Brady Road Endeavour Hills.

    See below for more details.

    Ash...

Boerboel Australia will be holding a meet the breed Day. Come along a meet a Boerboel (Sth African Mastiff).

If you know of anyone that is interested in the Breed and live in Victoria please let them know of this event.

We have organised a select group of dogs to be on display for the day. This day is purely for the public to come along and meet the breed. We wish to keep the dog numbers small so we ask if you could please leave your dogs at home, unless prior arrangement is made with us.

We will be having a sausage sizzle on the day to help raise funds for the club.

Email Paul Schuffelen for further information on the email address provided below.

    Hope to see you there!

    Contact: [email protected]

  2. Just had a message from a Victorian Boerboel Breeder

He is trying to organise a Boerboel day where all owners can get together and meet each other's dogs.

And also non Boerboel owners can come and meet the breed.

Can anyone think of a suitable location to hold such an event in Victoria ?

    Thanks Ash...

  3. ok well thanx for the help everyone as much as it pains me i think you are all right i never thought of the hair issue and yes i agree it would be cruel.

I dont want the dog just because its different and it think some of you miss understood what i meant. As far as some of you asking about livestock no i dont have any (i dont know if that was a stab or not) but no i dont.

All i came on here for was to find some answers not to be interigated only a few people have helped the rest i think are taking the piss.

Sorry but after reading some of the post here did piss me off and im sorry if they werent cheap shots but it did feel like it.

after reading some of the other posts i do agree that its not the best idea to have a dog like that.

As far as the going somewhere to spend time with them yes it a good idea but i was not going to get one anytime soon, i still have to save up to do it which will take a very long time and like i said i have decided against getting 1 for all the reasons everyone else has posted

Thank you all for the info

    Africa

Don't think anyone was taking the Piss.

All just good advise - no-one wants to see the wrong dog in the wrong hands

    Happens way too often.

Being from Africa yourself - have you looked into the South African Boerboel

Could be just the dog for you.

The breeder in NSW - Craig from Ataraxia Boerboels or Paul in Victoria at Dandaloo Boerboels.

Good Luck and hope you make the right choice.

  4. Don.t know why I am even posting here, cause I lost my darling Dolly to a snake today, she wasn't even 12months old and we bought her to replace my Jack Russell who was killed by a snake 12months ago...

I can't own another dog and my husband won't let me after this happening twice. we live in a normal suburban backyard. clean tidy no rubbish....tried to lock her on the deck but my sons dog skip a rescue dog kept breaking down the deck to get off.

Everyday for the not even year I had her, i would come home and fear that the same fate would happen to Dolly and what happened to Tilly and today my nightmare was realised. I can't describe how I even feel...so distraught, my chest is aching and don't know what to do with myself.

Our lawn mower man found her and rang me, the only thing I am thankful for, cause when I lost Tilly I found her and even now I still have that vision. Dolly helped me heal after I lost Tilly and now she is gone...I loved them both too much,

I am so sorry to hear your sad news.....

    Thoughts are with you.

    Big Hugs. :D

    R I P Dolly :)

  5. W :D W

    What a stunning Boy :)

Another one here who would wait until he is at least 18 Months Old...

    Good Luck With Him.

You need to hang around here on DOL so you can keep the updated Pic's posted of him as he grown up..

  6. When the storm hit it was horrendous. Flaves just managed to save her gazebo.

With the help of a few friends :dunce:

    That Storm was HUGE !!!!!

Does not feel like a years ago..

Where you of the "friends"??? I told them they were bl*(*()* mad staying out there in the first place.

Funny about that I was proven right.:rofl:  :eek:

It does not seem like a year ago. :D :dropjaw:

    Yep thats was us

We could not leave Flaves out in the storm on her own to pack up.

I even had Master 8 and Miss 11 helping out...

  7. I have also seen a Rottie pulling a cart at a shopping centre last year.

I thought it was Awesome / Cute

I am sure the weight would be in the back of the cart so not too heavy for the dog.

Hmmmm Maybe there is something Tohko is useful for after all :mad

He could take 10 kids at a time..... :D
