  1. Just a side note, try and keep your dog from rough housing or recieving any knocks and bumps for the next 10days just incase. My old girl got in to rat bait years ago and that was a crucial bit of advice that I learned from the DOL brain trust :). Better to err on the side of caution just to be safe.
  2. Thank you so much everyone! I know some (most) people may not read it but even if makes a few people stop and think it will be worth it. Especially with the lead not being attached to it, I'm hoping they will be like "Why is that dog wearing a harness if they aren't using it?". Making them actually look properly. I can but hope lol.
  3. That's what I was thinking too VM. I'm definitely more inclined to leave the "nervous" part out and just have "in training" part, haven't been in here for so long I have forgotten how to edit my post.
  4. Hi Guys, I've had a look online but I'm not winning. Does anyone have any ideas where I can find a harness that says something along the lines of "In training" "Do not touch" ? I won't be attaching a lead to the harness, only the collar, but I find that the warning collars do not stand out enough. This dog is timid of men but we are working on that and he is coming along in leaps and bounds with slow introductions :). The problem is, he is gorgeous! People tend to want to try and pat him without asking, we are very strict with who he meets and the situations we put him in but I would still feel better having a visual deterrent for those adults that try to sneakily pat him. Thanks guys :)
  5. As far as I know one of the Austral vets has opened up a new vet surgery just off Newbridge Rd (Moorebank) :). It's in the same complex as Fernwood, I do have their card here somewhere but stuffed if I know where I have put it, I will update this post when I find it. Fantastic reviews so far.
  6. I forgot to mention- If a dog has already gone over its mandatory holding time, it will be desexed and ready to collect the day after the adopter pays the adoption fee :).
  7. Lol When I saw you had posted after me I had a "Oh crap, did I get it wrong?" moment :) Ps. Hi Anna! Long time no see! (I'm a chronic lurker these days). :)
  8. After meeting and paying the adoption fee-The dog will remain at the pound until the close of business hours on the final day of its mandatory impound time (7 days for non microchipped dogs, 14days for microchipped dogs). At close of business hours it will be taken to the vets for desexing (2minute drive up the road) and you will be able to collect the dog the following day from the vets (normally after 11am). You normally receive a phone call from the vet directly to let you know your dog is ready to collect.
  9. She is confirmed as safe with rescue if not adopted or reclaimed :)
  10. Oh Pers, I am so very sorry for your loss. I always loved seeing Hamlets photos and reading about his funny little quirks. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge sweet boy
  11. Oh Cazstaff, I am so sorry for your loss. Such a tragic and devastating loss. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge old boy
  12. Not that odd unfortunately donatella. I have collected 6 dogs from BP and 2 out of the 6 have had their microchips found on day of release prior to their new chips going in. Fantastic that the owners got a chance to reclaim their pets (and they both did :) ) but it's unsettling chips are being missed.
  13. I do remember when they 1st started up, they advertised for admin for their facebook page. It was along the lines of "get PAID to share photos". I am 95% certain it stated that you would be paid $10/hr or similar. I for one would love to know where the money for that comes from! As with all thing PR, it was quickly deleted so there was no evidence. That incident (along with many others) regarding PR speaks volumes as to their dodgy dealings.
  14. I am so sorry for your loss Heidi. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge sweetheart
  15. OH WOW!!! He looks amazing Ams! I was giving him cuddles in the sick shed when he became ill, I was so worried about him and still think of him often :) . Have the RF crew seen his updated pics? Would it be possible to post them to their facebook page if not? I may have one or two happy tears just now :) ETA- Just realised I took those impound pics and still have them on my laptop :). Darling DJ.
  16. Huge hugs Rozzie to you, your daughters family and the housemate. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge sweet little man Just disgusting that the neighbours were let off with a slap on the wrist and nothing was done about the attacking dog. I am so sorry about the lack of justice for poor Sarge and the other dog that lost its life.
  17. Can't believe it has been one whole year since we lost you Bonnie girl. It's been a tough day all round sitting looking through all your photos, but so many smiles admist the tears :) Barely a day goes by where we don't talk about you and reminisce over the short time we were blessed to have you with us. Even going down to the farm for the first time last week with Indie and Astrid, all we could say was " Imagine what Bonnie would be getting upto if she was here." I take it you had something to do with Astrid digging a crater sized hole under "your" tree this morning and going under the fence, which she has never done before, trying to get her into trouble Bonnie? That was very cheeky Bon and sonething you loved to try and do ;) .Lucky she just came and waited at the front door to be let back in :) Nice try though. Missing you so much today my big duffus head, love you lots girl, rest easy Bon xXx
  18. wish I thought of that. I get deleted or ignored. I just saw this post "We still need to assist financially when dogs are fostered as rescue groups rely on donations too" & "By the way, please dont stop sending in offers of fosters! Some rescues are still able to help if we provide a carer!" Would that be right? Do they send money on? I doubt it. Most rescues vet their foster carers and do home checks etc, so surely pound rounds can forward a persons name on, but it would be up to the rescue to do the hard yards of following it up. I just cant believe peoples are putting money into these numpties accounts for being the middle man, using material and photographs already published by the pounds and then relying on the rescues to do the saves anyway. Where on earth does this money go? with over 8000 likes on facebook i'd say their bank account it sitting quite pretty and i'd question how much of it is spent on the dogs. None of my questions were answered, in fact all were deleted when I asked this. A good while back they were recruiting PR admin with a "get paid $10/h to just click share" advertisement/status. Don't have a screen shot but things like that forever stick in your mind.
  19. Congratulations guys! Very well deserved, you guys rock! :D
