  1. Very rare injury for any dog other than a greyhound
  2. We have the Walk About Harness from Handicapped Pets avaliable in Australia
  3. I would make sure I got neck and spine xrayed before you have any manipulation done. Hope she gets better soon.
  4. Unless the patella were easily dislocated and relocated why on earth would he force them. If he could not easily move them I would think the would not sublux themselves when your dog was moving around.
  5. I would get a referral to a specialist there are quite a few in QLD google it to find them if you cann't ask your vet. Try and get the process moving as you have a limited window the older your dog is the less options avaliable to you.
  6. I would not go near a chiro without having some imaging done first, you could do way more harm than good.
  7. Underwater treadmill is superior to swimming for muscle growth and strength gain
  8. We are running a Practical Physiotherapy for Veterinary Nurses Course for more info contact me at email address below.
  9. I am not aware of any dog pools in Sydney there is a Animal Physiotherapist who has an underwater treadmill. Google Sydney Animal Physiotherapy for her details
  10. Keep reporting it every time they do it
  11. This is illegal report him to greyhound racing victoria. Having owned and trained greyhounds I find it disgusting that these idiots persist in this behaviour they are chasing a stuffed toy in a race nothing live so how do they think this cruel beahaviour will help. I know they will say it is to make them chase harder but I do not believe a word we had good success with our dogs without these deplorable training methods Having also worked for over 10 years in vet clinics were we saw mainly greyhounds i know this behaviour will never change.
  12. Cosmolo I am so sorry Dexter is not doing so well....from memory he certainly is a active boy, their is a new range of braces avaliable in Australia designed to support joints the are arthritic and or unstable maybe something like this would provide him with atleast some relief. If you want to email me if you are intrested I can give you the relevent contact details.
  13. ???? if your dog already has muscle wastage how will resting him for a period of time help this??? You need to get in contact with a qualified animal physiotherapist I can give you some details of Animal physio's in Queensland if you like, they will be able to give you specific exercises to help with the fore limb and I would strongly suggest Underwater Treadmill as this will allow your dog to strengthen in an enviroment that is low impact.
  14. This is so sad.... and as the owner of 4 greyhounds I am really ashamed of some peoples behaviour if you know anything about the breed you know they are breed to and will (unless they are the exception to the rule) chase anything that catches their eye. I have two 13 year old GH and even after so many years of just being pets and not being encouraged to chase anything, they will attempt to catch anything that enters our yard...
