  1. Well you know what waiting did last time.. I would be out there on their doorstep. What for? Glemhaith is second on the list and will be contacted if the dog can go to her. Just ease up on all the criticisms about this dog. The bossiness about who should do what in this thread has been astounding and very off putting. I am surprised Glemhaith has hung around at all! Read the whole thread again and see the stuff-ups that have gone on at the pound. That's why I'd be there. Nothing to do with the people here. Ok UpDate Bobby is on his way for his vet check. He will be released from the vets he has been paid for and will be sleeping in a home tonight . 4 out of the 6 EOI were from Skye Breeders and 1 from dear shmoo the upshot is Bobby is safe and will now have a chance at a forever loving home ....so those that helped so much.... to Shmoo and Arcane thank you for your help High five paw from Bobby.

Well you had the chance funny I am sitting up on the QLD border
  3. Yes you are absolutely right about not bothering about DOL, way too busy organising everything possible for Bobby"s release. No we do not know who is first on the list and if you can find out your a better woman than me > All I know is I am second on the list and everything is organised. Also breed/care literature has been sent to BP with Skye contact names and numbers incase number one EOI takes him. Can't do much else other than wait.
  4. Not that odd unfortunately donatella. I have collected 6 dogs from BP and 2 out of the 6 have had their microchips found on day of release prior to their new chips going in. Fantastic that the owners got a chance to reclaim their pets (and they both did :) ) but it's unsettling chips are being missed. So has this Skye been claimed by his Owners & if so when? He is still listed on the pound website so at this stage it appears he has not been claimed by his owners and is still sitting in the pound. I phoned BP this afternoon The owners have not come forward so nothing can be done except wait AGAIN until the 14 days are up.
  5. Hi Just walked in the door from Melbourne .I have viewed the pictures .I would think a Corgi cross....don't think Skye at all cheers He is a lovely boy!
  6. cheers as I say my defences are up ... ...I am not familiar with who is who and the forum pack.I felt like I was under attack I just would like the Skye terrier people to be seen for what they are and that is a closenit community that does care about their dogs, ( and no I am not looking for Brownie points or a merit certificate),I have gained a lot of insight from this forum . I was trying to locate the breeder to produce the microchip number thinking perhaps that may have been a way to secure the dog
  7. Blacktown is a massive pound. Thankfully the back yard breeders have been stopped because all dogs must be desexed. I'm sure there are dog brokers are still getting around the place and when they see a purebred they see $$$ signs. That said, there are definitely decent homes out there who want to rescue a pound dog. He is very cute, he's the right age and size to appeal to many. As someone who rescues a fairly rare breed with special needs, I still think it's a good idea to ring BP and offer expert knowledge to whoever has purchased him.

As someone who rescues a fairly rare breed with special needs, I still think it's a good idea to ring BP and offer expert knowledge to whoever has purchased him. I emailed BP over a week ago with information on the Skye Terrier and their characteristics .I speak with them regularly . I do have information sheets that I email and I ask to give to any prospective new homes my details and 3 other Skye breeders from NSW & VIC detals are also on the sheets My details have been logged with BP for future reference if another Skye should come in. .Just because we don't run under a rescue banner doesn't make us idiots...........Geez as breeders that actually give a flying ratz for our kids I feel like we are condemned by some from the start.....If I sound defensive than so be it.....it is the terrier in me
  9. I think with 5 EOI's, rescue has been dropped off by the pound as previously stated by 2 rescue people
  10. The Skye breeders have collectively sent out info about this dear girl and I am pleased to say that there one is good home interest for her . This dear girl's owner sadly passed away and her son has surrendered her.I hope to have an answer about this girl by Monday........ So sad that her worst fete was to outlive her person.Thank you for your for you thoughts for this girl .
  11. WOW!! A very different breed indeed. must be mostly the cross - LOL. send me a photo please
  12. I don't think Dougal is the only one on this roundabout ! ...well I for one am hopping off ...I like 98% of Skye people will just continue to do what we have always done, and that isto try to be the best custodians we can & try to look out for our breed to the best of our abilities. This has been my first time on this forum... I have met some lovely PRO ACTIVE members and whom I hope to keep in contact with :)
  13. http://www.dolforums.com.au/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif Well said !!! They are a dog that may quite easily end up on the wrong roundabout
  14. I am sorry I am not overly experienced in the workings of it all , not too many Skyes come through the system,. I am not a professional rescuer ,but I am a fast learner and I am learning a few things quite quickly. I am just someone that has had Skyes be a part of my life for a long time, that has a lot of friends the same and we all try to look out for the breed we love
