  1. Yes, the lens might be worth keeping. I would have thought a 350D lens would be compatible with a 500D camera. I'm no expert though but that's how that's the old lens systems to work. Maybe find out before you part with it. Thankyou LabTested, thats a great help! Thanks everyone for your advise, have no problem being told if my price range is out of wack...something is only worth what someone wants to pay for it. Next step will be convincing someone that a step up in camera while still having the old one isn't being silly.
  2. Thanks guys...I wasn't too sure. Maybe its not even worth selling the 50mm if I have to go too low.Just sell the camera with 18-55 lens instead? While I'm asking questions what would you pay for a secondhand 5D, no lens?
  3. Can someone let me know if I've got too much on it?I'm about to advertise in this weekends paper for same price but maybe I should drop it a bit?
  4. The one thing I was wondering was if the pup came back positive, does that mean the pup has to be put down, can it actually be sold?
  5. What a sick, cruel act.He would have to be seriously deranged wouldn't he?No normal person would do this? And to brag about it.I hope this guy doesn't have children.
  6. What a terrible fright you all must have had.Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
  7. With it I have the 50 1.8.I also have a flash but it got dropped and the battery lid doesn't clip shut. Seems to work fine. The camera also comes with battery charger, canon bag and I do also have two (the exact same) of the smaller of the kit lens, 18-55 3.5-5.6. Can seperate the items. Camera on its own for $350.50mm 1.8 Lens for $100. I'm looking at $450 or offers for all, either here or pm me if interested. OH wants me to sell this before purchase of new camera, help me out!
  8. I've put this up in the ckcs thread but I love this series I took...one is even my wall paper on my laptop. Dragon only managed to be in a couple of this lot of photos, this is one of the better ones he was in
  9. This sort of thing just baffles me, absolutely baffles me...I can understand people who are lazy and can't be bothered worming, de-fleaing and even picking up dog crap, still think they shouldn't own animals. But to not feed an animal to me is intentionally being cruel, not just lazy. The biggest problem I have with all my animals is not give in to their big pleading eyes and extra food. Its not just with dogs and cats though.Numerous times when I drive past a barren paddock with multiple horses/too many horse for the size of the paddock I feel so helpless. All horses even with winter coats still having ribs showing and depression lines and not a winter rug in sight. The thing that got me about the show was how friendly those dogs were and I can't remember which one, the female I think that wagged her tail the second time they were collected by the rangers as she recognised them.I hope they are happy where they are now.The problem is that idiot owner probably still thinks he did nothing wrong.
  10. I got goosebumps reading his breed.Out of all the breeds that he could have been, isn' t that just a bit spooky!Bit like fate, he went to the right place didn't he. Very worried reading about those men accousting you.Thats just not normal behaviour, they must have known they were scaring you aswell. You be careful! I love how it doesn't even accur to you not to give the new dog a wormer, bath, etc.Like I said its fate.
  11. Most DDs go for this amount or more, $500 for a purebreed dog sounds very cheap to me. Guess my purebred dogs have been 'cheap' then with whatever that infers.
  12. Sorry but I actually think 500-800 dollars is a lot of money.A dog at that price I don't think is cheap.Saying that of course if the breeders think their dogs are worth 1000 and over, then thats what their worth but just because you have a budget does not mean you cannot afford to raise an animal.I have never paid over $600 for any of my dogs and most have been from very good lines. That has been my budget and animals are very well cared for.
  13. I think you need to weigh up your friendship. At the end of the day, while we on here are against byb, its not against the law and she can do what she likes with her own animals within the law.If this makes you feel that it the friendship not worth it, then I would be saying that and moving on. Though I agree with you.If I decided to do this and knew the pros and cons and had a friend nagging at me I would be telling her to butt out.If you stay friends there will of course be the I told you so moment that is sure to happen but that doesn't help the puppies or mum by then. Goodluck.
  14. There can be such a thing as an 18hh stockhorse, especially these days when multiple registrations accur. My Qhorse gelding was 17 hh and nobody ever believed he was a Qhorse, looked like warmblood/thoroughbred and such a beautiful showhorse. He had 5 registrations including Australian Stockhorse. As for the OP.I prefer to accept that most people on here who have been on here a while know within themselves how their pets are and if their right....on the otherhand I also know you need to choose sometimes what you say on here in fear of the lynching.I have confidence in myself as a pet owner but also choose not to describe some events in my life as I know that reading a text format online can be interpreted the wrong way.I have a theory that only perfect people should throw stones. Then again on DOL, there is also Poster Beware!!!
  15. Personally I feel with all the effort a breeder goes to to produce a pup including time which these days means money I think a breeder is entitled to price extra for mains papers if they wish. The buyer doesn't have to buy or can go else where. Its like the housing market, the house is worth what you pay for it.
