The cremains are not put into the gem. Carbon is extracted from the cremains and the gem is formed from that. Apparently they need as little as 8oz. to do the process. They can also extract the carbon from hair too(not sure if fur works the same way though). If you go to the LifeGem website they have a section on the process. ETA: LifeGem makes diamonds out of the carbon extracted from the cremains.

I would contact the company and see how much they would need for the process. My husband's previous roommate/landlord is one of the co-founders of LifeGem , headquartered in Illinois in the US. They also have a location in England.

We gave our Rottie Brodie his wings tonight. Almost 2 years ago I found a hard lump on his left shoulder, about the size of a golf ball. With the x-rays that were taken the vets said it was a bone tumor with all the characteristics of being cancer. I would no allow them to do a biopsy. For the first 18 months we had no problems with the lump. It did continue to grow but it did not interfere with his movement. In the last 6 months it had grown to the size of a softball and he started to limp. Within the past month he started to lose weight also, despite still eating his normal amount of food each day. It was so very hard to make this decision because Brodie's Spirit and attitude never changed. He was still my happy go lucky goofball. He will be greatly missed!! R.I.P. Boo. I love you! Jaime

The ground crew for the airlines load and un-load all cargo, including animals. As far as the cargo hold temperature, I'm not sure how that system works. If it's anything like the passenger cabin system then it wouldn't fully kick in until the bird is in the air and operating at full power. And, as has been said, temperature on the tarmac is usually much hotter than actual air temp due to the sun heating up the asphalt.

I think that depends on the state/municipality, but yes, many off-duty cops carry their weapons with them. Even when off-duty if they come upon a situation that warrants police interference they can/are allowed to "do their duty" as an officer of the law. However to take your loaded, off-duty firearm to a dog park where there are lots of people and probably children running around is just plain stupid. Also, this guy was not a local police officer. He is a federal officer, so think glorified security guard.

I think the clips she is talking about are ones that are typically on the ends of leashes, or something similar, correct me if I am wrong Tilly. Most hardware stores carry just the clip part. A friend of mine uses the smaller clips for her ferrets cages since those little buggers are master escapers.

Go talk to the Mom first and tell her about the knife. Then inform her that you would like to call the police and ask them to come have a talk with the youngster in hopes of scaring him straight, so to speak, since your OH's talk apparently did not work. If mom is OK with that then do exactly that. If not then let her know that if she or the father do not stop the knife throwing you will call the police and file a report if there should ever be another incident involving dangerous things being thrown over the fence. Do they own or rent the house? If they rent you can also inform her you will file a complaint with the property manager the next time something happens. Let her know that not only are you concerned about the safety of yourself, your OH, and your dogs but also for her children because you wouldn't want any of you ending up hurt because the kid is playing with such a sharp object. Ok, just read your reply about the trampoline. Are you serious?!?!?!? Who the heck is watching this kid and why is he still allowed access to the knives??? That is a tragic accident just waiting to happen!!

PetsMart here in the US have a program like this. We got one of our cats this way. We were in PetsMart wasting some time and went over by the Adoptions area to look at the cats/kittens that were available. We'd been talking about adding a cat/kitten for some time and we saw a littler of kittens in one of the larger kennels. We filled out the adoption application and a couple of days later we were contacted by the rescue that had the kittens up for adoptions. I have. We were having issues with one of our cats and hubby was ready to send her on a one way trip to the vet. The communicator I used had been at a rescue event about a month or so prior and one of my friends had done a reading with her about her Rott. According to my friend she was spot on about her dog and even knew some things that she could not have known. She definitely helped us with our cat issue and I wouldn't hesitate to call her again should anything else arise. I do think that you need to be careful when looking into something like that though, and do some very thorough research on the person and their qualifications. I'm sure there are a lot of scam artists out there but there are also some very genuine ones too.

I've seen a few episodes of the show and it's really good. The people really love these dogs and do as much as they can and travel great distances to rescue pitties in need and do there absolute best to match them with the right owners.

Not sure if this has been posted before or not, even if it has it's definitely worth another listen/look.

Sorry I haven't been back to give an update in awhile, so here goes. It's been almost 5 months since Brodie's diagnosis and he's still with us and as goofy as ever. He is still on pain meds but I was able to reduce the amount from 2 tablets 3 times a day to 2 tablets twice a day. Which the vets were happy to hear. We've also had 2 sets of follow-up x-rays. One set in March and another set today and the vets couldn't see any noticeable changes in either the lump on his shoulder on the spots in his lungs which they were quite surprised about. So, all in all we had a great visit to the vet this afternoon and were told to keep doing what we're doing because whatever it is it seems to be working.

We are currently giving Essiac Tea to our Rottweiler, Brodie. He was diagnosed in January of this year with Osteosarcoma. He has it in his front left leg, he has a large lump on his shoulder, and it looks to have already spread to his lungs. I don't know if the tea is helping but he is now 5 months post diagnosis and has had 2 sets of follow-up x-rays and the vets at the office have not seen any noticeable changes in either the lump on his shoulder on the spots in his lungs. Quite frankly, they are a little bit stumped because the cancer is not behaving as they would normally see and neither is Brodie. We also changed his diet a little when he was diagnosed. He is now on a grain-free kibble called Taste of the Wild, he gets extra protein with his meals usually in the form of chicken, turkey or beef (I try to get all natural or organic meats for him) He gets about a half pound of extra protein with each meal and is fed twice daily. We also give him 1x1000mg capsule of Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil each day to up his Omega 3. So far this seems to be working very well for our boy.
