  9. I love this photo, the subject, the colours, the darkness, the slight glow the petals seem to have, it's just beautiful. Looking forward to hearing how it went in the competition.
  10. MnDM - great detail shot - those muscles are amazing AnnieK - (25) happy birthday to Katie, she looks like an absolute sweetie. (26) poor, long-suffering Phoebe  Gapvic - congrats on the land purchase! Hope you have a speedy recovery. Huga - (26) hooley dooley! I don't mean to be rude but you might want to get yourselves to a dentist  Brilliant. How on earth did your son manage to keep a straight face! (27) wow, that's really intense and dramatic Redangel - aaaawwwww, such a tender pic and a gorgeous pup Evolving - lovely shot, the girls look so in sync with each other 25/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr 26/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr
  11. I just love little Lola's face and she looks particularly joyful in 3 & 4. Also love the sun shining through Sid's ears. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Brilliant shots Amazing detail on the crops, just great.
  13. Huga - 24 Lola is sooo cute. 25 Love the cozi & concept! Anniek - I think Finn's saluting you. Dora looks like she's giving Phoebe a little love with that beautiful heart shaped head. Hope you guys are all doing OK. Gapvic - both pics are great, beautiful light and gorgeous countryside Hope this week has been a much better one for you. Evolving - I love Jukki's intense focus. Clever Echo! 24/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr
  14. Saxon's just gorgeous .. and so big for a young fella!
  15. Whew, I was tense for the whole half hour imaging what it would be like finding out what your assignment is then just having 30 minutes to get a handle on all that equipment before your subject arrives. Making a connection with the subject and taking control of the shoot would be really difficult in those circumstances I reckon. Snook, I agree that it would have been good if the show was longer and a bit more informative - even if they just ran through what each of the lights were and how they should be used would have been great. Still, hats off to the competitors, they did really well. Oh, Reverend Jo - is it bad of me to tell you that I live about 20 minutes walk away from Vince?!
  16. Thanks for that CC. They're beautiful looking dogs and I'm quite relieved it's not a wolf, I can't imagine a wild animal truly enjoying a stroll around the local market!
  17. Thanks for that info tlc. Will definitely be watching it! CM, sorry to hear about Jamie. Hope you are doing OK. Also hope Chester makes a speedy recovery. And looking forward to seeing photos of Saxon!
  18. Wow, some really beautiful shots there! The scaly lorikeet pics are my favourites though, you've caught some great expressions there. Thanks for the info too.
  19. Thanks Redangel, Huga and KumaAkita. Does anyone think the French couple's dog is actually a wolf or is it a breed that just looks wolfish? Huga - love it! Didn't know you had a twin  AnnieK - aawww, Maggie looks like a little old babushka in that scarf. Happy birthday to Preston and Gemma! Gapvic - your selfie really packs an emotional punch, hope you are OK MnDM - both beautiful portraits, I love how the background colours compliment each of your gorgeous cats Redangel - naaww Luci looks so sweet and peaceful, no wonder you grabbed the camera instead of shooing her off KA - Jude is too cute, great ferocious kitty capture and I love the back lighting in the second shot. Dwynwen - w17 great composition, well spotted. w18 wow, pity about the grain because it looks like it was a nice night. w19 is that wire hanging straight down! How dangerous is that? w20 beautiful, I do love backlit shots. w21 terrific capture. I don't think you should be depressed that you took such a good shot with your phone, I'm sure I've read on this very forum that it's not the equipment that matters! 23/52 Winter Woolies by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr
  20. What amazing light, no wonder you got distracted. I love all 3 shots, but I think my favorite is the second one - just love the gentle warmth of the diffused sunlight and the golden glow of those trees on the left, beautiful composition too imho. Yep, it definitely moves me! The drama in the last one is just brilliant too.
  21. Playing catch up again, my excuse this time is that I've just recently got back from holidays. So many brilliant photos! Too far behind to comment on them all but just have to say - Butternut - great mood in your 15/52, winter really is here isn't it pixie meg - love, love, love your lounge hounds gapvic - week 22 very moody, hope those tears weren't real though! anniek - sorry to hear that Cowboy hasn't been well. So glad to hear he's on the mend and hope he's still on the up & up The photo catch up - 1st one's from our local park 17/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr Apologies for this one, I had that "OMG I haven't got a single shot this week" moment on the plane as we were leaving ... 18/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr ... for France! (*sigh*, already feels like it was a dream) 19/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr Really wish I knew enough French to ask this couple about their pooch instead of just pointing at my camera & smiling till I got the nod from them for the photo 20/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr Savigny Chateau, Burgundy 21/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr ... and a stopover in Singapore on the way home 22/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr Orchard Road, Singapore Oh, and CC is more than welcome any time - I love learning from you guys!
  22. I'm with you Kirislin, I miss seeing their posts too, though I often visit their websites/blogs (when I can find them) to have a sticky beak at their latest projects. Still, you, huga and really all the photographers here on DOL are incredibly inspirational, without all of you I wouldn't have picked up a camera again after a 20 year break and I'm so grateful for that!
  23. Finally have some time to catch up - had to plough through pages of brilliant photos (so a totally enjoyable task, thanks everyone!) to find out where I was up to with posting pics. OMG I didn't realise THAT many weeks had passed! So, very quick catch up with some comments: Huga - your imagination and creativity are just incredible, all your shots are awesome. Evolving - your girls are just sooo pretty. anniek - looking forward to seeing Amos in better health, just can't understand how anyone can let an animal get in such bad shape. Great angle on Hollie, another pretty girl. Flaves - love, love, love the foal action shots! Butternut - yay for Lego! Lol, great set up KumaAkita - 14/52 amazing sky! Love the expression on Elbie's face (15/52) MnDM - love lil Ruby! gapvic - Week 16 Apple(s) of my eye - brilliant! Nearly laughed coffee out my nose when I scrolled down to this one! Beautiful lighting and colours too. pixie meg - love the shot of Adonys, the way the light picks up the curls at the back of his head/neck. KumaAkita, Redangel and pixie_meg, hope you/your family are all healthy again (and anyone else whose been sick too!) OK, now the piccie catch up: 13/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr 14/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr 15/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr 16/52 by Bookend Wrangler, on Flickr
