  1. Hi everyone... I am wondering how's everyone's puppies now? Mine just turns 5 months old 2 days ago. she has gotten really big and her colouring has changed alot. It's impressive how small, cute and angel looking pup can change really quick into something that big, naughty and evil looking one LOL... here are Zoya's picture as a comparison when she was 8 weeks cheers xoxo
  2. I understand that 1 year old doesn't necessary means easier. But somehow i feel that at 1 year old that Zoya (my puppy) will pass her madness and i will much feel better about myself if i have passed that stage ( 5months-1 YO) until i am facing the next stage ( above 1 year old) LOL... cheers
  3. I think the only recipe is patience. When I have Zoya at 8 1/2 weeks old, for almost 2 months i sleep and awake like a zombie. she slept in her crate at the beginning cause i am worried that she would chew the cables. she was restless and awake all the time. but she is 5 months old now and she sleeps very well. I feed her about 5.30 - 6.00 pm. Soon i turn the light off, she start snoozing next to my bed. I don't need to keep her in crate anymore unless when i am leaving to work. good luck with your new baby... and remember to have fun and don't get too stress
  4. I can feel your pain. My little angel will be turned 5 months tomorrow and she is no angel anymore. Before she will happily sit next to me, will come and sit everytime i give commands. But not anymore. And she grows so quick. almost time to get her desexed. I can't wait for her to turn 1 year old.
  5. How old is when a female puppy has her first season? I am watching her like a hawk. When i am not home, she will be in her crate. But i am planning to get her desexed her soon before she hit her 6 months old. and as well, i know that husky or german shepherd breed are prone to hip problem. I am thinking to her x-rayed to see if anything i can do to prevent the problem. any advices? cheers
  6. Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhh My God.. so many gorgeous puppies. It's interesting to see some breeds that i never know much before. As well to see what are they look like when they were little and abit older. My puppy Zoya will be still a mystery what she will look like when she is fully grown. I guess when you will never know when getting a cross puppy. I love blue merle border collie. He has a very unusal marking isn't he? question for Charlie's mum/dad: how old is he in the last picture? does he still look big/chunky when he has his bath or when his fur wet? Tully Josephine is so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... any idea what sort of breed is she? cheers everyone... keep post the latest picture of your bubba.
  7. Hi thanks for the replies. She is due for her 3rd vaccination next month and i am planning to get her desexed before she hits 6 months old. I hardly smell anything apart from typical puppy smell and she still hyper, loves her food and playing. I will discuss it with the Vet on my next visit. thanks
  8. Hi My puppy Zoya likes to clean up her private part. I thought being part of husky makes her likes to grooming herself. She has her second vaccination last week saturday. I notice today that she has white discharge on her private part. Is it ok? The vet who gave her vaccination said that everything are great with her. and she hasn't lost any appetite. any advices? cheers
  9. Zoya also has the same problem. she hiccups alot. I am glad that its considered normal.
  10. wow.. awesome.. I haven't got chance to open this website for awhile and I love it that heaps of people are sharing their precious bubbas. las weekend was busy days for Zoya. She went to her puppy school. She did very well. The trainer commented that she has very good temperament. I felt like flying LOL... after that we went to RSPCA for her second vaccination. she loves chew things and cables happen to be her favorite. last weekend i stayed in my BF place and she sleeps under our bed. She chewed the bedside table's cable and poor Zoya got electrocuted. we heard 'Bang' and straight away woke up and called her name. she came to us wagging her tail. But she smell abit burnt. I checked on her and she is fine. but the carpet has a burnt mark. But I am just glad that she is fine. Gotta be more cautious with her more now. anyway... time to compliments everyone puppies. They all look so gorgeous. I never seen Harlequin great dane before... it's so cute and good looking. I love the colour. I hope more puppies picture will be coming. cheers Lee
  11. OOhhhhhhhhh i love Boo-berry pupcake... he looks deliciously adorable. Congrats on your new bubba. Enjoy when they are young cause they bloody grow up too quick. cheers
  12. G'day everyone. I thought it will be fun topic to bragging about our cute little/big Bubba. Inspired by Dogbook from Facebook where the owner make a profile of their dogs. Ok I go first. Name: Zoya (greek, means Life) sex: Female Date of birth: 20 June 2007 Age: 12 weeks old Colour: Fawn Breed: Gersky - haha i know it will tick some people off. she is a german shepherd x husky Hobbies: Chewing owner's shoes Loves: Food and food Hate: Noises This is Zoya 's pics around 10 weeks old.
