  1. Hi Jules, it looks like the top left brown one http://www.staffy-bull-terrier.com/american_pitbull_terrier_photos It might be a staffy cross. But definitely bull terrier breed. Is he often on his headphones? Ones that clip on the ear? He has scruffy hair as well? The 2 dogs 1 is brown another is black or dark brown. And yes he did seem clueless at the time n very ignorant.
  2. Thanks again for everyone's concern. She is recovering well and will need secondary surgery to remove the dead skin according to the vet. Yes I agree with Leah, everyone gotta make sure in these situations to always remember to get the owners details or take a photo of the dog and the owner. Same.. Prolly won't go Ruffey Lake ever again with my dogs.. Hankdog, that's great to hear about your chicken. Yes I agree no doubt modern medicine is a miracle these days. I can totally understand where you are coming from. It's frustrating to hear another story about a stereotype to a specific breed type. But again statistically based on what we hear in the media doesn't help with our stereotype. River star aura, that's such a beautiful story what you experienced. And yes to everyone there are some very irresponsible owners out there it's shocking. Unfortunately even sometimes as much precautions you take at a leash free park (which in this case I had them on a leash), its pointless when there are other irresponsible owners out there with their dog leash free still putting us responsible owners at risk. From the way he reacted to the bite, he didn't even seem to care or didn't even react in shock. Thinking back, it just seems like he might have experienced this before where his dog might have attacked before. Otherwise he would've been in shock or compassionate when he wasn't at all. I will be going back next week to take some photos and also want to try my luck with finding the owner with the 2 dogs n try and snap a photo or confront him. I just don't want to put another dog at risk of this again.
  3. Hi everyone, thank you so so much for all your concerns. I'm very grateful that she's alive to be honest. Witnessing it happen i thought I was going to loose her. Am very proud of all that she went through n she's been very tough. Thanks for the Manuka honey tip! Will definitely use it! As for joining years ago, I registered to dogz online looking for a toy poodle breeder hence the name toy poodle crazy. Seeing that this forum has so many passionate dog lovers is amazing. Will definitely be visiting this site more often and also contributing to it now. Cheers peeps! :)
  4. Thanks Kavik and Ninja. Here's another photo for you, Sabbath. Second day in.
  5. First off id like to thank everyone for their concerns. Thankfully she is recovering fine. But will need a second surgery to remove a part of the dead skin. It was not a pure bred pitbull. My apologies. It might be a cross it looks exactly like the brown one at the top left first photo in this http://www.staffy-bu..._terrier_photos. The only reason I know it's that breed is because I frequent dog shows and have shown my small dog for a little while. Hence the knowledge of dog breeds. I do apologise if I've offended anyone by mentioning pitbull specific and if I may have put a strong stereotype in my first post. It was intended to be purely just a creation of awareness for leash free parks and also to becareful of owners that are irresponsible and the park at doncaster in particular. Hi sabbath If you don't buy the story. Please find attached the photo as evidence. N why would I make up such a story anyway?? Yes I have reported the entire incident to the council and also described the man and the dogs. I really do hope they can find him. N yes it's the owner to blame in this case. He was on his headphones not taking care of his dogs at the time of this incident. Also his ignorant attitude proves to show how irresponsible he is.
  6. Didn't know where to post this to raise awareness and also to warn all dog owners when taking their dogs to a leash free park. A walk at the park ended up being an unexpected attack from a pitbull terrier. The man had 2 dogs. 1 black and another light brown pitbull. He had the dogs off leash as it is a leash free area. But my dogs were on a leash. Both dogs came to my dogs and the light brown pitbull picked up my dog on the back and swung it for a few seconds and didn't want to let go. The owner of the 2 dogs in his late 30s, muscular, dark skin n dark hair were on his headphones unaware (even after a loud scream from me and my dog) not knowing and attending to the incident at a delayed time. That pitbull was very very ferocious and even jumped on me after I picked up my dog and wanted to attack my dog again after I picked it up. His response was just a light tap on the dog's face n said. You are not to do that. You cannot do that. Even so the pitbull was still in a very ferocious state and wanting to attack. Then he just gave an insincere apology briefly and just walked off and still left both the dogs unleashed. Worried about my dog's injury and being in shock I didn't get a chance to get his details and sped off to try and get my dog to the vet ASAP! The owner was very ignorant not even looking after his dogs during the walk and imagine if a child got attacked by that dog. If it had the capabilities of attacking my dog. It would have a potential to attack any child. This is just another example of a pitbull attack. I hear these stories about these dogs but never realised the danger until I encountered it personally myself. My dog had to be sent into an emergency procedure n the entire skin on the back of my dog was separated from the flesh of the body as a result. She was very very lucky the vet said to not have any injured organs or any internal injuries. But still a big patch on her back skin is now at 50% chance of recovery to its original skin. To anyone taking their dogs to a leash free park, please keep an eye out especially if you have a smaller dog. Unfortunately as much as we take as much precautions but there are some irresponsible owners out there spoiling it for everyone else. Just thought I'd raise awareness about this. Also I really hope the govt either put a ban on this breed or ensure the owners are properly licensed or trained to keep these dogs. Not just pointing specifically on this breed, just owners in general need to be more responsible and the owner was very ignorant and becareful when going to a leash free zone.
