  1. Well it's now 4 week after the TPLO. She's doing well but talk about hard in keeping her still, I'm now worried she's going to damage something else as she's skids along our wooden floors. We have placed rugs and mats everywhere so she can get up without each of her legs going in different directions. Young goldies...Sigh! Anyway just a thanks to all that responded as your comments were valuable did made me a little less anxious about the whole ordeal. Nick
  2. Hi All Just wondering if ayone's best mate has undergone ACL surgery? My poor gal has suffered a minor tear in her left rear ACL, it's enough for her to feel the pain and her leg is wasting as she's using more of her right leg to compensate. We got a referal to a specialist and it looks like we're going to have her operated on to correct the problem. There are several types of ACL correction and each type dependant on the size of dog and severity of the tear. Surgery aside, I'm just looking for some re-assurance from others out there who's best mate has undergone the surgery and how they have pulled out of it? Did it work for your pal? BellaDawg is only 20 months old so she needs the surgery to help a young and energetic goldie get around without the pain. It's going to be a long 6 months of rehabilation! All comments welcome. Thanks all. Nick
  3. Hello Showdog, what does yeasty feet look like? My Goldie is also going through a yeast ear infection in her right ear she's been on Nizorol tablets for the last month and the stinky brown wax appears to have reduced. I noticed the fur in her paws has a dark brown/red color also her girly bits but she's had this color the day we picked her up at 12 week old now she's 10 months old. We have also taken out high sugar vegie's out of her diet, introduced more raw meats, chicken mainly, probiotics, and psylium husks for fiber. Any comments appriciated. Cheers Nick
  4. I find that our little 8 month old Goldie, steers clear of the herbs we've planted. ie. oragano, time, mint...etc so we've just spread the herbs around the garden plus they grow pretty quick to cover any bare garden space, just be careful of the mint as it grows like a weed and spreads quickly. We also use the "Get off my Garden" gel repellant, which is ok until it dries up as it's like water crystals and needs water to swell up again.
