  1. but this is how it happens with challenge points, so should that change too? I agree with Shaar - This is a meant to be a best of breed competition, it is not the same as earning championship points for your title. The results of this competition are advertised and promoted, unlike championship points. How can the leader board be accurate and represent the best dog/s in a breed when the second placed dog/bitch at a show if it is a reserve challenge RUBOB gets no points?? Especially when the effectively third placed dog/bitch does get points. I believe RUBOB should get the BOB points as stated on the certificate less 1 point. That is the only way this competition can be fair. The points can easily be checked against the other results entered for that show. Including the RUBOB can still be changed for 2012 it is not too late, to make the competition more accurate!!!!
  2. I think most of the new rules are definitely in the right direction and help to make this a fair competition. It is the loss of RUBOB in the Breed Competition that I am struggling with. I agree the breed competition needed improvement - removing the baby puppies, absentees and Neuters was a correct move. Including the opposite DCC or BCC was also appropriate. What I don’t see is how the competition can still represent the best dogs in the breed with the deletion of the RUBOB. I have competed in two shows this year and in both shows my bitch received reserve challenge and RUBOB. In the 2011 competition she would have received - 16 + 15 = 31 breed score points and In the 2012 competition as RUBOB she received 0 + 0 = 0. The BOB received 15 + 15 = 30 points. The DCC on both the days only competed against 3 other males and gets 9 + 9 = 18 points. The DCC beats 3 dogs and gets 9 points and the RUBOB beats 9 dogs is declared second best on the day and gets no points?? I cannot see how the 2012 competition is a correct and fair representation of the best of the breed??
  3. I love twilight shows! I have attended them in Perth and Darwin and we should have many more in Victoria in the warmer months. The atmosphere is fantastic, the dogs love it, and you have all day at home to get things done. Friday night shows would have to have a later start for those of us that work full time. Saturday would be great and Sunday would be hard for those working on Monday. Although, I would rather a twilight on Sunday that showing in the heat during the day. Picking a temperature that is too hot to show is too hard because there are so many opinions as to what the temperature is. What do you rely on - News, weather aps, readings at the venue (surface/air)too many variables. How would everyone be informed? When would the decision be made? If it is 40+ during the day do you cancel the night show? I selected change the show time because of all of these reasons.
  4. I couldn't believe this comment when I read it, so many similarities: I also have a ccrates trailer purchased in 2009 and it leaks (front tack box and front dog bays), we have tried numerous times to fix it, including having a marine cover made for the tack box and still we cannot stop the water getting in. We have had to fix a wheel bearing whilst on a road trip and the tyre was smoking. Seems we have had the same problems so I was wondering if your spare tyre has fallen off yet? If not I would carefully check it, ours rusted through in under one year where the weld joins held on the back frame. We had to have the frame re-welded to make it strong enough to hold the spare.
  5. =http://www.ecco.com/au/en/collection/women/golf/index.jsp I love my new ECCO street golf shoes. We need to be able to run with our guys, so they give me the grip I need esp. on wet grass. They are really comfortable and I love the colours, I found it hard to pick which one to buy.
  6. I have had my Altegra for over two years now and it has held up when many others have ended up in broken heaps. When leaving it up overnight I drop it, peg it down, put on all 4 walls (stops the wind getting in and lifting it) and guy rope all 4 corners. Never had an issue. The Altegra is more expensive but worth it. I also have a landcruiser and if you are not buying the compact version you will fit in a full size Altegra with one of the back seats down. If I was purchasing another one I would purchase the compact version so it can fit in smaller spaces. When I had my trailer made I had to get it made extra wide to take the Altegra (sick of it in the car). I have the light weight Alterga (22kg) in total. The bag has wheels so really do not have to lift full weight. I just lift one end and roll it into the car/trailer. Hope this helps your final selection................
