  1. I've got some spare balloon boots if anyone is interested. Mine are the Pawz brand and are size medium (package says it can fit beagles, cockers, vizslas, dachshund, Tibetan terrier). And they fit my old corgi.
  2. Hahaha how on earth! Why on earth!
  3. Oh jeez. I thought you're supposed to go through the options available with clients. What if they had legitimately not known that they could work with the poor pup or rehome? I don't think my reaction is because I expect all vets to rehome every pet, but I'd expect clients are given the chance to make informed decisions. Just because one person takes offence doesn't mean your efforts should be stopped
  4. IF anyone is interested, Coursera and the University of Edinburgh are running a 5-week online course called "Animal Behaviour and Welfare" https://www.coursera.org/course/animal It started yesterday. Just letting you know there are some images and videos in the slides that can be distressing (pigs in enclosures, horses struggling to pull extremely heavy loads) but so far, I haven't come across anything as graphic as what pops up on Facebook. The lecturers have a statement of ethics regarding these images, clarifying how they came across these videos. The first week has introduced me to the use of objective measures of animal welfare and the history of animal welfare. Interestingly, at one stage the Catholic Church banned the RSPCA in Rome. The first week has given me a bit to think about and process, especially ethics vs animal welfare. A lot of people posting here probably have a strong grasp of what the course covered but I am enjoying it as a "hobby" animal person :)
  5. Very interesting clips. I'd really love to do a course or something on dog body language.
  6. Oh right, think I was being too optimistic! How bloody terrifying but I am glad to hear the physical injuries are relatively minor.
  7. Is it possible the croc thought it was grabbing its chunk of meat back when it grabbed the guy's hand? Just thinking of when I've been accidentally grabbed by my dog. She let go immediately though!
  8. Lol yes that part of the video was quite hilarious! Such a helpful rotty. When one door closes you get treats <3
  9. Shutting the doors is awesome! I need to teach this because I forget to shut cupboards and then turn around and everything is wide open.
  10. I just find the mum bringing the pups to your bed so touching. Everyone has to be close and snug. RIP little girl
  11. Gosh, her ears in that 2nd pic have melted my heart. Coat looks good too! But those ears!
  12. Sounds like she has landed on her feet! I was so worried the girl would take her home and she'd be miserable. Hope it's easy and smooth to get her transferred in your name.
  13. Yes, I was playing along at home. What a strange situation. Do you think the girl has actually given you the dog? Or are they treating your house like the dog's kennel?
  14. Wow, one of my biggest mysteries solved. Love it, they look so haughty doing it.
  15. I would get legal advice for a refund and I'd move - landlord sounds like an unreasonable jerk. No doubt they'll end up saying the turf needs replacing. Sorry you're in this situation. Just makes me so furious.
  16. I can't help with the first question but I would love to do a course on canine body language. One aimed at dog owners, rather than people studying to be a professional dog trainer.
  17. Gosh, rotties don't look like they age at all. They seem to stay so black and glossy. Stunning :)
  18. Yeah I like that the owner also acknowledged it could've been dangerous at the end. Think he was covering all bases with his commentary! But how embarrassing for Tank. And even worse it's on the internet forever and ever. Hopefully the bin delights were worth it lol.
  19. Amazed he thinks to move the chair!
  20. She clearly loved the life and adventures you gave her :) love her fitting her head in her dug out hole. What a lucky dog and lucky people.
  21. Hahaha this is the best. I don't know why it's so funny but I've lost it over here!
  22. So cute lol. Making the perfect shape to fit.
  23. Wow thanks for the links! That site is a goldmine. But I shall start with the foundation marker/food/tug stuff first. And hopefully I will have a video some time next year...! Paddles, I am in Melbourne :)
  24. Does anyone know of any good youtube videos etc that show how this is trained? I want to learn!
  25. Oh Snook, you've said exactly what I wanted to write but got too teary rereading Jelly's post and had to close the window. No guilt or forgiveness needed, Jelly. There's just so much love between the two of you. So sorry for your loss x
