  1. Hi Im searching for a good chiropractor for my bf's dog Buddy. Anyone have any good feedback for someone in Perth WA? Thanks
  2. Hi I was hoping i could get some info on alternative medications for dogs. My pup and my boyfriends dog were playing together about 3 weeks ago. The next morning my bf noticed Buddy limping from his rear leg. He left it for 2 days- keeping an eye on him to see if it would get better. It didnt so we took him to the vet. The vet said he has pulled a tendon in his leg- around the doggy knee area. We were giving anti-inflamitories, told to keep him away from other dogs for 3 weeks to rest up. That was fine, and then she mentioned the very slight possibility of surgery! My bf asked about pricing and was told close to $5000. Buddy is a Pointer x dalmation x something BIG! My bf then freaked out saying he couldnt afford surgery if it come to that and thought of re-homing buddy. I went nuts at him as we had rescued buddy and i wasnt going to let him be given away again, just because my partner is living week to week. Buddy's leg seemed to be fine- so after the 3 weeks of rest my bf took him for a walk around the block and he has started limping again... Is there any alternative things we can give him to speed up the recovery? Or to simply help his leg heal? I know you can give dogs, human anti- histimines----- what about anti-inflamitories? Or some natural healing tablets? The last vet cost $200 and i hoped theres something we can give him to keep the costs low so my bf doesnt start to re-think keeping buddy. as then i will have to move to a bigger rental and take him with me and my pup!! i would never let him be given away again. Poor dog has been rejected before and once is more than enough!
  3. Yep it was that vaginatis. Vet said it is pretty normal and most puppies get it until they reach puberty. Most have a smallish amount, some have a bit more. Gave her some anti biotics to help clear it up, but he said some may remain and that is completely normal :D
  4. The vet only had a free spot at 5.30 tonight so taking her then. It doesnt smell or anything so i left it for over a week to see if it would clear up on its own, I thought it may have something to do with her coming into heat in a few weeks? But shes only 5.5 months old. It hasnt cleared up, so i thought id ask if it was normal and if not was going to take her for a check up I want to weigh her on the big machine anyway. I tried weighing her on my bathroom scales but one paw keeps falling off! I will let everyone know tomorrow what it is, i doubt it will be anything nasty but she may need anti biotics and for peace of mind i would like to know for sure what it is.
  5. Thankyou for the fast reply Will make her an appointment now.
  6. Hi Everyone Im hoping you can give me some info. For about the past two weeks my 5 month old puppy has been having a thickish white/yellow discharge from her girly bits. Its thick enough to sort of dangle a bit before either i clean it off or she licks it off... I have heard some dogs start going on heat about 6 months and im wondering if this might have something to do with it? I havent noticed any bad smell.. and she seems fine in all other aspects. Any idea?? Otherwise will be taking her to the vet for a check-up
  7. My puppy got her C5 vac and her microchip in the same few minutes. She made a tiny muffled cry (her mouth was too busy eating treats the vet gave her to make a good yelp!!) Just give your dog a treat that he needs to chew or put a few down that can be easily swallowed. It only takes a second.. no problems at all! My pup got out 3 days after she was chipped... and she was taken to the vet, they scanned her and got all her and my details.. they are a must.