  13. I know how you feel. I love getting compliment about my puppy. But I am start feeling that she likes my BF more than me. But my BF told me because I am the mum, the bad cop, the one who dicipline(spelling?) and the one who is not fun. My puppy was an angel when first time i brought her home. Not anymore though. I think she is testing my authority. How we estimate the puppy size when it turns 6 month considering 6 months is when it reachs final growing stage. I am thinking maybe double size of what her size when she is 3 months old. because my puppy is a cross german shepherd and husky, i can't really tell how much she will grow to be when she is adult.
  14. Wow a newfie puppy is so cute. My puppy is 12 weeks old today. She has lost her puppy fat. Her face has gotten longer and more defined and her colouring is getting lighter. I am wondering how big is 12 weeks old newfie puppy cause my puppy which is a husky x german shepherd is quite big. She has a german shepherd head and a husky body. So she is looks quite weird, but i love her. again.. congrats for your new gorgeous puppy.
  15. Patient... I really need it. She is so cheeky and loves to steal my stuff and drag it to my bed. I am waiting for a moment that I will be able to have a family pic together with my cat and my puppy. btw... how's to determine if my pup is in the right weight and not underweight? a moment ago I saw her try to hump my housemate's dog. Is it ok? what I should do if it happens again? and why my puppy eating grass? is it ok to give her bones everyday? cheers Zoya 8 1/2 weeks old
  16. thanks for the advise. I am watching my puppy like a hawk. When i can't supervise her usually i put her in her crate. at the moment she still learning 'sit' 'come' and drop. I try to make her stop doing something when I say NO. so far still no success yet. I know she means no harm and just wanna play. But I am worried it will affecting my cat personality and give him stress. Since I have the puppy, his personality slightly change. He becomes a picky eater. doesn't wanna touch his normal food anymore. I give him mince and sardine. He is happy for awhile but seem to get fussy again. He doesn't seem happy. Usually he is a bossy cat and always want my attention. I am not quite sure it's because his vaccination (happen after he got his vaccination) or because the new pup. everytime I wanna pet him, Zoya (the puppy) gets very jelaous and starts jumping on Mocha. I really want them to get along well. Mocha seems fine when Zoya in her good behaviour means no jumping toward him. I feed them at the same time and their bowls are near each other. Zoya leaves him alone when he is eating but soon he finish his food, Zoya will come and clean his bowl. I am going to get a water pistol thing so I can use to spray Zoya off the cat. cheers
  17. Hi again My puppy Zoya was doing great in her first class and I am definitely a proud Mama. She is so smart and lovely. She is not overly hyper. She is happy just sitting down on my feet and chewing her bone. the problem is I have a almost 4 years old Cat; Mocha. At the moment Mocha is the boss. Zoya was really scared of him but i noticed she gains her more courage now. When Mocha hisses or try to smack her with his sharp claw, Zoya would back off but soon she thinks that Mocha wanna play with her. at the moment I think her intention is just wanna play with Mocha, but in the future I am worried that she will see him as his prey. I try to make sure that Mocha is in higher pack and she is at the bottom. I feed Mocha before I feed Zoya. what else I should do to make Zoya respect Mocha? n.b: What is the best flea treatment for a puppy? she has none at the moment but summer is coming so I wanna be prepared. cheers
  18. I can feel your pain. My puppy also loves to chew my hands and ankles. She chewed on cables as well. My housemate was so lucky when she was using her hair straightener that its cable had been destroyed by Zoya. And she managed to destroy the phone as well and my lovely chinese bed side table. I said NO when she starts nipping and then yelp and either run away or hide my hands. i give her bones to chew. If she become really aggresive i put her in a naughty room which is the toilet. so far still has no change in her behaviour yet. I am hoping she get over her teething stage soon. cheers
  19. i tried that way.. i walked Billy my housemate's doggie, but he is a puller and and he is huge so i end up with one dog wanna walk fast and the other dog doesn't wanna move her ass. but she is still a baby... maybe i put too much expectation on her.
