I don't think they would have the stats for the FCI and KNVP only because in 2009 there still was only a hand full competing in Belguim and France. There is still so much work to be done with these breed and ensure it doesn't end up in the wrong hands to RUIN and ensure quality is achieved. There is no quality ones here 'yet' in Australia, and still there is the problem of importing with 'fake' pedigree's behind them. People can pay in Belguim for their titles so you if anyone is thinking of getting one, ensure you know someone over in Europe that has been around the rings for many years to ensure there is no 'fake pedigree'. We have working Mals in Oz that have either been imported or their Semen has been that have alot of fakes, this has occured in the last 24 months, this is experienced people not doing thier research with the correct breeders

updated story TWO Australian soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan as Taliban insurgents launched a fresh wave of attacks. The Diggers belonged to the Mentoring Task Force and are the first Australians to die in 11 months, bringing the total number of campaign deaths to 13. In total 10 NATO soldiers were killed today. It is the first time since the Vietnam war that two Australian soldiers had died in combat on the same day. Chief of the Defence Force General David Hurley said the two Australian soldiers were serving in the Brisbane-based 2nd combat engineer regiment and part of an Australian forces dismounted patrol operating in the Eastern Province. Can't wait for Rudd to get out of the big seat! Queensland's Premier Anna Bligh has confirmed two Australian soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan. NATO has confirmed 10 of its soldiers - seven of them American - were killed in a string of attacks in Afghanistan overnight, the deadliest day for the alliance this year and one of the worst of the conflict. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd earlier declined to confirm whether two Australian soldiers were among the dead, but that was subsequently confirmed by Ms Bligh. The Federal Government will hold a press conference at 10:30am AEST to give more details of what it calls the "operational incident". The ABC understands that the incident involved members of the Mentoring Task Force, which works with Afghan troops, and that next of kin in Australia have already been informed. Ms Bligh told Parliament it is believed one of the dead soldiers is from Queensland. "I think on all sides here today our hearts go out to the families of these two soldiers who have died in the war on terror and the fight for peace," she said. "These two soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice and it's a very sad day for their families." This morning Mr Rudd declined to comment ahead of the press conference. In Afghanistan over night we lost 2 soldiers and a dog. Nothing yet been seen on the news, but it will be up shortly. The families have been informed. My deepest sympathy to the families and members of the unit. RIP

I was asked questions like from one breeder: Where would the pup sleep? What types of fences do i have? Have i owned this breed before? What is my work situation? What is my family situation? What other pets do I own? What were my intentions of the pup? Another breeder said: When you can place your deposit into our account? That was the only question.

So its ok to breed every season with the bitch? PFFF Please RSPCA get a grip... Would rescue groups be happy with their animals at a pet shop? I didn't realise that if you inbred you could inherit problems! Maybe if they just start hitting these BYB's and puppy farms with huge fines they might stop. How about $10k for breeding a animal without being registered and send that money back into our pounds???

These so called breeders sell mature dogs (after 6 litters) that are only given attention during feed or kennel cleaning time would need a lot of time with humans to educate them about the way of life a dog should have, including inside, baths, walkies, kids, training etc.... But we still have in your way of saying a BYB and Puppy farms being run by registered breeders. These breeders do not health test the dogs and will sell every pup on main register, they will also advertise as "show quality" even though the pups are not born or are one week of age, how the heck can you tell if they are show quality when you have no idea how they have developed?? Several different breeds of litters on the ground at one time, and today I saw on one particular breeders site 7 litters of the same breed how can a couple give enough attention to every pup in those litters? Top dollar is being spent on these pups, because the general public are not aware of the health risks involved in every breed.

All for education..but if people have it in their heads to breed then they're not going to desex. If you cannot afford to have a dog desexed then you shouldn't own a dog. In the scheme of things desexing isn't a huge expense. So you are telling me that a 70 year old lady that can not afford to desex her dog that she has because there is no one else around can not own a dog because she can not afford to desex because she is on a pension? Desexing is a huge expense in the year 2010, over $200 for the average dog/bitch. That is someone's shopping for the week, rent, petrol, bills.... My house payments have gone up by $500 a month in 5 months. Now explain to me why someone that can not afford to desex their animal shouldn't own a dog? Because it is irresponsible to own a dog if you can't afford the costs involved. So you are saying don't let the poor own animals? They are probably more responsible than any BYB or puppy farmer out there and also give their animals LOVE!

We don't have a REAL education program in Australia to educate people. And there are still vets out there that do not push desexing enough for cross breed dogs and even pets. $4millon was raised by Pedigree to help with the adoption program, none of that is going towards a education program. The RSPCA should also be running a desexing program... they make a BUCKET load of money a year.

Nope, it is hard enough getting my boy to go out side for a pee... He would rather hang on all day than get his feet wet! He was crated last night 8.30pm and didn't go to the toilet until the rain stopped at 9am this morning... little faggot!

Mas - They say Black dogs seem to get it easier, Labs, GSD, Rotti, etc.

Mas - are most of those cases the owner not vaccinating the dogs when they were pups? Or failure to listen to vets advice on vaccination rulings, like don't take your pups to dog parks when they are not covered? You don't hear about many cases of adult dogs that had been vaccinated contracting it, and the only way they will is if their immune system has been wiped out.

Foot balls last over 12 months here, Kmart $20, pump them up only half way and they love running around. The staffy ball is still going strong, lion's can't destroy them, I think they are about $70, but shop around.

Both Blacktown and Windsor pounds. The RSPCA is over 1 hour drive, so wouldn't think anyone would take them there, but if they were chipped you should receive a phone call.

The washing machine lint filter is always full and lately with using the dryer OMG! I have no carpet, so I see the hair everywhere on the floor boards and tiles the same day after cleaning them... so imagine what is in the carpets??

Risk is you as a buyer NOT doing your research.... like buying a puppy with the parents not health tested or you not given papers for the tests from the parents! If you haven't got the time to research and find a ethical breeder. If they promise you papers, GET IT IN WRITING in a contract. You as a buyer have the rights to see the breeders prefix papers and membership details of the CC of the state they are in. What I said isn't going to get papers for the pup, but seriously people need to research.... I Read the breeders section all the time about emails and puppy inquiries. They get emails daily asking HOW MUCH?, not are the parents tested? What are their temps like? Will the pups be on main or limited register? Are they suitable for showing? Is there limitations on the sales? How much grooming is involved? What age will they be fully grown? Would you recommend this breed with young kids? BB I think it is time for you to do your research.... I don't get caught Nickojoy and I do plenty of research to find the right breeder with the dogs I require. What I have found recently though, the breeders with the "attitude" and all the restrictions actually don't have the best dogs, and think they are too good to keep working at it hard enough and the more humble enthusiastic breeders are passing them by :p well you need to have some respect for them... If they do not have the "best dogs" and they are placing the pups on "restrictions" instead of everyone on the MAIN register GOOD ON THEM.... there should be more of them..... :D It's fine if you like hoop jumping for an average dog You are NOT HEARING WHAT I AM SAYING, you need to go back to the puppy listings and research each breed, there are too many breeders out there selling every pup on the main register, these are not all of quality, so if one or two breeders more do it, it is better for the breed, at least the average puppy then isn't bred from.
