  1. thanks i do have a frount yard but he digs to get to her , he doesnt do this at night only at feed times and when someone is at frount gate . im wondering could this be a settling in period ???? and what is the settling in period ??? i have booked in trainer he is coming out in 2 weeks . she is inside atm as its so hot and has come from victoria and i live in nsw centralcoast so i think that could be why she is ooff her food change of climate and the heat here is hot
  2. Hi , everyone . Was'nt sure where to put this. I bought my self a show bitch , she is 8mths old , she is very soft in nature and gentle . i have tow boys 1 thats nearly 9 years old desxed , and a 4 year old thats desxed only in august this year the boys are tervuern belgian shepherd and the girl is a gronedale belgian shepherd . ok so now for the promblems i got her 4 days ago and when i got her we walked all dogs around the block then i intoduced them in yard on the leads . then from there they seem fine til 40 minutes later jasper started pinning her down and she squeals but he didnt hurt her . he does it when someone is at gate and when summa my other belgian barks he will go for her and make her drop he does this at her side of her neck . she was wary of him but does go up to him now . i was thinking of getting a proffessional trainer out as i dont want her to fear tervuerns when i show her . ????? he is also a very dominate dog at feed time and she wont eat atm but i have tried getting her to eat inside i think this is a settle down period ? as i rang the breeder and asked her what she feed her got everything and she wouldnt eat it but she is drinking . he is very dominate at feed time i put owu three beef brisket bones 1 to summa then 1 to him then one to my new dog and he took his the went up and growled at her she rolled over and he took it . any ideas on what to do he is very obdient , he sit stays drops , and does listen to me but the cheeky bugger is doing this when im inside the house he waits til im inside .
  3. LOL well thats even better haha . my brain is terrible when it comes to maths LOL . well she has only being shown twice with 1 bob so am happy with that . but will do some more showing with her . when i get her
  4. okay well , i think the breeder has her age wrong as she was born march the 8th LOL so that makes her nearly 9 months old . ow well is till hope she bonds with us im sure she will .
  5. i think i need to calculate age propley LOL . yes im aware that she can't be desexed . but thats is fine my yard is very secure and both my boys are desexed . coolies i might head up to a december show . i think she is 6 month old now and got that bob last wkend . so 6 weeks time would make it . 7 months and 1 week ??? ill get her dob i think haha
  6. Hi diva , i may of misunderstood the breeder , thanks im sure she will bring me lots of fun and sucess , i have got a LOvely belgian shepherd , i was getting a pup pup . but after much disscuison , and this girl offered to me as the breeder is a good freind . i decided to buy her for a few reasons . 1 she is has being to a few shows and stacks . 2 she is mostly over that puppy puppy stage . 3 shes a bitch and i already ahve two desexed males so didnt think it was wise to introduce another male 4 due to her age being older pup she can teach me and my sister alot. 5 im just about to have a baby and needed something that was already toilet trained . we plan to show , do obdeince , and hopefully agilty and maybe flyball . she will be a family pet as well as a show dog after having our last bitch stolen from our yard in august we now have cameras up and are spliting the yard .still in hope that our other bitch is one day returned . another questions where do i buy dog leads show leads and collars from ??? we plan on going to a few shows before we even get her to talk to a few breeders and learn a bit , can anyone tell me when the next morisett show is .?
  7. Hi , i have bought my self a lovely show dog she alraedy has 1 bob she is trained to stand she will be 7 month old when i get her in 6 weeks time , every so excited . okay so here is my question i have the application forms to join the club , but as im about to have a baby and need to get fit my sister was going to show her for me for a lil bit. I have being told that she has to join the club that is no worries but she also has to be co -owner of the dog were are in nsw and will show at morisett shows only , my sister lives at home with mum and mum said a BIG NO to co -ownership . is there away around this ???
  8. Hi guys thanks heaps for your replies , Well i have being offered my a breeder i got my first dog off a 5 month old bitch she has being to two shows took out bob last wkend and she is show trained but still young enough , to bond with my kid she is use to kids and also other dogs and animals and so i can just teach her , obedince , the lady has moved to vic . but she is helping me heaps as much as she can . sorry guys for my bad spelling , I have always being like this and do Try my best guys . im going to get her after i have my baby in november , the lady a god freind and she only kept 3 dogs when moving from nsw to vic and that was a old bitch and a stud dog and this young bitch and she offered her to me only to me . as she said i know she will get well looked after and loved and she wants to get her daughter a smaller breed to start with . so im very lucky to have this girl and i think she will go far in the show ring . The breed is Belgian shepherd gronedale . i have two desexed terv boys , but decided on not getting anotherr terv when my girl was taken this year from the property witch now has dead locks and cameras . p.s i will post in the show forum as im a newbie and need to learn learn learn
  9. Hi okay well im getting a puppy in jan 2011 and im looking for someone on the centralcoast that could show me how to stack a puppy , and also can u teach it to sit stay and drop and also stack would it know the differnce if so how do u do this the breeder im getting the pup off lives a long way away so im asking her heaps of questions plus maybe someone here coudl help also .
  10. if i was a breeder i would like to know . if they say they cant afford yearly vaccations then thats a joke . then maybe there not prepared to care for the dog /puppy . i was struggling with money with my dogs and i managed it is only $50 to $80 a year for a vacc depending on vets and $60 a month for flea products and food if they go fresh meat there looking at $30 a week now i was really struggling and managed to get my dogs vacc and i got my male desexed so i cant understand why they can't outlay a small fee everyyear for 1 dog when i did it for three dogs at the time . so i would at least warn breeders do dont need to let breeders know your name ethier .
  11. hi all , i wanted to start my dogs on this , but there are so many varieties , i was looking at the chciken and rice 15 kg bag one . also is it cheaper to buy online or but at petbarn ect ?
  12. I want to buy a dog grooming table its for my pet boy he has a huge coat , and hates being brushed easy on my back as well . dont want one to expensive . or even a second hand one . any suggestion where i can get one ??
  13. ive had a bitch before and really dont want another . we have had older males in the yard and he plays with them and is fine when traets are handed out . but pups he is nasty too . buthe only does it when im inside . coolies i will certainly put the pup out the frount around dinner time and toys , im always home . eccept for when i have to do shopping of bits and peices , but just didnt want to get the puppy and chuck in the yard and have this mean dog at it lol how does everyone feed there dogs this new boy will stay entire , as i will be show him and do dog sports as well .
  14. Hi all , as some of you know my dog was possibly stolen just over 2 months ago there has being so sign or sighting of her , here could be a number of things that could of happened to her no matter what i will always be prepared just incase she comes home. anyways im looking at getting a third dog again and have choosen the same bred a belgian and want another male my two amles are good with ethier sex so thats a bonus . the pup wont be here until next year jan 2012 and thats if the bitch has a male , we have sercued the yard so that the yard is split in two and have cameras up and dead locks on gates . my dogs that i have now are 3 and half years old and 10 years old , my 3 and half year old is well behaved n lead isnt a barker great inside , sits drops stays but at food time is very proctective he doesnt attack other dogs but pins them down esp when food is out would it be best to seperate the new puppy from him at feed time i also have a massive dog run on top of this he only does it to younger pups / dogs never does this to our older dog even though he is top dog if that makes sense . he is also the same with his toys as he is with his food any ideas would be great as i want to be ready for the puppy and my 3 and half year old when the pup comes i have 3 and half months roughly could be longer depending on the litter
