  1. My puppy Sophie has always slept inside, usually on the bed with my other dog. She is given plenty of toilet breaks during the night and 99% of the time we are accident free, however the last 2 nights she has just peed on the bed!!! No indication before hand that she needed to go to the bathroom. I don't know if it makes a difference that she was in a bed she doesn't normally sleep in but this is something I definatley do not want to happen again. I want to nip it in the bud now!!! Any suggestions/advice will be much appreciated!!!
  2. I'm trying to get sophie use to sleeping on her bed on the floor, but I always wake up in the middle of the night to find her in the bed. Seeing as she can't jump on it yet, I can only assume I am picking her up in my sleep lol. My other dog sleeps on the bed, and with the 2 of them in the single bed I'm in at the moment its a little crowded, but I don't mind cause nothing beats puppy cuddles in the morning
  3. Also any other adv on puppies would be very helpful! I havent had a puppy in years!! Like when should I start walking them etc!
  4. Hi! I'm an new/old member. Haven't been on for awhile. But since last time have added a new addition to my family, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sophie. She is 11 weeks old today, she is gorgeous and I love her too bits. One problem with her though: girls got a set of lungs on her like nothing I have ever heard and she is BIG on using them when she can't get her own way. She is outside a bit with the 2 other dogs but we have a doggy door so when thats unlocked she can come back inside when she wants too, however during the day I am at work. My mum is at home for part of the day but when she goes out, Sophie obviously can't stay inside alone, and when she can't get back inside she makes it known, and it is a terrible terrible noise! Now I have made it clear to everyone do NOT pay her attention or give her what she wants when she is doing this, but is there anything else I can do, because the stay at my mums is only temporary whilst I am building a house, and when that is finished in DEC/JAN she will be coming with me along with my other dog Peppy, and they will be at home during the day while I am at work and I don't wont her howling down the neighbourhood all day! So any tips/hints/suggestions would be appreciated! Here are some pictures of her: Cheers Cass
  5. Yup heartworm is up to date too scarlet Yeah I figured it was the weather but the OH was getting a bit worried that it wasn't normal so I thought Id double check.
  6. He's about 20-25kg. We don't regularly weigh him but we do check every now and then.
  7. Thanks guys I had a feeling it was the weather. Ill just make sure he has plenty of water and swims (he loves the pool!!)
  8. interesting but there has been no change in his lifestyle to cause extra excitement or stress, I will keep that in the back of my mind though
  9. Hi! We've noticed latley that my OH's 10 month old black labrador has been panting alot. He is panting when he is lying down or just walking around and hasnt done any exercise or has any reason to be panting. He still seems to be his normal self. I thought it might be as a reaction to the weather getting warmer but its still not all that hot or humid up here yet so Im a bit clueless. All his worming etc is up to date Does anyone have any idea why he could be panting so much??? Thanks
  10. Cass here - Im going to give the vets a call and get vader into the vets next week for a check up. He seems fine now, if not a little more hypo then usual I just think its a good idea he gets checked over. Thanks for all your advice
  11. Good news, I wormed him and after the last day or two he has gone back to normal and his droppings are solid. He is back to being a guts again On another note, he has been particuarly hypo and licky/mouthy since. Whats up with that?
  12. I only fed him a small handful, probably half a cup of puppy food. Im going to get some worming tables tomorrow, by all accounts it looks like roundworm. Poor little puppy :D
  13. He has a big belly again after I fed him. He doesn't seem to be distressed but is still wheezing a little.
  14. Worm him :D Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia, weakness, and breathing difficulty. Even small amounts can cause cumulative damage over time. This includes onions or chives - raw, powdered, dehydrated, or cooked. I ran out of tables. Does the onion leave his system over time? He seems fine now.
  15. I worded that poorly, he only had a big gut overnight. He seems fine now he spewed, and is running around playing as usual. I'll keep an eye on him though, but I dont think he needs to go to the vet. Trajic, he is an only child
