  1. pup will be on full register. Sound slike question is answered....we go for number 2 (worked for Dr Evil ! ! !) Thanks all.....
  2. He is 8 weeks today. We were unsure as to weather to "show" him or not. However we were not considering getting him neutered. I have also heard that there is a higher risk of testicular cancer?
  3. Hey guys, We are looking at a puppy tonight. He is by far the best puppy in the pack, however, only one testicle has dropped. We are assured that generally the other one will drop, however if it doesn't: - does that affect his ability to breed? - could it have ant affect on his temperament? - Are there any long term health issues with this? We are soon the be the proud parents of the MOST LOVED DOGUE DE BORDEAUX in Australia ! ! ! Keen to hear your thoughts

  5. chichihuahua, What area are you in, as dogmad says it is illegal to have cats out after dark, and that's every state in Australia from my understanding. My mad cat is in every night, even though she drives us mad, But she gets locked in the laundry about 11pm (that's after roaming the house crying out Loudly to go back outside for 2 hours) and let out about between 6 and 7am. I would be contacting your local council again as well as federal and also try the RSPCA. Then again I agree with others here about your right to peace and quite, .... Catch the damn thing and take it to the pound. chances are they don't have it micro chipped as they don't seem to care about it at all. I am a cat lover, but I believe that everyone has the right to peace at night. If only I could call the council about the neighbours who scream and carry on at his kids. When it comes to the cats peeing and pooping in your garden bed, try a mixed spray off citronella and water. Not sure of the mix but works well with dogs and fleas I'm told and might keep your mozzies down ... wouldn't use rat or mouse traps, could cost you at the vets in the end (they do hurt cats/kittens) I wish you luck with the cat issues, nothing worse then a roaming cat tormenting a dog and yourself over night.
  6. Hi Ncarter, We are getting a dogue de bordeaux, we plan on taking him to puppy training school as well as any others we may need too. we are very very excited and cannot wait till his due date. I understand that they need to be monitored at all times, I possibly should have put that in there also. I just meant that the ones I have heard off (from family members friends etc) in Sydney .. only ever heard good things nothing negitive at all. heard about how wonderful it was for the dogs to be allowed to run around and have some great social interactiion. Anyway, I hope that we never have the problems or hassles others here have
  7. Hi .. We are new to this forum and I have to say I have loved reading everyones quips and qoutes .. But I am confused, my understanding of a 'dog park' or 'dog beach' is to allow a dog to run and to particpate in social interaction with other dogs. As well as for owners to share topics (being from dogs to cars to gardening) in other words anything. I have never been to a dog park, but here in Newcastle we have a great Dog beach in town and I have taken many walks along there and enjoyed many good conversations with owners when I took my past dogs there (who have both passed on now) .. We are hoping to go back in the near furture when our new baby arrives the end of the month a DDB. Very very excited about him arriving, although as he is not a very well known breed we are a little concerned about how others will react to him. But back to my original comment 'Dog Park or 'Dog Beach' .. idea being these are created for the dogs to have some fun after possibly being locked in a small backyard or apartment etc, So maybe a call to the councils about signs being put up detailing that. the having fun part and socializing .. lol And it is sad to think that there are some small minded people out there who just can't communicate with other owners or just like to stick there noses up and spoil it for the dogs. Myabe that's just me
  8. January the 29th is the day we become the proud owners of a new Dogue De Bordeaux pup. Now we need to start looking for a good place to send hime to puppy pre school. We also need to look at finding a regular vet. We live in Cardiff South, however we don't really mind where we have to go to find the right school / Vet. Any ideas, fellow novocastrians ? Thanks in advance
