  1. Thank you for all your advice. Its nice to know that other dogs don't go when outside. I forgot to mention that we have trained our puppy to toilet on command ("quick quick") and he does this on lead in the backyard perfect. I think after some time he will get used to it. I was just worried about him holding it all in!
  2. Hi We have a 3 1/2 month old Giant Schnauzer who has been toilet trained so well when we are home. He picked it up really quickly and we have had no issues at all. Originally we needed to carry him down until he was big enough to negotiate the stairs and he quickly learned the right place to go. The problem now is that when we take him out (puppy school, short walks, days out) he doesn't go to the toilet at all. Yesterday I took him out for a 10 minute walk up the road and back (only short walks for now) and we was rushing back because he needed to go! Any tips/advice? Thanks
  3. I use all the above fillings too, also sometimes chicken or beef stock frozen with peanut butter as the 'plug'. The Kong website also has some filling ideas. It is advisable to purchase the correct size to prevent it getting stuck in their mouth.
  4. Thanks for your feedback. becks, keeping kongs inside doesn't help because the dog is outside during the day! Thanks Polgara's Shadow, its good to know someone else has had the same problems. We might search for some alternative non-food things to do, and the rawhide.
  5. Hi all, Our 9 week old Giant Schnauzer absolutely loves his Kongs during the day while we are at work, however as he leaves them and returns to them throughout the day, the Kongs soon fill up with ants. Any suggestions to prevent ants? I have been filling with peanut butter and dried food but have only been filling with dried food and liver treats since the ant invasion but these fillings are too easy! Thanks