  20. Hi Kendall thanks so much for the tips... i never thought that sardines will be good for her. definitely will get for her soon. and eggs? i will give it a try. i only try to walk her alone without interacting with other dogs/puppies unless i know that they are fully vaccinated. i heard that puppy milk is good for calcium and her bones and she loves the milk. so do u think i just feed her dry food only plus some wings/sardines? and peanut butter? what an interesting idea. i am thinking to cook some rice mix with minces and some veggies, do you think it's ok for her or will be too rich? more food/ treats idea will be highly appreciated cheers
  21. yes i am trying to enroll her to puppy preschool, but there are no courses available at the moment, i gotta wait till next 2 weeks. The transport to get her to puppy class is a bit issue cause i am relying on my BF to take us there. She is a german shepherd x husky but looks like a GSD with husky colouring. She is a present from my BF. she will be 10 weeks old now. I give her either optimum or pedigree puppy dry food and same with the wet food as well. I get her puppy milk not normal milk. puppy bones and wings from a butcher. I have a crate and has been using it when she need a time out or when i go to work. so do you think the gentle leader is not a good idea? i want her to have a good manner when walking on the lead. got no success so far. and 1 more question, what sort of brush i use on her? cheers
  22. Jasmine is so gorgeous.... Haha.. LOL.. i can feel your pain. I just have my new puppy as well who is happen to be the most gorgeous and well behave puppy. The first week i got her when she was 8 1/2 weeks, i hardly get any sleep at all... my mind keep in alert for her. she sleeps with me in a crate or sometimes on my bed with me. After a week, her sleeping pattern getting better. i fed her 4x a week cause she is quite a big bubba and loves her food. but i can't feed her a bit too much, it's upsetting her tummy. Usually she didn't give me any signs when she wanna do toilet, but i am getting better pick up her sniffing sound or when she start getting restless. First week i got her, i came to work looked like a zombie... never have enough sleep at all. I can't wait for the time to able to hold on and let me know when she needs to go but in other hand i want to enjoy her being a puppy. anyway congratulation for you new baby. cheers
  23. Hi again.. My pup Zoya will be 10 weeks soon. Remember when i mentioned that she was an angel and content.. well not quite. She is a bit of terror now, but if only in the house. well.. i think i shall start the questions now. 1. Zoya scared of alot of things, noises and other doggies. She is alright with Billy which is my housemate's dog and Zack my BF's housemate's dog... but with other doggies, she turns into a shy puppy. she is not VERY good with lead. I got her a gentle leader and she hates it and doesn't wanna move at all... and she hates walkie. she happy just stay at home and laid down under my feet or attacking me. How to make her likes walkie? i have used alot of verbal compliments and treats, hasn't working yet. 2. She starts peed alot.... i have to increase the number of toilet breaks cause otherwise she will do it inside the house. is it normal?? 3. I feed her 4x a day, milk with dry food and wet meats and plus wings and bones to chew. do you think it's a normal intake needed for her to grow up properly? 4. I get her a kong, but not sure what i should put inside the kong. any ideas? 5. I heard about desexing discount voucher. how's to obtain one? 6. what is the best age to desex her? 7. what I should feed her to make her fur grows shinier and healthier? that's what i can think of at the moment, i am pretty sure will be more coming. thanks heaps Regards anxious mum xoxo
  24. I fed Zoya a bit too much last night resulting she pooping alot. Usually she has been good holding herself, but she must be have a bit diarrhea. She doesn't pooping anymore, and she still her usual self, happy and playful. No wonder she was abit sook last night. I read that i am not supposed to feed her for 24 hours. But i think i am gonna skip her 3rd meal and go straight to her 4th meal instead later tonight. do you think its a good idea? she loves her food. I am abit upset cause she has been really good with toilet training and we don't have any accidents for few days.. well at least she did it in newspaper when i was at work. cheers
  25. Hi again sorry for another interuption. Zoya has doing her toilet training very well. I don't have to wait for an hour for her to do pee/poop. I am start getting a slightly better sleep now. LOL anyway.. i just purchased a large crate from ebay. so far she has been sleeping on my bed with me. It quite nice having her with me actually, but i don't want it to be a habit. So what I should put inside the crate and how to encourage her sleeping there without much crying? i am planning to put the crate inside my room, so i can take her out easily for her toilet breaks. Do i need to put a water bowl inside the crate? newspaper? toys? nice bedding? should i close the crate door or leave it open? can someone suggest me a good puppy preschool that have a reasonable price and near malvern area? I like RSPCA price but the schedules are not fit in. I prefer on saturday morning. what do you think of this one http://dogtraining.com.au/dogzone.htm it's pretty close by my area. the downside is the next class will be 15 sept.. i am hoping to enroll Zoya as soon as possible. thanks
