  2. Caz, its just amazing that Buddy has touched so many hearts and souls here and its spreading :) I am glad the salon got fined...but its such a small price to pay for the loss of your beautiful friend. I hope you eventually find peace with Buddy's loss Lynn
  3. I'm female, I don't think most males would use my username  My avatar is because I love and collect black and white cows :D Yes I always thought Steve was male, though I had seen some references to a female, I just thought it was his wife using his login So now I know Lynn
  4. My daughter was looking for a pup in the near future, she had been conversing with a breeder via email, and it was going great. Then when my daughter asked about price she never heard from the breeder again. Apparently the breeder wanted her to put her name down on the list now, my daughter didn't want a puppy yet, she just wanted to know as much information as she could from this breeder, so when she asked about the price (to get an idea of what she would have to save for)....the breeder shut off all communication She has no idea and neither do I.... Lynn
  5. I am allergic to cats and dogs, never used to be. We have 2 cats still, but they have learned never to touch me and I don't touch them. Its harder for a dog. But I can live with the sneezing, runny/itching eyes and runny nose. But a few months ago my daughter had a severe asthma attack ending up with her in the hospital, she'd had asthma before but never this bad. After lots of testing we found she was allergic to our Pug. We ended up returning him to his breeder and he now has a wonderful home. We all felt bad about it, but we were told as the asthma had worsened, it could be fatal next time. She hasn't had an asthma attack since. Sometimes you have no choice Lynn
  6. Thank you for sharing :) Some I had never seen before. Others I recognised straight away. As for the Boston Terrier, I agree looks like a Staffy, it looks bigger too. The colouring on The Gordon Setters and the Dobermans is dark, though that could be the film itself. Can't mistake the Newfoundlands or the St Bernards, they have never changed much at all. Lynn
  7. I have shared her FB page. I hope she gets found soon
  8. I would say it would be the same as above. Introduce slowly, making sure you have an out for the pup (meaning you can grab it and remove it) if things get a little too excited. Then if things look ok and your other dog appears happy, gently put the pup on the floor, but stay there just in case. I'd allow short play times, then increase it. Some dogs are just born to be together, others will never get along, a lot like humans. But most dogs do get along. I'd keep the sleeping in separate rooms thing going until your pup is a little older. You can crate them in separate crates at bed time (in the same room), at least until you can trust the older dog not to hurt....intentionally or accidentally the pup. Lynn
  9. My two youngest girls with Archie: Same girls and Annie who passed away a month or so later: I love kids and dog pics. Lynn
  10. Is it true Frenchies are really ...um...shall I say...flatulent? A Breeder told me this. Don't know about Frenchies, but Pugs are extremely flatulent (that's such a delicate way of putting it!)! Archie has only ever farted once....and that was loud, and even the cats where looking at him like How Could You! Archie just pretended it wasn't him. But no not all Pugs are flatulent :p Lynn
  11. My last choice of breed was the Pug, Boston or French Bulldog. There were all what I wanted in a dog, but Archie came along at the right time, so I got Pugged instead. Yes the shedding in Pugs is something to go at, but if its not that big an issue, then go Pug, if it is then go Boston. I think any dog will like other dogs, so long as they are socialised well and get used to them being around. Archie had never been around kids while I have had him (not sure about his breeder), but he loved them, he was more calmer than I expected and seemed to love them. However my granddaughter was terrified of Archie, but I think it was his face that scared her its only a face an owner would love Lynn
  12. Poor Dogs, get dumped because their owner for what ever reason doesn't/can't want them. Now the Kennels have been dragged into the middle of it all...how can these owners be so heartless as to just abandon these dogs in the first place? I just don't have it in me to understand why someone could/would do this Lynn
  13. I'm another that buys heaps from the USA, UK, Germany, Bulgaria, France, etc etc. Not all dog stuff, and some are big items that were shipped to my door. I use a Debit Card through PayPal if they have it, or use the Debit Card as a Visa CC. I have never had any problems. I stick mostly with those I know, or I get recommendations from other buyers. Word of mouth goes a long way :) Lynn
  14. I just found this: Refunds by law: In Australia, consumers have a legal right to obtain a refund from a business for goods purchased if the goods are faulty, not fit for purpose or don't match description. and Business obligations to repair, replace, refund All Australian traders, whether online or running a bricks and mortar operation, must comply with Australian trading laws. This includes laws on consumer guarantees. Since 1 January 2011, businesses must provide consumers with guarantees for most consumer goods and services they sell. Goods Consumers have the right to ask for a repair, replacement or refund if the goods you sold are: faulty unsafe look unacceptable, and do not do what they are supposed to do In each case this is according to what someone would normally expect for the type and cost of the particular goods. Consumers also have this right if goods you sold them do not: fit the purpose you discussed with them match the description provided match the sample or demonstration model provided have the extra qualities or performance that you promised before the sale. Services Consumers have the right to ask for a repair, replacement or refund if the services you sold: were not delivered completely or with adequate care and skill did not fit the purpose or give the results that you and the consumer had agreed to were not delivered within a reasonable time where there is no agreed date. These rights arise from the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that provide consumers with a right to seek remedies where there are problems with goods or services. Other laws apply for products and services you bought before 1 January 2011. What types of businesses must offer consumer guarantees? Consumer guarantees apply automatically to most products and services supplied by businesses in retail, service, online and hire situations. No refunds It is illegal for businesses to tell customers or show signs stating that they do not under any circumstances give refunds. Must businesses automatically give a repair, replacement or refund? No. This will depend on the consumer showing proof of purchase and whether or not there is a major problem with the product or service. Proof of purchase can include a receipt, bank statement, a completed warranty card or a lay-by statement. Where the problem is not major, you can offer to repair, replace or refund the product or fix the problem with the service. For a major problem with a product, the consumer has the right to choose whether you give them a replacement or refund. For a major problem with a service, the consumer can choose compensation for the drop in value below the price paid, or a refund. If you choose to repair the product or fix the problem with the service, you must carry this out within a reasonable time. From here: http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1023609 There's heaps of information out there on Consumer Law. Good Luck OP. Lynn
