  1. im not sure but it was a week after she went missing that i got the call. I dont think originally they stole her for the reward, im still not sure they actually had her or it was someone they knew, but they definatly didnt return her out of the goodness of their heart, they did want to know her name though and the girl that was with the guy looked upset maybe or just very nervous. Just not sure i wish Sacha could talk and tell me lol
  2. hi guys yep she is safe at home now We still arnt sure where she was apparently she was in Ningan but i have my doubts, We got the phone call asking about the reward and pretty much they wouldnt do it for less than 500!!!! They wouldnt give a name or number which made me suss straight away and it wasnt from the goodness of their heart! Luckily i had a good friend with me that came to meet them and managed to get her back for half that, its so sad that people are that desperate for money to do that. At the end of the day i think most people will do and pay what they can just to have their dog back and some scum bags take advantage of it. And i did ring the police and they were no help, i had already offered an award and agreed on the amount, of course i wouldv i just wanted my dog back! Afterwards i spoke to the rspca and it is illegal to hold a dog but most dont know that they should be taken straight to a shelter, i wish i knew that when i had called the police. She looked bathed and had a collar on, but was skinny and covered in fleas and not very happy but she quickly got back to her flea free self!
  3. No news yet tybrax im going back down to the pound they must be sick of me now lol i know they will scan her but i keep thinking what if it doesnt come up and she is stuck in one of those cold kennels i just want to take them all home
  4. Hey Cin i sent an email, il recheck i did it properly my brain has been mush with no sleep. Some non people think im mad with how upset iv been, they say oh its just a dog, but she is my grandbubba!
  5. Hi guys im not sure what section to put this in but i have a nearlly 2yr old female amstaff that has gone missing late afternoon 24th May. She is my co owned girl, so my grandbubba and her owners are out of their mind with worry and her best friend their 4yrold is beside himself She disapeared from her yard, of her new house in Anson Street. the yard is divded into two, she was in the back yard, the front fence was shut when they left but open when they came back. Not sure is she was taken or someone has opened the gates (sometimes family will go through the sliding door at the back side) but she is gone ='( I have done up flyers, rang the vets, pet shops, radio am going to go to newspapers, rspca and now trying online resources. Here is the flyer i have put up around town
  6. i dont get it? was it their dog? how could a dog get in in the first place? Plus did it maul the child... i remember a story ages ago about a mother walked in to find her dog ' playing' like toy with her baby and of course it died. But to be in the same room on the same bed with a powerful dog you would have to have woken up. hmm there has to be something more to this, a horribly sad situation RIP little baby this should NEVER of happened
  7. That brought tears to my eyes but also a smile,i hope he finds lots of things in doggie heaven, RIP flog beautiful tribute
  8. Do you mind if i cross post this for the amstaff community
  9. Controls for BREEDERS of these dogs would be more appropriate - those breeders who allow their pedigree AmStaffs or Staffies or whatever to be sold without desexing are not acting in a responsible manner. "Registered" Breeders of pedigree dogs should be more circumspect as to where their puppies go. If people who have these Bull breeds are so concerned about the bad name their breed might be receiving, then they should work together to make sure no-one outside their breeds receives an entire male or female. I do have to mention that I am totally blown away by the number of AmStaff X puppies that are advertised for sale in the Adelaide Advertiser Pets - Dogs for sale column each Saturday. I think that shows there are too many undesexed pups being sold. I must say the majority of amstaff breeders i know are VERY choosey on where their pups go. Just because it says amstaff or amstaffx il bet 90% arnt even amstaffs. But there are always those out there chasing the money. We had amstaffs stolen up this way, alot do get stolen and i remember ringing around locally to all the ' amstaff' or x litters being born around the time that this bitch may of had pups if she had come on when thought by her owners.... well no one locally up here had amstaffs not one litter couldv even been called amstaffx once seen. This is what needs to be cracked down on, and every person i saw once i seen the pups got a lecture and told firmly they didnt have an amstaff, sad thing some really beleived they had an amstaff, even if they ended up saying oh actually its a pitbull, or x and were just advertising that to find homes.. ;) most that where called pitbulls by the owners looked nothing like one. And nearlly all had no idea of the implications of owning an amstaff without papers.
  10. Animal Adoption Agency in Sydney this might get some more replies here i hope... Hi Has anyone ever delt with these people before? I have a problem, a young couple has come to me about a dog they have brought off these people as a purebred amstaff! Now he has informed them that because it has the microchip papers as an amstaff it IS an amstaff and they dont need papers.... They have rescused this lovely 2.5 yr old desexed amstaff bitch and took it to penrith obedience club where they were promtly told they could not be helped with her as she is a pitbull and they have nothing to prove otherwise and were told a scray story about pitbulls, then the fines etc, the regulations of owning a danderous bredd etc and were terrified.... they have contacted us for help to try and prove parentage as the last thing they want to do is surrender her but they feel they have no choice and are extremely upset. Well i rang the agency who spun me some crock about they only need microchip papers, they were losing customers as i was keeping him on the ph and i knew nothing a dna test can prove the difference.... i told him my husband was in the RSPCA and im quite aware of the laws. He used to work in Transport and to transport a dog to NZ they had to do a dna test to prove they werent a pitbul?????? I am very stuck here, i dont know what to do for the owners, and i dont want to see this continue with this agency, i love that the dogs are being rescued but the owners are trying to do the right things and seem to be getting ripped off.. Help please!

  12. Hmm, and personally I would steer clear of the 'breeders' who advertise undesexed I think it depends on the circumstances and to how old the dog is..... a female who is 2 from a breeder who pumps pups well i think its a good guess why she is needing a home! Poor things But say a pup at 12months from a good breeder un de-sexed i cant see the problem there if they are co owned or something, they might have good reason to be finding a home, just not enough room, the breeder may have wanted to see how the dog matured or wants to keep it close. You really cant tell what a dog will be at 8weeks of age.... I myself have a male pup who is older who isnt de-sexed that i purposely hung onto.
  13. Maybe you should looking for an older dog that has been vaccinated already, i know there is always alot of older dogs that need loving homes, good luck with your search, and yes from the start of the thread you are getting warmer with your second choice!
