  1. I am obviously a fan of human names for pets and see nothing wrong with it! Jane and Gus now and in the past Bridget and Meg (my all time favourite name). Our two rats (now sadly departed) were called Ruby-Rose and Calliope. Poor Jane even gets a few more human names added when she is in big trouble... She gets Jane Mary Margaret...saying those names stops me from actually strangling her when she does the steal and bolt thing! I've always liked the name John but when Gus came along, I couldn't cope with the 'Jane and John" combo!
  2. How about a Dap Diffuser in the bedroom where he sleeps. It has really calmed my dog down. Shes a fit, healthy young dog who has always had problems settling down particularly at night and the dap has really helped! Might be worth a try!
  3. I'm glad Lacey is picking up...nothing like a sad sick dog to make you worry I think! Poor baby, tummy aches are tough on humans and animals alike!
  4. Oh Tic...Poor Lacey...it is such a worry and I hate leaving my puppies at the vet! Fingers crossed she will be fine and back to her normal lovely self in no time! Hardest part is the worry and just wanting to be there for them so I hope you get some news soon and she is home with you all ASAP!
  5. Poor man wouldn't know what to think! He has a hard enough time coping with this crazy dog lady!
  6. awww...Lovely photos of all the pups! Looks like you guys all had a great time! As always, I get to catch up with the news AFTER the event I'm glad the weather sorted itself out so you could all enjoy the day! Jane and Gus have just this minute flaked it after Gus got himself reeved up chasing cricket noises around the backyard. Very funny watching my long legged lad prance around and shove his nose into the grass every few steps
  7. Hi all! Scary business this flooding! We are all high and dry in Camperdown but it was a shock to see all the waterways such gushing torrents! Even scarier was to see all the debris slamming into the bridges! Amazing what the force of water can do! I hope Allensford and Panmure get through it ok. We were told at work that Warrny was threatened as well today so I'm glad everyone is ok!
  8. Gus and I and Aliie went to Bunnings today along with Tlc and Cooper, Shannon and Mawson and afew other doggie school people. It was pretty quiet in regards to customers but all the dogs were so relaxed and took it in their stride! Very proud of Gus...he was very calm so totally non-reactive to all the different and new sights and sounds! Tlc...I hope your not feeling too bad with your back! You are such a trooper!
  9. Well I took young Gus down to the vets to be weighed. I was almost right at guessing 30kg...he weighed in at 29.5kg! So he is officially a 'big boy' now!
  10. Sounds good about the pre-Bunnings walk Tlc. We can iron out the details later! As for the awesome foursome...just goes to show that dogs are as individual as we are! I would say that all your doggies are at their ideal weight given their level of activity as thay are all fit and lively and busier than most dogs get to be on a regular basis!
  11. It'll be good to catch up after Bunnings! Tlc...I was thinking that Gus may need to burn some energy before Bunnings too so if its ok with you, maybe Gus and I can join you and Cooper for a pre Bunnings walk as well! If thats ok, please pm me and we can work out the details. My boy will be one year old next month...the time has flown so quickly I can believe it! Seems like yesterday we bought him home from the vets as a skinny little puppy. He's grown so big...think I'll pop down to the vets and get him weighed tomorrow. I'm guessing he's around the 30kg mark by now!
  12. Hi everyone! Very happy to say bye bye to Chrissy and the new year stuff and get on with the normal routine! I wish I had logged on earlier so we didn't miss out on the walk! That'll teach me for being slack! Glad you guys all enjoyed yourselves! Tlc- Thats said news about Nanna Nike Trish sure has had a bugger of year! Did she pass away at home? Thanks for the reminder about the 9th! I'm planning on taking Gus! He's so relaxed now that he should do ok with meeting new people. Jane would be too jumpy although I will feel guilty about leaving her home. Is a walk on the cards afterwards?
  13. Everyone! Its been awhile and there were pages to catch up on! Yah...JJ's back Looks like everyone had a great/good/alright chrissy! Ours went well and the puppies mostly behaved themselves although we did lose another remote in the chaos of visiters! Chrissy breakfast went well with my parents liking my new friend (I'm too old to call him my boyfriend so he shall be called 'my new friend'!). He was abit nervous and I was s#@ting myself but it all worked out in the end! Having this new friend has made me very time poor so I'm not on the puter as much as I was. The good news is that he likes dogs and has two himself although his lab is very old and frail and may not see the Autumn. The bad news is that he finds my two er..energetic..some would say uncontrollable puppies alittle too excitable! Its going to take awhile to get him to bond with Jane due to her unfortunate habit of jumping up and then inserting her nose up his butt. For some reason, he takes offense at this even though I keep telling him its her way of saying she like him
  14. Merry Xmas everyone! I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! My parents are down from Melbourne and my brother and his partner will come for lunch so it should be good providing my very poor cooking skills recieve a xmas miracle! Plan B is to get everyone well and truely sloshed so they don't notice how bad the food is! Breakfast should be interesting as my new friend will be coming over for breaky before he picks his boys up from the ex's and heads off to his family in Warny for the day! Am I nervous? Yep...absolutely so wish me luck!
  15. Reminds me abit of Gus who we adopted from the RSPCA at 14 weeks. Appartently his mum was a golden retriever but he has always looked sight hound x to me. He was 11kg when we bought him home and is now about 28kg at 10 months. Biggest sooky lala ever and we love him to bits! Good luck with you're pretty girl!
