  1. So sorry to hear of all your losses my sympathies to all, its a very hard thing loosing a canine family member I lost one in January and it nearly killed me, I also mourn for my others that have gone before them as well. I have heard bad things about rimadyl however I have used it for years on and off and never had a problem with it. I currently have two dogs on it for various reasons one has had it several times and its the first time for the jack russell so heres hoping she is okay. Sorry to read about your experiences, with this drug I have found it to be very good with my dogs, but like all medication its up to the individual dog and how the drug works or doesnt work for them.
  2. I shouldnt come into this section its been six weeks since I lost my zara and this poem is so beautiful, god I miss my zara, I have dreamed about her every night since she crossed over I miss her so much thanks for sharing. Its a beautiful poem.

This kind of sucks doesnt it your freedom of choice taken away, a world without a dog to awful to imagine isnt it? Try talking them around in obtaining her another small dog it couldnt hurt could it. R.I.P GYPSY
  4. My chicken frames come from a chicken processor here where I live I was wondering how much do you all pay for yours I pay a whopping 35 cents per kilo just interested that is all.
  5. So sorry Rozzie, gods speed to little zoe, may she rest in peace, at least she passed away peacefully in loving arms. My sympathies to you.
  6. I have fed mine semi frozen and have never had a problem so I should think that it should not be a great problem.
  7. I wish to express my sincere thanks for your support and lovely words about my zara, she is desperately missed, but with her grand daughter here she will always be around in some shape or form, as with death there is new life as well, in a few years time her grand daughter will be mated and I will have her great grand daughter here and that is all I ask for. I miss zara terribly you have no idea, but I have great memories many photos and wonderful support with this as well. Again thanks to all of you who have taken the time to reply to my post its much appreciated. For the Queenslanders (petlovers) you guys have been simply the best over the last few weeks without your love and support, phone calls and internet chats I would not have made it through so from me to you much love and hugs. Sincere thanks. Again thanks it humbles me to have such support at a very very very sad time. **edited spelling mistakes **
  8. It is with such sad regret that I tell you that I have lost my beautiful zara, at five years young, I have have been so broken hearted with the loss of this beautiful girl of mine. I had the priveledge of being guardian of this dog since the day she was born, my companion, and protector for her five short years here on this planet. My beautiful zara, the earth was not good enough for one as beautiful as you. My smartest, loving, challenging dog, a dog that could open a door quite easily, who loved to run free and play, pick up a ball and play soccer with it just to have fun oh god zara how I miss your smile and our fun times together. You were my Faber daughter, and so precious and rare, fortunately I have your grand daughter here to keep your precious lines and your spirit alive in her puppies when old enough. Oh god zara I miss you so much, we will meet again at the bridge never to be parted again, I miss you at the end of the bed everynight, and I miss our huggles as well. Run free my darling, I will love and miss you eternally, run with your half brother kai, zoe, junior, tiny, and when my turn comes please look for me as I will look for you to hold you once again and tell you for now and forever that I will love you with all my heart. Good bye sweet darling Love Mum. Anefald Ragtime Dancer (Sire Australian Champion Iniff Ragtime X Austrianoak Candy Dancer) "ZARA" three generations zara danca and zdenka (zaras daughter)
  9. Thanks for that I will look into the reasons why they have changed their ingredients, I have used bonnie for years and years, seen the new packet and just thought well okay, new design etc!! Mine have done well on bonnie from day one, bit disappointed about the change of ingredient without telling us. I will call them for sure, and ask some questions, Workndog I to use bonnie puppy for condition on one of my girls, and to bring puppies up on it as well and its a great product, dont know if they still sell bonnie headstart it was fantastic stuff as well. Disappointing that the company has not announced changed ingredients, I started using bonnie cause it had the roo in it, not too happy about chicken probably all the shit parts of the chicken again like feathers, entrails, beaks, feet etc, very disappointing. Again thanks for making us aware.
  10. Here we use a combination of minced chicken bones and off cuts, frames, wings, lamb flaps off cuts, beef minced, bonnie dry dog food like dianne have used it for about eight years, and some pal meaty bites the mince and veges one, I couldnt be bother mashing all that stuff either and mine look fine, shiny coats, good weights etc. So I tend to think stick to a good thing, to raise puppies I use bonnie puppy, pal puppy food and puppy porridge, chicken necks etc and they are all doing great on it. You can buy the barf patties now as well if that makes it easier. **edited for spelling mistakes **
  11. thanks to everyone for their support and thoughts it makes this time so much easier. Sincere thanks from myself Louise and Katie juniors mum.
  12. Thanks Riley its very much appreciated.
  13. Today we had to make the heartbreaking decision to finally ease the pain and suffering of two of our much loved dogs. Junior a eight and half year old male rottweiler who had cancer and tiny a jack russell cross that was 20 years old this month. She had suffered with strokes, blindness, arthritis etc and we peacefully put them to sleep today together. Tiny and Junior were buried together at my friends property, where they will be together forever. It has been a decision we had made along time ago, but like everything you put it off again and again, until finally you can no longer leave the situation and you have to do it. God speed Junior, run free with your dad Zues, friend Kai (my beloved Kai),Zoe, and Tiny chase all the doors you want, you know what I mean. You were one of the best tinners, alias grumpy old sl*t, but most of all my slugga or slug. Love you Junior and Tiny meet you at the bridge when its my turn. Love you forever Louise (mum to tinners auntie to Junior) Junior and his father were the only two rotties that I have ever really loved and they will be missed forever by myself. R.I.P Love you :D
  14. I feed mine chicken frames as well, brisket bones, lamb flaps etc and their teeth look fantastic, also a good quality kibble is good as well.
  15. I to would probably say it was scar tissue as well, however to be on the safe side I would take him to the vet just to get it checked out, better safe than sorry.

So sorry about your loss, what a tragedy, hopefully one day you will get yourself and new puppy/dog and your heart will mend and learn to love another. It would have been terrible to see the dog injury himself and die. My heart goes out to you all, please accept this as my sincere sympathies. ;) May he be waiting at rainbow bridge for you all.
  17. I use bonnie complete, and for one other Royal Canin German Shepherd 24 and its great all their coats shine and they have plenty of energy. I have found the best results with Bonnie Complete.
  18. Okay here we go, I only use C4 on my dogs, as for puppies C4 as well. I priced the C7 with my last litter and found just far to expensive to vaccinate with C4 five puppies cost $160 it would have been cheaper with my other vet only $17 per vaccination, the C7 would have cost well over $300 for the litter. I have found that C4's work fine and suit my own situation. As my vet stated a C3 is sufficient as all other diseases are curable, unlike parvo, distemper, and hepatitis. But I like the C4's
  19. I feed in the morning, I buy fresh chicken in each day for my dogs so rather than it go off, morning is best. I also find that it gives them the day to digest, and they poop it out prior to bed. I also have a few dogs and by late afternoon it becomes a real chore so morning is best for many reasons.
