I have one for my 2 mini schnauzers ... A home made job :) Made out of the biggest plastic tub lid i could find .. puppy pee mats(cheap ones) .. and 1 meter of fake turf from bunnings(around $70 a meter) but i got 3 pieces that fit my lid out of 1 meter. They do get a little smelly if not cleaned regularly and seeing as I have 3 pieces i hose the dirty one off and leave hanging out side for around 24 hours to get a good airing. My dogs pretty much took to it straight away and will only use it when they have to which is good :)

Ahhh cool ... I never go into pets domain ... and yess the cockatoo is cute at the pet warehouse .. even though he is a plucker :| I always just buy online .. like from ozpetshop (www.ozpetshop.com.au)

where abouts are you on the NW coast of Tasmania??? I buy alot from online .. i won't go into pets domain here ... I do sometimes nick into animal tucker box .. or pet warehouse ... if i need something in a hurry but that's not very often .. I just made a choice not to support petshops that sell puppies and kittens mostly and if i can help it no live stock at all ...

Like everything there are good parrot owners and bad ones ... same with good dog owners and bad ones ... I also have seen the good and bad in parrot owners .. I'm involved alot with educating people on good parrot ownership via workshops etc .. but there are still lots of people out there doing the wrong thing .. I've taken in $1200 parrots because the owner realised they are to loud, take up to much time, to messy etc etc ........ The horrible cycle of the pet world i guess :| *EDITED TO ADD* Everyone is allowed to like or dislike how an animal is kept ... but the fact is that people own companion parrots just like people own puppies from byb or petshops ... we just have to keep trying to educate people on how to house and keep them the right way .....

I think thats just a QLD law about Eclectus Parrots not being sold in petshops ...

I'm a HUGEEE parrot fan ... and there is a right and wrong way to keep these parrots as pets ... I also think it's a terrible shame to keep our native australian parrots as pets .. specially the cockatoos !!! There are some great resources out there for companion parrots these days .. www.pbec.com.au - Australia www.goodbirdinc.com - U.S (who is also workshopping in Australia late May / early June) and lots lots more .... These kind of birds like RTB Cockatoos and any other Cockatoo, Eclectus, Macaws and Amazons should be no way sold in petshops :|

I'm a first time dog owner and I picked a mini schnauzer and i must say i didn't realise how much grooming they needed .. we groom ours every 7/8 weeks .. and we do try and brush/comb him at least once a week .. because if his skirt / legs are a little long they get very very knotted ... Our grooming cost us anywhere between $70/$90 each time so thats probably a cost that needs to be considered .. Also we are now having a great deal of trouble with barking .. which we are working on but it's finding it hard to go back and re train things to get the barking under control ... My Mini Schnauzer also lovesss snotty snails .. It's rather gross but i'm not 100% sure he eats them ... he loves to smash the shells and get the little buggers out ... I'd be interested in knowing if its a good or bad thing ...

We went to our first class today over at Launceston ... Was very interesting and some people there with great dog handling skills ... We still gave it a go .. and will do the next 4 weeks as hope we can improve ...

Looks like alot of fun CBR .. Maybe i should just go and give it a try ..

Damnnn I would love to enrol in the Rally o course starting in Launceston this coming Saturday but I'm not sure I have or my dog has the confidence just yet :rolleyes: We can do a sit/drop and wait but our heel work isn’t the best … Guess it’s best we wait until the course is run again. hehehehe funny you should post this ... I also thought people will probably go What the hell .. But i guess their are lots of us out there that don't have kids but have a puppy turning one !!! So I've decided for my Gizzy's first birthday to have a Lunch with some of my new pooch loving friends But i was also a tad lazy in the puppy cake and snacks and found some great places online to get them from .. So our puppy cake is coming from Pure Pooch and the snacks are coming from Sweet Chops I also say each to there own and if it makes you happy and the pooch enjoys it then go for !!! Cheers
